I like the pigments... they seem a little hmmm like "wetter" ? than the mac ones... it sticks to my base pretty well... the golds are nice, I have just about all of the colors and you can wear them with a base and highlight for something simple. The other posts were right about the weight and price compared to MAC....these are about 10 bucks for a small vial ... ULTA usually has a decent sale... in short, the pigments aren't bad if your trying out some colors.

The HIP Duo's are disappointing if you don't have a base on your eyes first.
I use Mary Kay eye primer for a base and put the HIP shadow over. They have a great lasting power and stay vibrant.
Wetting the shadow works too for an extra pigmented glow. But you have to do it in layers, one usually isn't good enough coverage.

Thanks! I love my collection! I bought them from Wal-Mart, Target, and Walgreens. I also, bought some that were not sold in stores any more off ebay.

I have a few HIP duo shadows, I didn't expect them to have the same pigmentation as MAC or anything, but I'm pretty impressed with them. I just picked up Flamboyant today.

IMO, alot of the colors are like wicked dark, but I personally like really really bright colors, so not alot of the HIP shadows really have alot of appeal for me, but they still have some good colors.

New Loreal Hip products

Has anyone tried these? I saw these at Target last night and I wanted to read a review or two before buying some. Some of the colors are really pretty!

I LOVE the creme liners - they are my holy grail eyeliner. I have the black, brown, and teal, and I plan to get the purple/plum too. The black is amazing - it is jet, jet black, I find it blacker than any other eyeliner I've ever had, including my Blacktrack. It's easier to apply for me, and the other reason I love it - it stays on forever. Longer than fluidlines, longer than anything, and it even stays on my waterline for ages, which is a miracle, because most liners, again, even fluidlines, come off my waterline in under an hour. It's true the teal has a drier consistency but I don't mind - it's not dry per se, just dryer than the other colors. For me it's not hard to use, I just have to dip my brush a couple more times. The color payoff is worth it - teal is so, so pretty. I LOVE the cremeliners

I have three of the pigments - the greenish brown one, the vanilla colored one, and the copper colored one. They're decent...I probably won't repurchase though - for the price, I'd rather spend a bit more and get a MAC pigment. I have a couple of the eyeshadows and I like them a lot, I get good color payoff as long as I use a base. I also have their "paint" equivalent in the beige color - it makes a great eyeshadow base. I wanted to try their shadestick equivalent but I've heard horrible things about it :/

I also have three of their jelly balms - I love these, and I'm not even a lip gloss person. They smell like caramel and give a hint of color and lots of shine to your lips, and the shine is NOT frosted. Where can you find that these days?

I got all my HIP stuff BOGOF, so it came out quite decently priced.

I have to agree, I just got the black and eggplant and they last alllll day. I can only get it off with eye make- up remover. Fluidline always wears away on me pretty quickly!

Does any1 used HIP's pencil eyeliner? It's about $8.00. It's half the price of MAC so I kinda want to try it out to save some $$$. The Brown #955 looks just like Duck Powerpoint.

HiP is my favorite makeup line. The colors are very pigmented... VERY pigmented. I was going to a party one day wearing the pink eyeshadow from the pot thing, and my mom made me wash most of it off because I looked like a hooker. I love the HiP mascara too. Wal-Mart, which carried the HiP in my area, stopped having it so I can't buy anymore though. I'm gonna have to check Walgreen's.

I got a HIP pigment in the sale, and it was ok, nothing to rave on about. No better in my opinion than the cheaper Barry M or Collection 2000 pigments.

I got these lipglosses last night. Kinda messy, but they're pretty, sheer colors. It's also awesome how you can mix between duos. The packaging is kinda difficult though I need to play around with these some more.

The kohl eyeliner, I got it in black cause the gold, teal colors were gone

. I swatched it on my hand, I haven't got time to play with it, but it was very strong and you can layer it to make it more pigmented.

Yes, it's awesome, and very pigmented. OMG, the black on the waterline = love. Get it, it's worth it.

I like HIP. I got into it just as I was getting into makeup and its a great starter line. Of course its not going to have the same payoff as Mac, that's why you get what you pay for. Nonetheless, depending upon what you buy in the line, will determine the payoff. All of the HIP products I own have excellent payoff and are much more pigmented than other drug store makeup lines.

I really like the pencil eyeliners. They aren't as creamy as Mac or UD somehow, but they NEVER move or smudge and they last longer on my waterline than anything else, and I find they apply well.

So which HIP duo eyeshadows are great, and which ones are just average? I've been wanting to get some, but wasn't sure which were the hits and which were the misses. For instance, I heard that the purple shade in Flamboyant is not that pigmented.

I have Shady, which I don't really like. It's very dull and..blah. Rascal is much better..it has some shimmer and beautiful colors. I have tried Flare and I like it..but that's all the duos I have/have tried. I'm not ahuge e/s person. I really like the pigments, but be sure to buy them onsale (otherwise they're more expensive than MAC for price to quantity). I've only tried a few MAC pigments, but these are seriously comparable. I also like that they have a sifter and come in smaller containers as I could never finish a full size MAC one. If you're into glosses, I like the glosses in this line too. They're like the colour juices but more pigmented. I'm wanting to try to eyeliners...I've heard great things

I just saw those lip gloss duos tonight at both Ulta and Target. I was tempted to pick one up because some of the colors are very pretty, but I didn't.

I'll tell ya'll this:

The cream liner, the black one in particular, is TO DIE FOR. Screw Black Track f/l. Sorry. I use it every day. It's intense, easy to guide, and it doesn't budge.

The L'oreal HIP line is a good way for me to try out colors without shelling out a lot of money. I buy the e/s in colors that I wouldn't normally go for and if I don't like it, then it's not that big of a loss. I also usually wait until it's BOGO at Walgreen's, it's even less money spent. I have the e/s in Shady, Wicked, and Spirited. Wicked is my favorite so far, a bronze-y gold and purple duo that I wear pretty often to school/work. I also have a couple of cream shadow paints (Secretive and some other one I don't remember) that work pretty well as bases. I think they're pretty pigmented for the price I paid. I would definitely recommend the e/s for those who are just starting out with makeup or who are trying out new colors.
