Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

First I need to rant: I went to Saks (a company I work for) to return the new chanel lipsticks (2 of them and 2 glosses) and the lady told me about a brand new policy where they no longer return used products. I was only able to return 2 of the four (the 2 lipsticks had been swatches so you can tell it wasn't *brand new*). I don't usually return, but I need to know that I can if need be so I will have to forget about the Saks discount and take my business to Bloomingdales.

Anyway here's the rave: I LOVE the Chanel illuminating base primer. It is perfection. I have had problems with my dry skin and eczema and this smooths everything over. It's expensive and the tube is small but you only need a little. I will continue to buy this over and over. I was my face with Neutrogena, apply moisturizer, apply the chanel primer then my foundation and powder and it's amazing. My skin has never looked so good with makeup before. This is hands down the best primer ever!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I'm wearing Mademoiselle today and I love it! Glad to say that it doesn't go on brown on me. It actually looks like what Vanessa has on her lips in the promo pic, although my complexion is darker and more yellow than hers.

The texture is light while delivering even colour on my lips. I only wish it is more moisturizing, but it is still all right and I usually top lipstick with gloss too.

Now I think maybe Egerie will work on me since the lighting at the counter cannot be trusted.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I saw the LE bronzers on Temptalia and I'm tempted to get one! I like the design in the powder and the lighter shade sounds pretty going by her description.

And I got around to trying Rose Comete the other day and must say I was kinda disappointed in this one. I've been very happy so far with the rest of my Rouge Cocos, (so far have tried Mademoiselle, Camelia and Muse). I was going to exchange Muse for Ruban Rose, but it was out of stock at two counters. So I decided instead to keep Muse and pick up Ruban Rose when it's available. The SA told me that Mademoiselle is outta stock in several countries, so it may be a while before some counters get more of that colour. Whoa, I am rambling... so tired!!!

I know what you mean about the caps now! I was not closing mine completely. I don't need to wiggle but I do need to press down harder than I was. Thanks for mentioning this.

I made the 1.5 hour trek to my nearest counter this morning. Besides Mademoiselle, the MA recommended Satin, Bel Respiro and Paris for me. Egerie was the first one she reached for, but then she decided it would be too light on me. I decided to think about them and for today just bought Sundress and Imaginaire glossimers, both of which I am in love with. It was so much fun to see all of the glossimers in person finally!

The glossimers are totally fab. I need to pick up another Spark, which is one of my all time fave glosses, ever.

Are there others you would recommend? I have a few (Mica, Nebula, Brilliance, Courtesane & Mirage) - I was thinking of trying Spark and maybe Glaze or Futile.....going to check them out tomorrow but wondered if there are any favorites?

Is this the Lumiere (sp?) illuminating gel base?

I have the Blanc & I love love it, but may try this too. But I wanted to be sure first.

I was trying to figure out what you and Shontay are referring to - Elegant, is the one you have 'Blanc de Chanel'? Shontay, is yours the 'Base Lumiere'? I want to try one or the other of these based on your recommendations - I just want to get the right thing too......thanks!!

You're just too cute!

Mine is the Blanc. So, I am guessing Shontay is referring to the gel lumiere.

The Blanc is a whitish base & makes the skin so smooth porcelain & flawless looking - beautiful.

I want to know what the difference is other than the porcelain affect.

Well you know that I'm right there with ya

The Blanc has that kind of a pearl illuminating look to it. My hubby bought it for me because I raved at how it made the skin on the back of my hand look in the store

It makes the skin look so pretty.

I think my counters don't have Spark. Off to find out the number for easier searching at the counter.

Those caps! I don't really like them. I need to use some force, yes.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I've been obsessively checking Chanel.com for them to release the 3 new polishes & today I decided to check some dept store sites & I saw they had them available for pre-order on Neiman Marcus & they have a free shipping code atm for beauty purchases (BTYBAG) so I decided to order Mistral & Nouvelle Vogue, now I don't have to stalk Chanel.com anymore

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I've decided that I love the Glossimers - I've had a couple in the past, but must have been too distracted by MAC. I picked up a few more today, and can't wait to wear them. I got the last of Myriade (which must have been l/e), Blizzard, Paillettes, Jupiter and Wild Rose. A couple of weeks ago I picked up Nebula and Mica, which I absolutely love and have been wearing almost every day over other lip colors. This is now an obsession, and definitely an indulgence, but the gloss bar has been raised!
