Skin care is an obsession too - obviously.

That would be fun to have that time out with the girlfriend!

The stores were having their makeup events this weekend & boy were women shopping & swatching & buying. You couldn't hardly even get close to test the makeup or walk through the stores.

Makeup events are going on in my town, too. Someone from a Dior counter called me, but I'm not into Dior like I once was. I can only imagine the crazy scene at some of the stores.

I only use Diorshow waterproof mascara. I was going to get another during Sephoras sale - but it sold out

The shopping was off the hook this weekend - it was at Christmas levels

I'm really frightened I get really hooked to La Mer.

Is it a highlight powder or can it be used all over?

Almond is one of the brightest shiniest Poudre Douces so I don't suggest to use it all over, especially if you have large pores or/and a oily face. I think is an awesome highlighter, it really does the job without being that obvious.

My daughter in law isn't quite into it like me - yet! She likes Bobbi Brown, but told me the other day she is really getting into Chanel
greengrin.gif

Yesterday, I bought her Bobbi Browns cheek tint in sheer pink - its soooo pretty. I send her makeup all the time. I even bought her a pair of those colorful mini tweezerman tweezers the other day. Since I only have a son - I LOVE sharing everything girly with her.

I looked at my stash this morning

My mom just turned 82 & she never was big on a lot of makeup although I do remember her wearing a bright red lipstick when I was very young.

My mom turns 75 this year and never wore much makeup either, but her oldest sister was a makeup maven (and in her day an Avon lady

) so I must have gotten the bug from her......my mom has always been amazed/amused at my obsession.......can't help it.

Let me know how you like the concealer.....I may see if I can snag a sample when I go to Nordie's mid-week.....I don't have underye circle problems, but like to 'brighten' the area.....I've always had pretty good luck with Bobbi Brown's concealer system. I don't always wear it though, I must confess. Sometimes I forget

No idea where I got the makeup gene...no one, on either side of my family loves makeup like I do. Must be some sort of awesome mutation.

I could only wish that I didn't need concealer - you are majorly lucky! I would like to try a sample first too.

I just ordered Maui as well - I've been wanting to try these so now seemed as good a time as any. I also ordered the Chantecaille Glee gloss that everyone raves about.

I have to travel again in a week - it's always such a challenge to decide what makeup to bring with me!!

Hi momma spy!

My mum doesn't wear makeup except lipstick on special occasions - not even once a year sometimes. I suspect she thinks makeup is frivolous. She used to oppose to me buying so much but now she sees it as my hobby and since it makes me happy, she has softened.
smiles.gif

Try it.

Is it a highlight powder or can it be used all over? Also, for those of you who recently purchased Genial l/s is it milky? I am looking for a hot, bright, more on the orange side coral.

I have Almond and when I just bought it, I used it all over my face after liquid foundation and it was a bit too shimmery, but nothing that shimmery or metallic like MSF. I love the texture. I think Almond is best used to brighten up the complexion, maybe after powdering the whole face. As a highlighter it is very subtle. I want to buy another Poudre Douce in a beige shade to use all over my face.

I'm bummed!

My mom is a big makeup girl. She always has makeup on and is supportive of my makeup habits lol! I think it's coz we're Persians though, never met Persian women that aren't into makeup.

Happy day today!!! I went to Nordie's (I am on vacation this week
yahoo.gif
) and picked up the following, in no particular order:

  1. Chanel Crystalline powder in Rosee (I think that's the type of powder it is - it's gorgeous!!) - I did a 'pre-sale' on this for Nordie's upcoming beauty event and will combine it with some glossimers to get the 'free' gift........
  2. Sample of La Mer concealer - will try it tomorrow to see how I like it
  3. Sample of $375 Sublimage moisturizer
  4. Bobbi Brown Antigua Illuminating Bronzing Powder (nod to elegant....
    th_worship.gif
    )
  5. #8 MUFE HD blush (PDA) - got the LAST one, in the drawer - my lucky day
  6. Dior Dentelle blush - the one that is sold out EVERYWHERE - got the ONLY one
  7. Sephora Contour Blush brush for MUFE HD blush application

winkiss.gif

The Dior blush is called 'Edition Dentelle' blush poudre couleur & lumiere 'glowing powder blush' in #839 Vintage Pink. It has a lace imprint on the blush itself, and is two-sided - blush/highlight. I read about it I think on Karlasugar's blog, and had been lemming it ever since, but I thought I waited too late - it's been sold out for quite awhile.......

I will keep you posted on the concealer - cannot wait to try the BB illuminating bronzer too.....I almost like Antigua better than Maui, but I only saw them online and thought I would like Maui better...oh well, when I get it I'll try it and see. If you love them both, I'm sure I will too!

Make me want to hunt that blush down

You know, I posted the other day how I wanted a waterproof concealer (I do have MUFE) Smashbox just came out with a waterproof natural looking concealer - launched only on QVC today! I got one to check it out.

Both Antigua & Maui looked beautiful - I couldn't decide so thats why I got both. I read where those that bought Antigua bought Maui - for the same reason

Ooooh, you have a MUFE concealer? Which one? How do you like it? I'm keeping the MUFE board alive by my fingertips. You should drop by some time.
