No kidding! How could they not mention the glosses are sparkly or shimmery? And those lipstick descriptions are way off. I might consider Patchouli or that third glossimer, but a description of "brown" for lips totally turns me off.

Ya I ordered Patchouli because I swore an earlier description I read for it said it was copper coloured and the quad is far less coppery then I was expecting but hopefully I'll be pleased.

You guys really have me eyeing up the nail polishes but jeepers I can't get used to that price for a NP when other brands have such gorgeous colours for 1/2 the price. Hmmmmm

Ohh product desciptions the downfall of every wishlist...

Can we talk about how I'm quitting my job tonight to focus on school.. Perhaps I'll be able to manipulate my mother into getting me Patchouli cause it's an Indian reference heh heh.

The two dark colours of the quad look divine, I need to decide whether they warrant the pricetag though. I think Chanel's standout products are really their lip products so maybe I won't get them.

Pink Pulsion still seems like it's going to be more creamy than sparkly. I'm sure it'll look divine on you mrslid! I actually like when women have a bit of sparkle, too much is childish but just a little is pretty! I'm not going to get it though because I always get hot pinks for my skin tone.

I need more soft colours. Let's add this all up shall we? $196.62. No me gusta.

Chanel has been loving the bright pink polishes this year. Riviera, Rose Insolent, and now Pulsion (although Pulsion seems much more bluish fuschia).

Now that I look at it a bit closer, Patchouli looks gorrrgeous for fall....

Not a bad thing to just focus on school. But yeah, kinda puts a damper on your purchasing ability.

I'm going to have to step up my job search game (up until now, I've been really picky trying to find my "dream job"). Primarily because hubby's job is questionable at this point (the pitfalls of working government contracts). We're OK for the next few months (and possibly up to a year) and his manager, along with the company's site lead, have assured him there is a spot for him with the company. I told him that if we have to move, so be it.

Unfortunately, that also means my spending needs to be reduced drastically. I still plan on getting stuff and swatching for my blog, but that means I'm going to have to cycle out stuff as often as I bring stuff in.

Anywhoodles, I'm just going to enjoy these last few purchases and try to be happy with what I have. I suppose I should consider myself lucky that there are so few items from the holiday collection (and the next several MAC collections, for that matter) that have caught my eye. Makes not spending a whole lot easier.

I was about to order Magnolia RC and be done with it, but thennnn... I gave the pixiwoo swatches a good look and saw the darkest shade of the quad a-a-and...

I caved.

This will actually be my first Chanel quad though. I told myself only one eyeshadow palette from the Holiday collections and I had my eye on Dior's Five Golds quint but this one just seems so much more... gorgeously wearable?

The pixiwoo swatches look amazing! I think I want Magnolia and Charming. The quad looked blah at first, but on that pixiwoo arm -- it looks gorg! Great, I'll have to send another email to my husband saying P.S. I want all of these, too . . .

Karin, good luck with your amped up job search. I'm sure we all have enough makeup to last us for the rest of our lives. I've been trying to cut down (and purge as well) because too much overwhelms me and then I use none of it. And even when you don't buy it's still fun to read & talk about.

Karin, I'll be there right along with you enjoying what I have and not spending for the coming months. I may break out in hives and be a little jittery for a while, but hey, it'll be worth it when my home actually has some furniture in it!

My Starbucks' habit also needs to be altered a bit, which sucks cuz now there's a drive thru on my way to work!

So, I searched every store all over the place to see if I could find any of these items to swatch for us - nothin! 2 places told me next week *eyeroll* The one place where I knw the chanel dude, said they already sold out of all the sets except for 3

Let me know how you like it too!! Mine has been shipped so I hope maybe I get it tomorrow. I actually clicked on a link that was somewhere in the Chanel eyeshadow thread that had a close up of one of the quads and went to the website and found like 3 others I really want to get. One was Garden Party and I think Sequoia and I can't remember the other. I think I may have to try another one after I get Murano!!!

The lip colors here do look amazing but I just have this huge problem remembering to even put anything on my lips when I get ready in the morning. I think part of it is that once I get to work, I eat my breakfast and I forget to reapply. Are the glosses sticky like MAC's can be?
