Yesterday was pretty sweet for a Chanel newbie like me. The Amethyst single I bought on the CB came in the mail. And while I was at Macys I picked up:
Taupe Gris (my first ever taupe shadow and I have no clue what to do with it)
Rose Dilema
Pink Teaser
I also got some samples of the Beaute Initale skin care. I chose that line because it says it addresses the first signs of aging. I am almost 45 but have very few signs of aging at this point. My main concern is hydration as well as reversing some sun damage from my previous tanorexic days. Eventually I will have to deal with some sagging issues but not quite yet (at least not from the neck up LOL). Did I pick the right line? Should I try something else?
BTW, I finallly got to see ITG in person. I was underwhelmed. It was pretty but lots of it could be duped. I really wanted Blue My Mind e/s trio but in person reminds me of my NARS Cleo duo and Carbon shadow. Still on the fence about Band of Roses blush.

I'm not sure about the skincare line - hopefully someone here can advise you on that - I'm 50 and am really liking the UCLR line that just came out in the states. I do have signs of aging around my eyes and upper lip, but the eyes I consider my 'life lines' as I hope they're evidence of happiness
. It sounds like the Initiale line is perfect for your needs, based on what you've said - do you have a knowledgeable Chanel consultant as well? There's nothing worse, when you're trying to invest in a line, than having to do it without someone who knows the line, and the needs of the individual buying it!

Thanks Karin! I will definitely compare with Rose Bronze, but if it does show up more pink, I'm sure the smallest difference will be enough for me to get it! I ended up picking up Hang Loose MB, I realize it's not exactly like Pink Explosion, but it shows up quite well on me and is very much pink, so don't think I need PE as I don't often reach for really pinky pinks.

I agree. I never understood why on men, these lines make them look handsome and yet with women, they're "wrinkles", another double standard. I already have some laugh lines at 34, which I'm proud of! Marionette lines on the other hand I can't seem to handle as gracefully, even though they're very much the result of lots of smiling! At the end of the day, we should feel lucky to have a lot to smile about.
