Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I must get the Coco before Chanel DVD if I can.

Glossimer fans, I want to recommend Courtisane, which was released in the 2009 fall collection, Les Venice. It is bright rose pink, almost opaque but with fine shimmers I think. I receive compliments several times when wearing it, so it must be very pretty.

Does anyone know when this collection will be released? I asked my MA at the Chanel counter yesterday but she doesn't know and none of her co-workers either. Boo!

Do you mean the gold one? I don't know when (maybe check Temptalia), but I'm pretty sure it's only going to be in Chanel boutiques.

The aqualumiere gloss in Bondi Beach looks like it might be pretty!

I'm excited to check out Genial, all four glosses, Nouvelle Vague and Mistral. Is Gloss Fluo is a new gloss formula?

And some swatches

I'm not sure, but I don't think the Gloss Fluos are new. At least, I'm 99% sure I saw some on Strawberrynet a while back. They seem to apply pretty sheerly though.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I posted awhile ago that I was trying to get the new Hydramax lip moisturizer, which everyone is still out of. So, last weekend I was given a sample of the new Hydramax face moisturizer. I love it! I do have the green one, but this one is supposed to be different & it is. It soaks right into the skin without any greasy feeling or residue. I've been using it for several days now & all of my dry skin is gone. Plus, up until using Chanel, all moisturizers broke my skin out. This one did not I am very happy to say. The down side is that it is $72. At my age though I need it

^^ Which one are you using? There are quite a few moisturizers from the Hydramax line. I'm using my second tub of moisture boost gel cream because I like the fragrance and texture.

Thanks, they look very sheer. Maybe I can pass.

Ladies, I'm excited! Rouge Coco will be launched here next Friday! Apparently, we can get a Rouge Coco novelty badge with any Rouge Coco purchase. I'm not sure if there is only one design but if there are more than one and only one is given with each purchase, then perhaps I have to buy as many lipsticks to collection them all.

I was using the active green cream & now I'm using the new nourishing cream. I LOVE love how they smell too

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Hello Ladies! I just checked out the Les Pop-up nail polishes and they are beautiful! I posted pics in the swatch forum if you care to take a peek. I love all three but decided to go with Riviera and Nouvelle Vague. Riviera is a really bold bright pink. My friend who is NC15 described it as 80's ish but fun, I love it because its pops against my skintone. Nouvelle Vague is a great fun color too, totally not what I expected- not electric ( which is what I expected) but not entirely a subdued creamy turquoise.
Mistral, I liked alot but decided to pass- its seems very dupable ( sheer pink with gold shimmer) maybe I'll get it next week when I go back to check out the lipcolors.

Pink Sugar lipliner is the most gorgeous pink lipliner I've ever seen. I'm loving wearing it all by itself with just a little Seashell glossimer.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I bought Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle and Gardenia today!
th_DANCE.gif
I was surprised when I saw Rouge Coco at the counter today, along with the new fragrance, Chance Eau Tendre. Eau Tendre didn't win me over so I'm going to wait and try it a few times before deciding if I like it.

The counter was very busy and customers were very excited about the lipsticks and the novelty badges. There are many designs of the badges and I can't possibly collect them all. The SA said that we couldn't choose but she did let me pick one that I really like and randomly gave me another.
heart.gif
I will take pics when the light is better tomorrow. Unfortunately, it seems my country is not getting Teheran.
ssad.gif
Egerie wasn't flattering on me so I passed.

I'm glad you got your lipsticks finally. But SO jealous you got one of those cute bags!!

I also went to Chanel today and got a pressed powder compact. It's really nice - very sheer, reminds me of MAC Blot but is much more finely milled. The colour match was fine too. So thanks everyone for the recs!

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I got the badges, not the bag. Now I wish I bought more Rouge Cocos yesterday and I really want Teheran but it is only available online in the US right?
ssad.gif

Does anyone find it a bit difficult to close the cap? I read that the caps were designed to fit snugly but I find that it doesn't close when I press down lightly and instead I need to wiggle the cap a little and apply more force to push it down. As for the scent, I could not detect anything when I tried them at the counter but once I got home and opened them, I could smell the light fruity rose scent which is definitely lighter than Rouge Hydrabase and Rouge Allure.

So here are the badges.

Mademoiselle, Gardenia.

A comparison of Rouge Hydrabase and Rouge Coco. Hydrabase is in the middle. Rouge Coco feels much heavier than Hydrabase.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

The badges are very cute! Do you love Gardenia as much as I do? How does Mademoiselle look on you? It didn't look too great on me, alot of darkish brown-orange tones to it. It seems like it looks great on some people but not others depending on skin tone and lip pigmentation and I'm not one of the lucky ones. I'm not sure that I've completely given up on it yet though. I'd like to try it with Pink Sugar lipliner but right now it's out of stock everytwhere here. Teheran was LE, available here online only thru Chanel and is sold out. I got one BNIB thru a swap on MUA but it too does not look good on me so I put it up for re-swap there. Feel free to PM me if you're interested in it.

I also managed to get my hands on a Beiges de Chanel quad thanks to a search by a very nice Nordstrom SA and it is gorgeous!

Edited to say I have not noticed that problem with the Rouge Coco caps.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Thanks. Maybe I need to get use to the caps, and use a little more strength.
winks.gif

Are your lips pigmented? I have not try the lipsticks yet except briefly at the counter with strong lighting. Once I got Gardenia on my lips, I fell in love with it. While Gardenia is pink, Mademoiselle did look brown on me but I decided to get it anyway to experiment. I hope it doesn't look brown-orange on me too because that colour does not work on me. I will wear the lippies next week and give my thoughts. Thanks for your recommendation on Pink Sugar, I will try it the next time I'm at the counter.
smiles.gif

Did you try Egerie? How does it compare to Teheran on you? I tried Egerie and it looked muddy peachy-orange on me and washed me out. Not flattering. I was disappointed so I thought Teheran might be good.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I have not seen or tried Egerie. Teheran looks like a brightish pinky coral on me, definitely doesn't wash me out, I just don't care for it. My lips are quite pigmented, yes. Pink Sugar l/l and Seashell glossimer are supposedly the official Chanel recs for Mademoiselle.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Is Maline a close dupe of Seashell? I remember looking for Seashell at my counter before but we don't have it. I will try to find it again at the counter, noted number is 87.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Don't know...unfortunately I don't have a counter closer than 1.5 hours away so have not seen Maline. But I would describe Seashell as a peachy opal.

Edited to say I just tried Pink Sugar l/l with Teheran and now I really like it.
yes.gif
It also looks great topped with Seashell!
