Ok, well I haven't seen anyone post on this... but... man was it good.
Despite all of the controversy surrounding it, I'm excited to see what we can do next. When I say "We" I don't just mean Americans, but the world. What do you guys think?

PS. I just put this in deep thoughts because of the political nature of this question.

I think it's going to be important for those who didn't vote for Obama to be supportive of him as President. We've seen how damaging having a divided country can be, and I think disagreement can be respectful and compromises reached, if everyone moves forward as one.

That's what I hope for at least.

The OBAMA Inaugeration

The INAUGURATION...I got so excited I didn't even spell it right in the title. Sorry! I apologize in advance if anyone has already posted on this.

I just wanted to express how overjoyed I am to have been able to be alive to witness this day in history. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be watching such a surreal event take place.

I made sure my ten year old and I watched this together. She needed to know that this is a pivotal stage in history. My daughter needed to see that not only is Obama the first black president, but history is being made every step of the way and hopefully one day she can share the story with her own children.

As Americans of all races, I hope we are honored to have Pres. Obama in office. I am hoping his eloquence, knowledge, and belief in change will help steer our country in a positive direction.

God Bless America!!! God Bless the World!!!

I was so giddy and so emotional. I cried really hard when he walked out LOL By the time he was giving the speech I was all dried out. I watched it so intently, and I had my daughter watch it with me. She's too young to understand it, but it was important to me that she watch it. She would clap when I clapped, so she celebrated too hehe. The speech was amazing. He was so bold and sincere, it was marvelous.

I loved his speech. It was so different to the others i've seen (and also loved). It was just so...honest, succint and frank.

I also loved his speech.. I'm very proud to have him as our president! I'm at work today but my boss was cool enough to put it on his TV in his office and we all sat in there and watched.

It was great to see history being made, and I'm glad my vote contributed to his being elected.

I am happy to refer to him as he is now... President Obama.

He was brave and decided to go down there today, I was considering going with him to photograph as well, but I start my semester tomorrow and couldn't risk not making it back home in a timely manner.

Yeah, about that live feed... it started messing up and I ran into another room to listen to the radio. I got there just in time.

I didn't vote for him, but I do want him to succeed as President and do well! If he crashes and burns, we all do.

I am proud that a black man got elected, but at the same time, I really don't think it's that big of a deal. I think putting the emphasis on race and making it a big deal is kind of backwards. But then again I'm white and I haven't known the struggles of others

Go Obama!!

It's only a big deal when people keep bringing up the color of his skin....Which at this point is not what his being president is about.
I am proud that a good man with good values got elected no matter what his skin color.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when the honeymoon is over and people stop worshiping him as the new cool, trendy celebrity.

First of all I just gotta say - President Obama's daughters are the cutest of the cute. Seriously they are just too adorable and every time I see them my heart goes Awww! >_< The whole family is gorgeous and they looked splendid for thier big day.

I set my alarm and got up at 3:30am to watch the inauguration here in Melbourne. It was worth it (although Katy Couric's voice was a bit grating on my ears so early in the AM's!). I really enjoyed his speech and for the first time since I was a youngster and didn't know much about the ways of the world and what people were capable of - I felt PROUD to be an American. Seeing it all unfold in my home town which I have been away from for 14 years now made me smile and wish I was there as it happend. There were soooo many people there though!! I don't know if there would have been room for me anyway

I hope that President Obama lives up to all of our expectations after that marvelous speach he gave which was filled with hope and the promiss of a better furture for American's. And no his skin colour is not important but it sure was beautiful to witness or first African American President being sworn in and seeing the faces of people in the crowd who lived during segregation filled with light and joy. Many of them never imagined that they would live to see the day that an event like this would occur. America has come a long way and while it is not a big deal to some, to the rest of us it is proof that anything is possible and that there are opportunities for everyone. Good luck America!
