oh and btw, this is totally unrelated but for some reason, i am unable to thank people, like the thanks button is gone?? does anyone kno why that would happen!??

Oh, I can't thank you. Your Thanks button is gone, probably has something to do with that?

And I agree, cool and smokey were the best palettes this year.

Well I broke down and bought Snowscene today while fighting the mobs to get some very last minute shopping done. It is really really gorgeous, but I do remember passing on it before because I figured I wouldn't have too many occasions to wear something so shimmery. My impulsive side won today!!!

I agree with Rbella that this gloss should be paired with something very light. The darkest I think I'd go is Angel l/s.

Happy Holidays everyone!! I hope that you all got what you wanted!!

I recieved snowscene and the penultimate liner in the mail today. I am so happy with both of them. I am going to try and make these the only two things that I get from this collection. Why does money burn a hole in my pocket so badly!?! I must save my Christmas money for BBR!!

I wore Snowscene alone with the taupe eye pencil as a lipliner, looked great.

I'm sorry you think these shadows are so lame and stupid. I hope it doesn't keep others who haven't tried it and might like it from doing so. I like them and personally I don't think I'm lame or stupid.

I agree lustres can be a bitch to work with, but if you are a neutral girl, this collection along with BBR are a dream....

Oddly enough, I found that I had no trouble with these, there was some fallout, but I have fallout with almost every friggin' shadow no matter what formulation. However, I didn't have to pack it on as much as I thought. I actually like these better than Ungaro (can you believe it?). For me, the colors in Ungaro were perfect, but those were a pain in the ass to work with. I'd pack a brush for days before I could get some damn color on my lid!!!

I totally agree with you, all the shadows worked well on me, no fallout and I didn't have to pack them on. Maybe because I'm so fair, but I absolutely love this collection. The lipglasses are gorgeous.

I don't have Snowscene, but if I did, I'd probably pair it either with something extremely sheer like Politely Pink or nude like 3n or Creme D'Nude or Pure Rose (Ungaro). JMO. I would want to keep with the theme of the lipgloss, which is a very, very, wintry and light lip.

I saw that hot pic and you look gorgeous (even if you are secretly wearing the grannies

)! I'll totally take credit for that FOTD.

You know I am a lipglass junkie. I will get both

I don't remember calling these stupid? In any event, simply because I feel a shadow is lame, it doesn't mean that opinion extends to those who like them. Mostly, it bothers me because it makes them pretty limited skintone-wise, and that doesn't really fit with my general view of MAC. They just aren't made to show up on someone who isn't fairly pale, and there are plenty of people with darker skintones out there. It made me kind of frowny.

In any event, I'm glad those of you who love them do. I broke out Electra and Knight Divine for a silver eye yesterday. Same kind of general idea as this collection, but with a bit more payoff and without the cost of new shadows. If I didn't mention it before, Wintersky showed up beautifully on my skin, but it definitely has its dupe in this year's cool eyes palette.

I just think with a bit of tweaking this collection could have been done better, and suited a broader range of people.

Merry Christmas everyone! I got frozen dream l/g for Christmas from my husband.

I don't think I even looked twice at it when I was at the store, but my cute husband bought me a couple stocking stuffers from MAC and that was one of them and it is really beautiful! A light fuschia-pinky color! I love it!

That has been mentioned already throughout this thread.

i think it does smudge and its definitely not waterproof.. i am sure someone will think the opposite.

i answered this a few days ago.

its long-wearing and smudge-, flake-, fade-, and transfer-resistant. obviously -resistant doesn't mean -proof, so it depends on your skin how it'll work.

its not waterproof or water-resistant, and NOT for the waterline.

Yes! Exactly how I feel. Ultimately I am glad that I can save my money, but this happens with quite a few MAC products, like almost the entire Engaro collection, and I could go on and on with face products (cough beauty powders, cough cough) that do nothing for darker skintones. I totally get that MAC can't please everyone all of the time, but try a little harder please. So I appreciate you bringing this up in this thread (the WOC Chill thread has been ranting).

I got my Arctic Grey Monday and I SOOO agree with you!
I've sworn off backups, since my makeup collection surpassed "ridiculously huge" a looong time ago, but I'm going to have to fight a major battle with myself over this one!
I got UD's S & M for Christmas, and it and Arctic Grey worn together make what may turn out to be my favorite soft gray eye design.
