I was thinking - it would be nice if we got early colors/swatches etc. from Chanel like we do the MAC collections

Yes, it would be! If I lived closer to Boston and worked that Saks counter manager awhile, I'm sure I could get info out of her....but alas, I don't. I seem to know more than my local MAs.......and that drives me bonkers.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I went by the Chanel counter at Bloomingdales yesterday. I saw the neutral collection (I guess that's what it's called?). Nothing jumped out at me. Then I had to bolt b/c the MA knows me and I didn't want to feel obligated to buy something.

I know that feeling. It annoys me especially if they start a sales pitch on me or try to talk me into some crazy random thing - hello, I'm shopping right now

I found Crybaby, Soda, Bubbles and a few others (when I get home tonight I'll get the names). What was I thinking??? I mean, they're BRAND NEW!

I was so ecstatic!!!

OMG, what a fun find! I'm sort of ecstatic just hearing about it.

I can't wait to hear what you think of them too.

I will be strong and resist Futile...I cannot say the same for Waterlily or Courtisane however.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

On the topic of concealers, I have a list of them that I'm interested in trying, have any of you used the following:

Chanel Correcteur Perfection (gel based and "long lasting")
Chantecaille Total Concealer (sounds ridiculously awesome)
Dior Diorskin Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer (mmm, hydrating!)
Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Protective Undereye Concealer (longest name wins?)

I'm looking for an undereye formula, I'm quite happy with MAC's concealers for any minor face issues.

Also open to suggestions...have one you love? Share!

I tried the Diorskin and liked it so far. Depending how pale you are you might find it too dark, but now for summer it works for me. My SA gave me a sample and I really liked it.
I have some MUFE Concealers on the way to me, so I will try those first. But the next on my list is definitely the Diorskin.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

So, I'm trying a new (for me) skin care product. Its a moisturizing (not cleansing) oil. Tonight will be my first night to give it a shot.

I bought it from QVC -A95954 - Josie Maran Argan oil. It gets a 5 star (70 reviews) with great reviews! Good for skin, hair, nails. You may want to read about it.

I was thinking today that Chanel is one of the few companies that to my knowledge hasn't jumped on the oil bandwagon.
I love trying new things.

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

I've been thinking about trying that Argan oil myself (imagine that, lol). I'm a little freaked out about the fact that it's an oil though (will it break me out? etc.). Since moving here to Colorado my skin has changed from sort of oily to dry and bleh...it took a while to find a skincare routine to deal with that. I'm scared to change anything now, but I might give this a try if you love it.

Ooh, and I just ordered 5 more nail polishes. I finally finished going through my nail polish stash and tossed out everything that had spoiled/was way too old...and found room for more new colors!

Yippee!! My Dreams quad arrived today (very unusual!! I'm not used to the circular pans, and the texture is very odd too - based on the lack of mineral oil I'm guessing)....and I got my Smashbox concealer! I will be trying both of these tomorrow!!

And.....ta da!! Here are my newly-found lovelies......

Not the greatest pic, but oh well.

We're such chickens, it cracks me up!

Logically I can't imagine it doing much harm, only good things...but then I think about it more, proceed to spaz out and picture myself with skin like leathery cheese and promptly put down the bottle of new product.
shockt.gif

Awww, sisters...I should be so lucky! I'm an only kid who always wanted an older brother to beat people up.
lol.gif

Oooooh, but...if we're sisters that means we can share make-up, shower creams, nail polish and skincare stuff all while eating ice cream, watching QVC and reading magazines before heading out shopping...I'm all for that!

I touched on it a bit in my summer essentials post. I'll probably do a more comprehensive review once I've finished it and the Korres Watermelon sunscreen I got.

Cry Baby is old skool Chanel (for me, anyway)...from 2004. Those glossimers and matching nail polish were my very first Chanel purchase.

Well, I figured with all those really good reviews it should be all right - man I hope so. I'm only using a teeny tiny bit to start with. It should be awesome for the cuticles.

No, I have an older brother & he beat up/picked on ME

Aww, I'm glad you like it! I figured since we don't have a Chanel smiley (yet) I'd make my own. I actually just google image searched for the Chanel logo (found that one and liked it the most!), sized it down to the size of my "never enough pink lipsticks" smiley and did some cutting and pasting in Paint. I liked it so much I did the same thing for a bottle of bright pink China Glaze nail polish.

My signature is on the way to becoming a few of my favorite things!
