I read this and got excited b/c I only noticed the first part of your sentence and went straight to the MAC site. Haha. Thought I got lucky and would be able to buy things w/o stalking.

So sorry that some of your orders got canceled. That made me sad. Too bad MAC would not know who is buying the items for their own use or for the profit. Hope any Specktraette who's order got canceled will get their goodies soon.

I ordered one CYY and two Moxie last night. My order is still pending.

To celebrate CYY, I wore CUTiE quad on my eyes, Sakura MB on my cheek, and CYY on my lips today. It was a cute spring like look.

I really like CYY. On me, it looks like a lighter Quick Sizzle. I love bright lips. They make me very happy.

The hype is artificially created because it is LE. If these items were permanently available or in larger quantities (to last a few weeks), people would certainly buy less and/or wait, and then get drawn in by other collections. From that perspective, it is certainly true to state that MAC's approach is in their best business interest. Even the increased prices on eBay will help MAC as this just creates more hype. While this screws over a lot of customers, they can and will continue this practice as the brand is currently so popular. I'm not saying that this is fair or right, but I just want to explain their marketing strategy (which certainly works very well for them).

I stumbled in the shower and apparently toes break easily.
But it's not so bad now - I've to stay at home for the week and can't manage to get my bandaged foot into a shoe - so it's quite good I can' leave the house anyway!
And there's always the internet to keep you occupied!

Finally got my shipping notification

I passed on CYY. I almost got sucked into the hype but I knew I would never wear it.

CYY seems over the top neon for me. I do think its a hot color and love when ppl rock the hell out of it... But I'm not a mua, I don't collect lippies, and barely wear bright lippies outside of the weekend. I purposely skipped it which left more for you all to purchase! If ur anything like me, don't worry about missing out especially if you have other hot pink colors to wear

5:28 am...my order finally shipped. Unfortunately, i am having the beginnings of non-buyers remorse for CYY...what can i say? I'm easily influenced by my buds on specktra!! If I stop reading now -and get ready for work like I should be- i can forget the bright pink goodness everyone is discussing.. lol

THIS. When I was watching the stalking, I noticed that there were like 80+ registered people logged onto the MAC Chat Forums but 100s of guests as well. Just b/c we trust ourselves to buy reasonable amounts doesn't mean we can control all the lurkers. I mean, I stalked Specktra for LE collections for YEARS before I even created my account haha.



My thoughts exactly. I think they were fiddling around with the site and then BAM, it went "live" and everyone freaked out and overwhelmed the servers. They should have pulled the website down for an hour or so. It may not be practical but it's not unheard of. Apple does it and I know Nordstrom did it hours before the anniversary sale started. People started ordering before the 8/6 release and maybe we weren't meant to order an hour early.
I can't even count the number of times I've ignored buying a perm edition item like a blush or lipglass and then RUSHED to buy it once I saw it in the "goodbyes" section. I take the perm items for granted and it's not until it become LE by ways of being on the way out that I pay attention to it.

well im guilty. i just signed up to specktra as of 5 min ago lol after stalking site for months for reviews and product releases. and i was also one stalking the mac website on sunday night. but i only purchased one thing which was one tube of candy yum yum... i repeat ONE (i missed it the first time).i was debating on whether to purchase a second yesterday but was too late.
But helloooo everyone. New member here! finally lol

Anybody think MAC will restock these lipsticks? I bought a CYY yesterday (by the grace of God 'cuz for once the MAC email came to me early in the morning so it was meant to be) - I missed out on it last time. I also opted out of buying Moxie yesterday 'cuz it's not too much different from Party Parrot, but today I want ha! and it's sold out...hmmmmmm. But then again, they could have restocked Supanova, but they didn't and that's a different story (upset about that but whatever). They did bring back Party Parrot and Pink Pigeon weeks after that collection came out and I was lucky enough to get those then. No rants this time because I know how MAC is and I'm already used to it. I think they should be nice and restock at least for this one since we all got to vote.

She has me rethinking Rocker- it was my first MAC lippie back in the day. I liked the color but the formula was super drying for me & the glitter pieces were kind of big. I wonder if they've made any changes to it...I guess I'll wait for my fellow Specktra peeps to get their orders & post swatches. If I change my mind & it's still around, I may pick it up...
