I'm going to try to check these out this weekend, hoping they're on-counter now .....I'm liking the looks of Old Hollywood as well - I bet Meggy is eyeing it too!

.
Of course I am....lol!

It looks so seriously opaque, it's almost a shock to me to see a color like that for a Spring release, but I'm totally not complaining! Can you guys imagine that WHAM BAM red lip with whatever beachy look themed products MAC and Chanel are releasing this Summer?!? OMG, it's like vintage Hollywood starlets on an island vacation...I LOVE IT!!!

I also really like Guava and Sweet Nectar, but they look close enough that 1 of them will do. I think I'm leaning towards Guava because SN actually looks a little frosty in swatches (almost like a slight gold flash in there)...am I the only one seeing that? I might not need either though, depending on how close they are to other screaming corals I have.

I know, I am impatiently awaiting part 2 of T's BB lip swatches!

I was watching this vid on You Tube and she shows 2 of the Rouge Coco Shines on her lips at the end. I am afraid I am going to love them all:

She shows Evasion around 7:55 and Fetiche around 8:25 -- gorgeous!!

Put me down for Bikini Pink too! It looks delicious!

Cheryl, not sure if I wished you a Happy Belated Birthday earlier in the week. If not, hope it was a blast and you were spoiled!

And Chanel Spring related, I'm on day 5 wearing Peche Nacree, no chips at all, and that was without a top coat. I looove this polish!
I have to admit I have a secret crush on your daughter, she sounds so adorable when you speak of her. Blah...does that sound wrong?!?! Not a creepy-gross crush, a future mom-in-training crush, lol!
No, that doesn't sound wrong! I totally get it! She amazes me as she gets older and her personality develops! She is really fun-loving and sweet, but also has a bit of an edge to her! She's also definitely really girly but she can still hang out with her big brother and friends and do some of the "boy" things they like!

Can't wait to see the purse, looove Coach. Next one I get, I wanna get something fun. Right now I have a black signature hobo, a tan leather hobo and a lilac coloured hobo (can ya all tell I like the hobo's!).

^^ Peach nacree is gorgeous!

I was at the counter and I swatched Coquette and Nakkar again. Nakkar is the same shade as Coquette, except Nakkar has gold glitters. Is Coquette a colour that can be worned with any e/s & blush colour? I didn't try it on because I have a huge ulcer in my lower lip and I don't want to risk any infection.

Have a good weekend, ladies!

Hi Nora! Thank you! It's great that you and Michelle have your daughters to share your obsession!

MissQQ - I love Coquette - I think it can be worn with anything - at least for me it goes with pinks/peaches/neutrals......it would be gorgeous with Taupe/Delicat!!!!

ms qqq.. I never swatch anything on my lips.. ever. I am a true germophobe.

I bought Coquette on a hand swatch and I love it.. it goes beautfully with the Beagle blush or with Rose Temptation blush.. it is that versatile.

And with ES, as C! said, Taupes, browns, blues, greens.. you name it, it works!

@Eleentje-- I love Argentinian wine too. Malbec is my all-time favorite.

@Camnagem-- Love MJ Daisy too. I wear it almost every day when I'm not wearing D&G The One. Unfortunately, I haven't found a Chanel fragrance that works on me, but haven't tried all of the variations of Chance yet.

Have a good weekend everyone! I pop in every couple of days to see what everyone's up to and what new goodies y'all bring home from Chanel or elsewhere. I'm working on my master's thesis right now-- last semester of graduate school, so I drop by Specktra when I can for a nice break!

^^ Good for you Strix, congratulations on that achievement! It's always good to take a break now and then, and what better way than on the Chanel thread!

HG, what is it from Edward Bess that you like? I'm interested in checking out those products, but wondered if there were any 'faves'? I'm also wanting to check out the HG blushes......maybe. I'm such a powder blush fanatic that it's hard for me to get into cream blushes....though I have to say I do like the MUFE HD blushes......

Boy, we really need a 'Chanel girls' general chat spot....hmmmm....wonder if I could open a thread for that?

I had a lovely time at the dinner party.. met some interesting peeps.. mainly Doctors..good to have nice Doc friends.

I did add a small silk orchid to the side of my hair since it is so boyish looking in the back and longer to the side.. it looked very pretty.. yea, even this old hag can still rock an orchid..

C!.. I bought a bronzer and a two ls.. I haven't tried either yet as I have been crazy busy but will info next week when I do try them (they are for my trip).. I am off today to get HisPugness's shots.. my poor puppness has OCD -- he won't step on different coloured tiles.. lol.

I sent an email off to my argentine friend this am.. and told him that maybe he would want to rethink having dinner with me as I am not the same woman as he met (blonde) and now have white hair and a fondness for pink pants.. I attached a pic of my pantalones rosados.. lol.. let's see what he answers.. but seriously I am now black haired and he did meet me as a blond.. argh.. all these changes are driving me to drink.

oh, I used a shade I had not touched in awhile on my lips.. as I did want something with a bit more force but not peachy or nude as it would wash out with my outfit, so I used my old RA Prodigious.. and it was a WOW.. love that it's a soft rose with some golden/peachy/mauvey.. very complex colour

Thanks, Cheryl and HG! Good to know Coquette goes with everything, though that is probably bad for my wallet!

