Mac is not going to tell you that they sell to anyone other than their own stores. They simply do not divulge that information. If you look at all the cosmetics out there on ebay, call each company of those cosmetic lines and see what they tell you when you ask them the same question. They will all tell you no. There are so many ways to get cosmetics direct from the factory. Of course if I tell you how, I give away what I do for a living. Try this sometime, buy a genuine mac product, take it home for a few days, then go back to the counter and say this "I bought this on ebay, can you tell me if its fake?" I guarantee that 9 out of 10 times they will tell you it is fake. I have done this test before. Its funny. They don't even know their own product. This is no joke.

The only guarantee I can give you is that when I recieve the items, I will refund. But, I have to have them in my hand first. You can only go on my word. If you choose to go through paypal for this, which is totally fine with me, the will tell you to return the items with tracking and when tracking shows I have recieved it, they give you your money. Once again, I am a very honest person. I do not sell fake products nor do I take advantage of anyone. I also do not allow anyone to take advantage of me. I try very hard to always do the right thing.

what ya all think???

just emailed closetmustgo asking for proof of where she purcahsed the items
reply was

OMG> JUST SEND THEM BACK> You will never be satisfied with what I can offer you as proof.

is this the reply from a honest seller? i think not, im a seller also (not mac may i add) and if soemone asked for proof of purchase and i had it id send it
and another email below

Mac will never admit they are real. We do not need to discuss this any further. I just do not have the time. Nor the patience
to deal with it. I SELL ONLY GENUINE PRODUCTS> I WILL NEVER SELL FAKES> Just send the stuff back already.

what is she on?????

If it were the case that major companies were lying about 'no selling via warehouse/bulk discount/factory second' than the following would be true:
- Ebay, and other auction sites would be flooded with real MAC rather than the multitude of fake crap we see on there.
- MAC wouldnt be so adamant about the whole denouncing of MAC sales through non-MAC means.
- MAC most likely wouldnt have put their foot down about sample sales on ebay.
- These 'warehouse' sites that members are finding would be selling authentic MAC.
- Companies outside of the MAC name would be selling genuine MAC - and there would be evidence of this from members on here (no one has ever come across this).

Why would a major high end brand sell its products for less than they could get at their outlets, given that they have perfectly good CCO's that they can flog them from - they wouldnt pawn them off to an outside party so that they can get the profit. This just doesnt make any busness sense.

MAC goes to great length to protect its brand quality - why on earth would they sell factory seconds when they throw away products that have been returned even though they obviously havent been opened (and even if they havent even left the store!) I have doubts that they would give dodgy MAC to companies/outside people to sell on to the public. In fact im pretty sure ive read somewhere that these imperfect items go to employees/for store use (though correct me if this is not the case).

Hello i sent you a message through ebay but ive gotten no reply so far so here I am again.
I was just concerned with the color of the Green Brown pigment i purchased from you, its more gold in color then it should be i believe. I have compared it with photos of swatches of Green Brown and it really does'nt look the same. I know that you would not purposly send me a fake, but my guess is that you did'nt know it was fake either. Ill show you the photos.

This is the Green Brown Pigment i purchased from you:

and this is a swatch of what Green Brown is supposed to look like:

What do you think?
is there a possibility of being issued a refund if i send them back to? Did you buy all the pigments from the same place? Im just concerned that ive found this one to be fake the other 2 may be as well if you got them from the same supplier. Nothing personal at all, and i know you are a very respected seller, but im sure its extremly hard to distribute mac as you do without at least one fake showing up.
Anyways hope to hear back from you soon.

Thanks

This is all the proof you need really!

With the product traffic she has and due to being a business, she would certainly have receipts and documents (if not to keep records, than for tax purposes) that she can scan/take photos of.
She would have sent this proof to julie also - no one refunds 24 items when they have proof of authenticity!

Keep on digging a hole darling!

I hope she refunds you cost + postage, and please get tracking!
Good luck!

hopefully she will start to realize that THERE IS a possibility her pigments are fake sence shes obviously getting alot of emails with people asking for refunds. As i see now theres a few of us. I think im only going to buy MAC from the store direct now, and possibly on here from the people who are not in it just for the money. Never again ebay!

I find that rather strange that with the product traffic you have and due to being a business, you would certainly have receipts and documents (if not to keep records, than for tax purposes) to show proof of authenticity?
Surely you will need these to prove to paypal that they are in fact genuine?

lets see what i get off this email

Here is the thing. I do not and can not divulge such information in order to protect the companies I deal with . Asking me for
such information is asking me to give out private information that is confidential.

BUT in her first email she STATES she can prove to paypal these are legit mac items
how can she prove it if she cant divulge her suppliers?
am i now just being a fussy mare LOL

I apologize that you did not get a reply. HOwever I did not get your email. Ebay has been having a lot of issues with its message system over the last few weeks.

I appreciate your email below. You are right, I don't sell fake merch.

For me to go into the product differences would honestly take more time than its worth. The reason I say this is everything I would have to say is really hard to believe and most people don't believe it. I probably would not either. Mac is a respected company. But, their product consistency is not good. You may or may not have noticed this just from your dealings with the mac counter. I know I have. I am a former cosmetics consultant for a large scale high end department store, so I know how many of the cosmetic lines work.

You are welcome to just send the item back to me. It really is just too hard to prove to you in an email that my items are authentic.. This is why my new listings state that you have to take my word for authenticity and if that is not adequit, don't buy from me. Not telling you that, just telling you what my new listings state.

I forgot to mention, that I can not open links.

so she cant see the photos i showed her, i dont know why she would'nt beable to open links :S but at least she is allowing the return/refund, i told her im returning all 3. this was my reply to her:

Thanks for understanding, I purchased 3 pigments Green Brown, Kitchmas, and Frozen White, i was hoping to send all 3 back (just cause im paranoid now) I guess I just should have never purchased them from ebay in the first place becuase like you said i have to just take your word, theres no real way for me to know, and as a paranoid person Id rather not have them,
Especially with the off color of the Green Brown, which is the real main reason for me asking for the refund.
I will send them back to you in their boxes, express post on monday morning. Sorry for the inconvience.

I cant wait to have my money back lol so i can buy REAL mac pigments

Way to go girls, stick your ground, send the pigments back with tracking so you have proof it was received, get your $$ back and stay off ebay. I'm super scared now and as much as I LOVE Sunpepper, I won't buy any pigments other than from MAC. Yeeesh counterfeit sellers should be taken out back and shot (if they were doing it on purpose, I can see how somehow a legit person may have one slip). May the rest use their counterfeit pigments and get some weird-o eye disease from the funky ingredients!

Thanks hun, im actually apart of a forum called specktra.net i dont know if you've heard of it, but the ladies on there are VERY helpful when it comes to spotting fakes and all the details about MAC in general. Anyways tho, they have all sorts of guides about mac products on there including the ebay ones. But thank you very much anyways. Thats actually where i got the other photo of the green brown pigment i tryed to show you.

OK - that guide was written by wc-racer and let me tell you right now that its SO far out of date it isnt funny. I personally wrote to her to let her know of the updates to fakes and she either doesnt care or couldnt be bothered because she never checked to see what they were. That particular guide is at least 1 1/2 years out of date (I mailed her early last year!!) and it WONT apply to current fake pigments!!
