jewelryguysny is no longer registered, did anyone buy from them in the past? I bought a pigment set from them and always wondered if they were real or not.

They're not MAC, but if I remember correctly, they only claim that the glitters are MAC products.

Hey all, anyone here purchased pigment samples from the Aussie seller - blackchrissie11? She only has a couple hundred feedback - all positive but I'm paranoid now after so many bad experiences...

Any input would be appreciated! Cheers!

panda0410 has been buying samples from blackchrissie11 and she said they're genuine. I compare the colours that I have with blackchrissie11's and they're quite legit but like caffn8me said, it's quite dangerous to use colours in photos to identify if the product is genuine. :|

try blackchrissie11 - she might ship internationally if you ask her. her rates here are perfectly reasonable and you get GOOD sized 1/2 tsp samples, not like the 1/4 tsp samples you see which IMHO dont represent value in the least

This is such a useful thread, and with that in mind, I thought I'd 'give back' because you ladies have helped me make great eBay purchases! I've got a few to add, and reaffirm, on this topic.

GOOD eBAY SELLERS who ship well-packaged items quickly:

my-boo-kitty (Popular US seller. I just bought my first MAC item from her - a LE Studio Finish concealer palette w/ SPF 35 - am thrilled with it! Incredibly well-wrapped so it arrived in perfect condition in the post.)

lynnandjason1998 (Another good US Seller. I bought a 187se from them, and I'm very pleased with it. Arrived well packaged and came quickly.)

katya_127 (UK Seller. I bought the MAC formal black ruffle with 5 short-handled eye brushes. Arrived quickly and wasn't too expensive, and came with freebie samples of perfume and shower gel.)

xbeautylisciousx (UK seller. Bought glitz & blitz fluidline from her, and it arrived very quickly and was very well packaged. Not bad prices either! She has a lot of NARS brushes up for sale right now.

eBay sellers that I'm waiting on, and would welcome any thoughts on:

makeupmaniacs (US Seller. Bought 2 mixing mediums, an eyeliner and a face & body, on 12 May - seller says it was posted on 15 May - and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. It was international post, so I'm not seeing it as a delay - yet.)

samphora-face-treat (US seller who sells mostly pressed pigments. If you buy 4, she gives a complementary e.l.f quad, and if you buy 15, she gives a 15-pan-slot MAC kit. I've bought 15 today and I'll update when I get it. She has to send it internationally to me, so it'll be a good test of how well she wraps it.)

awful sellers to avoid at all costs:

swoosh_uk (Got a separate thread on that, so I won't repeat it here.)

Thanks ladies!

I recommend:
scheepies
closetmustgo
danejasmine

Has anyone ever purchased anything from antdaddy14? He uses stock pictures but he has 100% positive feedback. Also nvrno66 - good feedback, stock photos.

I'm glad to see closetmustgo is on that list - I've been eyeing some of that seller's pro pan refills.

Personally, I would NOT buy from antdaddy14 unless he provided photos of the actual brushes he's selling. Those prices are way low, so my spidey-sense tingles "No!"

Anyway, it's actually against eBay policies to use copyrighted stock photos, so I'm tempted to report all of his items on those grounds to force him to give pictures of the actual brushes. Also, he's only been selling brushes since April 2007, so he doesn't really have that much of a reputation as a brush seller. Just my two cents.

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that if you are looking for your favorite ebay sellers for pigment samples and you find they are no longer a registered user it is because MAC has been making a crackdown on sellers. I read this on the LJ community. I def think it is true because some of the sellers I know that sell authentic samples and brought from before are no longer registered users.

It is against ebay policy to allow brand name products to be divided into non original packaging for resale - this includes other containers and jars and sample or cosmetics containers - and you are right - EBAY itself has totally been cracking down on this policy!!! Its about the advertising and the way samples are promoted, if you DONT use company logos, brand names or pictures of the sample jars and state clearly that you are not affiliated with MAC then sellers may still be able to list their items.

I can attest to this - my husband was selling pigment samples but ebay has closed all his auctions. which sucks because now we have all this pigment that we are stuck with.

does this mean any sort of sampling on ebay is not allowed? because I like to buy samples on ebay (decants of fragrances to try them, BE samples, etc.) and I would be dissapointed if ebay stops allowing any sort of samples.

yes - this is from ebay to a seller who shall remain unamed for privacy reasons (please dont ask who) -

I am sorry that eBay has removed your listings. Brand name perfumes and cosmetics that are filled into other containers such as bottles, sprays, pens are not allowed on eBay. Although you may have sold these items in the past, they are no longer allowed to be listed on eBay.

And this is from an earlier response -

Brand name products that have been divided up and placed into other containers such as bottles, sprays, pens are not allowed on eBay.

So you can see it is not permitted at all by ebay, however I would think it unlikely that ebay will be trawling all listings for possible copyright infringement - I rather suspect that this was an inititive of MAC directly and ebay has responded by checking those listings. The principle still applies though and if the perfume samples were brought to the attention of the parent companies I guess the same thing could happen there.