HG- yeah doc friends are great. The orchid on the hair is pretty, reminds me of the Chanel summer promo!

elegant - Revlon is my favourite drugstore brand because I bought some items when I was a student and I was very pleased with them. Have you seen the new glosses? They look pretty.
Boy, we really need a 'Chanel girls' general chat spot....hmmmm....wonder if I could open a thread for that?

Can the 'Chanel General Chat' be for non-Chanel too? That's really what I was thinking......'everything-high-end-BUT-Chanel-or-maybe-Chanel-too-depending-on-our-whim'

HG, hmmmmm.......communique to Mystery Man........could get very interesting soon!

Thanks for correcting my rusty Spanish - something didn't look right about it but I couldn't figure it out! Doh!

I'm contemplating some Edward Bess - I've been doing some research on him/his products this morning and have put a couple into my NM cart - whether I pull the trigger or not I don't know. I'm also headed down to the CCO either tonight or tomorrow to pick up backups of Tissueweight - that has to be my all-time favorite highlight color - I wear it nearly every day. I bought a backup of it the last time I was down there, but I want to get a couple more. I love the texture and the color for my skintone - I've been using it as a base all over my eye. Makes my crease colors blend a bit more easily, and it's a barely there sheen so it's just perfect.

I did a really pretty eye yesterday with some old favorites - Haux, Jete (another of my all-time faves) and Saddle. Finished with Beagle blush and PIP, Mellow Mood (from TT I believe) on the lips. Very polished, sort of barely-there neutral. I was extremely pleased.

Oh yeah, I'm not on the MAC thread....

missqq - The baby pink ls by revlon is very pretty. I love revlons nail polish colors very much.

HAHAHAHA - on the chatter! I don't think it would matter where we all were, we would just follow each other & chat up a storm about - well, everything! Isn't that what a board is really all about anyhow. I love how we can all talk about everything & anything. That's what keeps us here!

I had this funny thought/experience - the psychology of makeup. When I went to purchase the Revlon lipstick, I was like holy cow $9.99 for a drugstore lipstick
icon_eek.gif
But, I don't even think about spending $32 or almost $50 like I just did for the Chanel Asia ls .
sigh.gif

C - thats funny!

The psychology of makeup. Exactly. I have the same reactions. I see something at $10 in a drugstore, and I ruminate, ruminate.
But it's so easy to drop 20-30 on a lipgloss from high end. Crazy.

Coquette. I have to investigate. Nakkar, along with Black Pearl are my faves of what I got. To hear coquette is similar color to Nakkar, well. that's enough said.

HG, I'm loving hearing about your Argentinian mystery man.

I'm off to try to make a birthday party for an 11 year old girl with tonsilitis happen tomorrow. I'm thinking postponement. yikes.

They don't like me either!  I'm almost always stuck wearing B&BW sprays because they don't turn on me and they smell yummy...at least for the 30 minutes I can smell them, lol.  I can usually do fruity scents, so Spring and Summer time is my best bet to find something new.  Hopefully one of those I mentioned will work, fingers crossed.

I think Sephora's should have those emergency eye-wash stations like science labs!  I'd be able to run in there and get the stank off me from the scents that make me smell like a rotten tomato and be able to continue on my shopping, lol.

YES OMG!  new leather is just delicious.  My hubby laughs when I get a new bag and the first thing I do is inhale, lol.

Doesn't Taj Sunset sound yummy? This write up on Sephora has me drooling and day dreaming about cabana boys:

[h=2]Taj Sunset
Discover Taj Sunset, Escada's limited-edition fragrance for 2011. A scent of tropical sensuality, it opens with a burst of citrusy blood orange and the exotic, fruity aroma of the Alphonso mango—the first fragrance to capture this unique note. Next, floral and fruity heart notes emerge, including watery blossom, sweet primrose, and raspberry. The scent lingers on a sexy, beach-inspired base of coconut cream, musky notes, and sandalwood.

This fragrance takes you on an exotic and sensual adventure, evoking a summer spent in Goa, the region in southern India known for seducing visitors with stunning beaches, white sand, and a feeling of relaxed warmth.

Great swatches!  Thanks so much!  I really hope Fauve makes it over here to the US, it's demanding to be in my taupe-loving collection.

I have to admit I have a secret crush on your daughter, she sounds so adorable when you speak of her.  Blah...does that sound wrong?!?!  Not a creepy-gross crush, a future mom-in-training crush, lol!

The orig. MJ Daisy smells SO good in the bottle!  It starts out ok on me, and then over time turns a little too flowery, but I really can't wait to smell the new version!

I will for sure take a pic of the bag when it gets here!  I have a bit of a wait on my hands, but nothing too terrible.  My local COACH had to order it because they're sold out and that always takes some time.  Hopefully it'll be here before the end of the month!
[/quote] I really do hope it makes it to the US, it's a great colour. I've been wearing it with Taupe Grisé and a black line and Love Peck on the lips and it is such a sophisticated look, very elegant. Btw, Fauve has a lot of purple on me and it is rather shiny, but the way I like it, not glittery.
