OK, quick thoughts since DH and I are headed out for sushi...I really like Bikini Peach, but yeah, it's just a slightly peachier version of my lips. Still, really pretty on. One of those colors you can slap on and head out the door. Great for a smokey eye.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Back from Las Vegas and pooped....but I managed to find Kaska Beige quad (the last one at Macy's - Nordstrom had just sold their last one earlier in the day), Bikini Peach (which I agree is somewhat meh, but will try it again tomorrow), Mademoiselle Rouge Coco, and Freeze Aqualumiere gloss.

The Chanel guy at Nordstrom (who drove me insane by putting moisturizer OVER my makeup - gag) tried their 'high end' moisturizer on me (did not tell me the name, but I'm assuming it's the radically expensive one) and I did like the results (though I had to leave the store with no face makeup after that - who DOES that???). I don't think I'll plunk down the bucks for that, but it was a nice result. He had to also point out my myriad skin deficienies (gee, thanks). I was set to buy the 3-4 things I went in for, but they were out of stock of everything but the Rouge Coco. Very annoying. But I went to Macy's and got the rest of it.
tong.gif

Did not get a chance to go to NM or Sak's to check out Chantecaille Glee - by that time (very long story) I was dead on my feet and had to call it a day.

So this weekend I'll play with my new goodies once the jet lag subsides.....

I now have to try Super Rouge Allure.....I'm also on the hunt for Astral glossimer.....Nordstrom still had the tester out but no stock (gee, what a surprise). And maybe Futile (is that the name?).......

that is just silly - never ever heard of moisturizer over makeup - gross!

Actually, our Saks has a dude that is just like that & I avoid him. Hubby said he is forbidden to wait on me because he is so insulting.

I wonder if he used that new hydramax moisturizer that I just bought? it was $72

maybe you should exchange it with something you really like.

Nah, I don't consider it exchange-worthy. Like Purrtykitty said it's one of those colors you can just slap on and head out the door.

I think he used the Sublimage cream that retails for $375 - he had to be dreaming if he thought I was going to buy it after a) he ruined what was left of my makeup and b) telling me about everything wrong with my skin and c) first telling me I had nice skin and THEN telling me what the issues are (as if I don't know). Blech! Too much of a pressure sell. I can't stand people who can't read customers.

I may try to snag a sample at my Nordie's to try it further - still not paying that kind of money for a jar of moisturizer (I have very good luck with Olay Regenerist, thank you very much).

Still loving Shontay's primer (I really think they should consider renaming it in her honor

) -

Elegant, did you pick up the Base Lumiere?

Maybe you should check out Lift Lumiere or Eclat Lumiere in their lightest shades on your next time at your counter.

Lift lumiere is very sheer, but really moisturizing. I love it since my lower eye lids tend to dry.

Maybe it was the Hidramax + tinted moisturizing... I use it over my makeup on my dry zones all the time!!

As my skin is a drastic combination one, I must moisturize (Hidramax + Serum and cream gel) really good my dry parts prior make up, then I use oil free matifying make up (Mat lumiere). As the day goes by and my dry parts of my face begging to crave for moist and the oily ones begging to melt, I blot my face, retouch and add powder and the tinted moisturizer where it's needed.

Hi Dear! Glad you're back

Yes, I am definitely going to have to check them out in person. There is also that highlight pen - I am curious about it too.

I hope you like Shontay's Lumiere - I don't think I got the full benefit of it in Vegas due to the extremely dry climate, but it was still excellent. I'm glad to be back in my own environment and hope my skin bounces back soon.

I'm going to try to hit Nordie's today to see what else from Chanel I must have

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I just saw the lip swatches on Temptalia for Genial RA and it looks gorgeous! However her lip swatches always look lighter so I would imagine it darker IRL. I excited! Hope it looks good on me.

Does the pump of Lift Lumiere dispense too much each time? When it was launched I tried the texture and liked it but not the pump as I feel it might be messy. My eye lids, both upper and lower, are dry and I hope it helps minimise the fine lines. They aren't so dry in the past so now I moisturise my eye area diligently. I just started using the Ultra Correction Line Repair anti wrinkle eye cream this month.

I finished a tube of stylo eclat lumiere highlighter pen in 10, biege tendre. While I like it, it provides light coverage so it cannot hide my dark eye circles effectively. I have very dark eye circles.

I think Genial is so pretty. But yeah, her colors are not always accurate.

I have dark circles too, so I prefer more coverage. I love waterproof concealer. But, then its drying

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

^^ Have you tried the famous cle de peau concealer? It is pricey but creamy and gives good coverage and not drying. I'm currently using it and on some days when I have extra time or need a more formal, flawless look I will top it with YSL's highlighter.

The pump in Lift Lumiere does dispense a bit more than I'd like, but pressing gently gives me the right amount.
th_wink3.gif
While it does moisturize and gives you "Chanel glow", it doesn't give enough coverage for my taste,
ssad.gif
so I use it for those days when I don't need much or don't want much.

I think the Eclat Lumiere is not intended as a concealer but as a highlighter.
th_dunno.gif
I use it over concealer in the inner and the outer corner of my eyes. It's really nice for touch ups also.
smiles.gif

On a regular basis I use CLinique's All about eyes concealer in addition to a salmon corrector, as it's moisturizing and covers nicely.

I bought Genial ls today - its GORGEOUS!!! The prettiest pinky coral. I love love it. I loved the color so much, that I bought a skirt that had the same colors in it

Darling was kind of a disappointment to me. It didn't look 'Pink' to me.
