Woo hooz! I just heard that the glossimers are all being added to the permanent line (you probably all know that already!). So, is the Enigma quad perm -- as well as the lipsticks? I know I will have to get the Pink Explosion blush since it is LE -- but at least I can take my time with some of the other things (if I can show some self control -- we'll see about that).

Hows the skincare/eye stuff working out?

I'm actually really liking both of the products I picked up, but especially the ULC line repair serum. I've been using that every morning and alternating nightly with the Retin-A and my skin looks so much better than it did before. It was starting to look really dull and i've started to see some lines creeping up around the eyes and around my mouth, but overall now, my skin looks better! I didn't see the line repair eye cream when I went, so i just have the anti-wrinkle restructuring cream, but i may give the line repair a try when I'm done this pot. But the eye cream i have has also made a bit of a difference, with the skin looking a bit smoother and the biggest difference i've seen is with the circles... I apply a really small amount now of MAC's moisturecover (in the tube) and blend it out & my skin doesn't look as dark under my eyes.

Ya, wish we could order off the website, but most of the time, we can purchase the products long before it's even on the Cdn site!

It's a very pretty mauvey rose with alot of pigment, and low level shimmer. It's really my favorite glossimer of the ones I own. Here are Karla's swatches:

Chanel Spring 2009 - The Next Best Thing To Going Shopping Yourself

My Fall stuff came this morning!
yahoo.gif
I love Rose dilemma - on me it's a little more mlbb/less pale and less sparkly than Mica (I think someone else compared it to Mica, but I may be wrong). I have sort of mauvey pigmented lips so that may be why, but I really love it - alot! Rose dentelle on me...is not as cool toned as I expected it to be, it's actually pretty much peachy pink, lol, can't really imagine needing the peachier one too given how this one looks on me. I do like it tho! Pink explosion..on my skin looks alot like Rose petale but with more shimmer. That's all I've really looked at so far.

That is really pretty! Opal Rose is too.

Thats actually how I felt about Rose Dentelle it is more of a warmer peachy pink which in the pics seemed to show up more cool pink. I would call it a warm vintage old fashion rose peachy pink.

Great pictures Cheryl! I like the idea of using some of these glossimers over Genial.

I played with the quad a little and really like it alot. It looked so scary to me on Temptalia and when I first opened today it that I toyed around with the idea of waiting for Karla's swatches before deciding whether to keep it, but I wasn't able to stick to that plan for more than a couple of hours.
th_LMAO.gif
I'm not that into smokey eyes on me anymore since I became officially old, lol, but...you can easily sheer out the pigment on these shadows so that they still look smokey but not overwhelming, esp if you only use a dark color in the outer third. And these are my kind of plummy shades. Nothing about them makes me look tired or brings out my dark circles (which are not too bad at all but do seem to be emphasized by certain e/s colors). Anyway, I am surprisingly very happy with it!

I'm so glad you're liking the quad!! I have not yet tried mine, but it's good to know that they are easily sheered out and can be used in a variety of ways!

You got the blush, too, right? Isn't it gawgeous??
winkiss.gif
I am looking forward to seeing Chalys - I want to find out if it's too orange for me, based on what Elegant said - I think since I have Genial and like it, I can probably skip Chalys in favor of an eyeshadow duo - I hate that we're going to have to wait until September for those. Wonder why they're taking so long to launch? I mean it's kinda weird that Chanel would do a limited color release (of just one?) - makes you wonder if there were problems with the production run or something......

And I am really ready to see the holiday collection - Elegant, did you see products or the glossies? When I was at Saks in Boston a few weeks back, the counter manager there showed me the glossies
th_drool.gif
- I cannot wait for THAT collection too!!

Oh, and now I'm lemming Orchid Rose - I almost bought that one when I decided on Rose Dust instead
fool.gif
- now I want OR.........too many things on the list!!!!!

Oh, I am SO glad you like the quad!!! Yes, that plummy shade - thats as far as I go in the purple range for eyes. I really love the top right color (next to the pinky peach) all by itself - very pretty & I think its day wearable.

All the blushes are very pigmented & need a lighter hand. I swatched the plummy one again & it was wow pigmented - but very pretty.

