Boy am I late to the party! First off,

belated, Cheryl!! Second, I hope your father is doing better, Momma Spy. My FIL spent a couple of days in the hospital late last week because of pneumonia, as well. Finally, Happy Valentine's Day all!

I didn't get any Chanel, but my wonderful husband did get me a pair of diamond studs!!! And the fellas in my unit at work all chipped in to get us ladies roses! How sweet of them! All in all, a great day.

the DG products are lovely.. don't get me wrong... I was doing price/quality comps.. I don't think they are priced right for their market because at that price range, more is expected. The colours, in and of themselves are striking... I look at the texture too much.

hell.. I am still waiting to have my order finished from NMs..Lucky you with all those samples!

I am getting older by the nanosecond and the site is not responding... grrr.

Texture is really important for the blushes too! Thats why I LOVE Chanels

...oh, and I got an Hourglass eye duo in 'Gypsy' - very very pretty. It was the last one they had, so I figured it had my name on it.

HG - oooo la la......a secret admirer? What a nice V-day surprise!!!!

ANTM - like HG, I thought it was a product - a new cosmetic line......can you say, one track mind?????

Hourglass is a very very good line.. I am working on some of their stuff.. really exciting stuff !! Glad you like it

When ANTM comes on, I get so hooked. My hubs can't stand Tyra when she tells the models to "smize" (smile wit yo eyes) LOL!!!

Awww HG, that is sweet of your niece! And I don't blame her for wanting Chanel! One you get the interlocking C's, you never go back . . .

Nora -- yay for scoring the Chanel fragrance for such a steal! Love that.

Christa -- let me know if you find the perfect setting powder. I am always looking for one that doesn't get cakey with my shiny skin.

oh, I have a brand new LaMer powder foundation.. and haven't touched it yet.. geesh.. I scare myself sometimes.

mrslid you can't get it in translucent? the powder..? did you look on their website?

I just bought some stuff from NM... but have decided to get some E. Bess stuff too.. so going back for free ship

It's just the La Mer pressed powder I'm looking for as opposed to their powder foundation. Neiman Marcus carries it and they ship free to Canada but they don't have translucent listed. Just the 3 tinted shades? La Mer's site doesn't ship to Canada..of course LOL. You'll have to give the powder foundation a try. I can never resist trying something for the first time. I have to do it right away!Let us know how you like the Edward Bess stuff! I love what I have and can't wait to try more.

I really hope NM keeps the free ship around although I think I need to cut back on NM orders. When I first started ordering from them the duty and taxes were about 21%. They just seem to keep climbing and climbing and for some reason are now 33%. I think they are hiding some "handling" fees in there now because duty and tax rates haven't changed that I'm aware of.

For D&G I've tried two of their eyeshadow quads and they were both duds. Poor pigmentation in the one and overall just boring colours.

I tried the Living Proof No Frizz for my curls but it stripped my colour like mad :-(

HG that is very exciting about the flowers and chocolates...but silly if they never reveal themselves!! Hopefully it wasn't a screw up by the florist and they are wondering why they haven't heard from you yet! Doh!

Oh yeah...is anyone else not getting notifications? All of a sudden all my subscriptions had changed to site only. But even the onces I changed back to immediate notifications aren't sending me any notifications. I'm not even receiving notifications for PMs anymore. GRRR

I love, love, love Hourglass' Film Noir Mascara. It is just too fantastic. Beats Chanel Inimitable, which always smudged just a little bit under my one eye (along with most other mascaras).

On Kate Somerville-- I haven't used Exfolikate but KS acne line has really helped clear up my skin more than anything else I've used. KS is amazing!

Happy Valentine's Day to all. HG, hope you find out who sent you the flowers! Though it could be fun to have a secret admirer.

On a totally separate note, I just booked a vacation to Taos, New Mexico for next month with my boyfriend and want to get a few Chanel makeup goodies to take on my trip...I'm thinking pretty nudes, neutrals, and peaches since it's the desert and I have a good time over coordinating things like this. Any ideas for some must-haves to pick up before I go?

Of course, I did just do an order from Nordies and they chaged me $25 for shipping. $25 for one lipstick. Of course, when the box arrived, I realised why. This thing was large enough to ship a friggin' counter display. It had one lipstick. The box was easily the width and height of my iMac and about two inches deeper. I feel like emailing them back and telling them that next time, I'll pay everything collect if they just ship in a damn padded envelope.

Ya 21 % was fine because that was only 7% more than taxes would be anyway and Chanel is so much cheaper in the US it worked out way cheaper still. 33% is nuts though but the free shipping makes it worthwhile because even to get something shipped from Holt Renfrew they charge $11 I think so it still worked out cheaper and easier most times plus I prefer the US formulas of Chanel blushes/quads. I think I may look more into Holts thought. Nordstroms is nuts because they charge shipping, handling, taxes and duty and it is just way too ridiculous!

Hi Strix! That sounds like a great vacation! 2 good quads to check out are Spices and Dunes - a few pages back (I believe in this thread) some of the girls were talking about Dunes....they're both really pretty! And Espiegle would be a nice addition to your lineup!

HG, glad you solved the mystery! How sweet of her to do that! Champagne taste on a YooHoo budget, eh? At least you're training her right!

I can't wait to try more of the Hourglass line - I wanted to try the foundations last night, but Sephora was a complete zoo. Ugh! I had to get out of there! My local Sephora doesn't carry Hourglass, so I guess I'll have to figure something else out. Very frustrating! But I will indeed check out the mascara - thank you Karin!

Thanks Shypo, those quads sound fantastic. I've seen Spices in the store and thought it was gorgeous, but I haven't seen Dunes before. I already have Espiegle, so I will definitely bring that with me! Good thinking.

Strix -- I just got the Dunes quad last week and love it! A great neutral quad. I love Mythic RA lipstick (nude) and I just got Instinctive RA lipstick (peachy). Like Cheryl mentioned, Espiegle is such a gorgeous peachy blush!

Chatty we are - I love it!

Got my BOY! Its really pretty its just a little bit soft pinker than my natural lip color. I love the feel & the shine!

I really love the Armani 518!!! Its more of a softer rose pink on me - very very pretty - love.

Can I say that I still love Joyeuse more than either of the above

Armani's black liner is the bomb - I do think its blacker than mac's Feline

which I didn't think anything could get blacker than that. Armani's is deep deep incredible black. So far, its not budged one darn bit. I'll try it on my waterline this weekend.
