It can be applied very sheerly and blended out, or built up to a darker tone. It's like a condensed mousse in the jar, but the texture is very light on the skin because your brush doesn't pick up too much. It
does have a scent (that sort of fresh and sophisticated sort of scent?), but I actually really like it. I buff it with a flat-top brush as a subtle contour.
I was going to put up some swatches for you, but as soon as I turned my camera on, it tells me the battery is dead. (At this point, I looked at my bronzer-striped arm and laughed. At least my arm smells good.
)
So for the color, it definitely has a yellow undertone to it--unlike Benefit Hoola, etc. where the color is just straight-up tan/brown. I'd say it's a nice golden brown sort of color, but if you apply it very heavily (and I mean really heavily), a hint of orange comes through. This shouldn't really be a concern unless you plan to apply it heavily, or if your skin leans on the very yellow or very pink side (very yellow would accentuate that subtle orange-ness, very pink might find that a golden-based color looks out of place?). I suppose that nixes both extremes.
However, for me, the color very much mimics the way my skin looks when I'm suntanned after I blend it out (I'm NC20-ish year round).