And Shhhhhhhh on the 'officially old' around here

I think I'm going to get the longwear Concealer too. I actually tried it & it wore well & looked very very natural on. Doesn't have major coverage but I thought it was great for natural everyday wear.

Anyone else use the longwear concealer - I would love to hear what you think of it.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Today at Victorias Secret I picked up a new eyeshadow - provocateur, a very very pretty nude peach with shimmy.
And the new eyeliner in Dark Chocolate - I love the shade of brown that it is & that sucker is still on my hand after rubbing, washing my hands several times & washing my face
icon_eek.gif

They also have a new gorgeous tealy blue for those of you that love teals & a light rose highlight color.

I really, really am surprised at how much I have loved the makeup that I've purchased from VS! I don't know if its true, but I thought someone said that its made by someone from MAC cosmetics
th_dunno.gif
well, I think its every bit as good if not better.

This makes me even more excited! I'm really looking forward to Rose Dentelle, it may very well be a colour I was hoping to see when the RC's first launched.

I was a little bit disappointed when you mentioned Pink Explosion being so similar to Rose Petale, but if it's really pigmented, then it'll definitely be worth it. Rose Petale is really light on me. I hope Pink Explosion is also a bit brighter.

Glad you are liking everything so far!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I bought the Hydramax lip care today and I just tried it on my lips. Amazing. It looks and feels fairly waxy in the pot but once applied on lips, it melts and doesn't feel oily. The little information booklet in the product describes it well: a mouth-watering balm that melts into the lips.

I'm not one for browns either, though I've been using them a lot lately! I like the idea of doing a complete eye with two or three colours for work. This morning I used the lightest and darkest shade from the Plein Soleil quad. Not the most exciting look, but still pretty. It took maybe 2 minutes at most to apply!

I know, I also appreciate having a duo for my eye makeup that will take 2 minutes, especially in the mornings. Yes, the duos are available for me already. Today I went to swatch all of them again, and I decided to pass for the time being. I asked the MA which are popular and she told me Taupe - for day, and Misty - great for night, and Gris is closely behind these two.

The MA that I just started to like a lot has been posted to another counter. Well, it happens but that's all right. I have you great ladies here for any information.

Thanks for the review, I think I will like Rose dilemma too! I felt Mica is too sparkly or something, I wanted to like it but it didn't really feel like a must have for me. And I want Rose dentelle too!

I feel like skipping Pink Explosion now because I just bought RP and it works great for me. I will swatch both at the counter side by side to see if I need both.

I'm glad you like Enigma and it's good to hear that it doesn't make you look tired! I am hopeful that it will work for me too, since we have the same problems with Kaska beige and some pinky coppery shades.

It is brighter and if I swatch them side by side on my arm Rose petale has a little more peach in it than Pink explosion. If you want more color you will definitely like PE, it's super pigmented. I'm so pale and I wear so little blush that alot of things end up looking similar on tbh.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Good morning from WA ladies.

I haven't been on for a few days (darned job keeping me too busy) so I had a lot to catch up on.

I checked Nordies for the anniversary collection and it was a pass for me. Actually most of the anniversary exclusives were a pass for me. I only preordered the Lippmann n/p set and Bad Romance n/p.

We don't have the fall collection yet but should soon. My initial list was just Enigma quad and Paradoxal n/p but has grown to include Cassis e/l (love colors like this with my green eyes). And I LOVE the blushes but I am not sure that I can bring myself to spend $42 USD for one. Both PE and the plum shade are calling my name.

Thanks to all of you I have developed a new love for RALs. I have Dragon and will definitely end up with more of these. Does anyone have a color suggestion?

Hi April, so glad to see you back!

I hear you on the $$$ blush, but once I tried them...they are lovely in texture & color. I agree on the plum liner, I am def. going to get it too.

On the RAL everyone seems to love Phoenix - its a gorgeous pinky red on. And there is Ming which is also quite loved - it's a pinky mauve. The color payoff is so great.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

oh oh.. I think Paradoxal will be the Fall's Jade! .. I plan to get it as well as the Enigma quad.. something about smoked greys just lures me. That would only make fourth quad from Chanel: Kaska Beige, Dunes, and Beiges
smiles.gif
.. I have a few lippies already but I try to keep my purchases from Chanel to a minimul because I have so many testers from so many lines -- I tend to dupe myself into duping the lippies
