The MSF's and blushes were very shimmery. I've read a few reviews where people said they left a nice 'sheen' on the skin. To me, a sheen is what you get from a beauty powder, think Pearl Sunshine from Barbie. These are shimmery, not glitter, but shimmer. If you are buying sight unseen be aware you will be very sparkly in the sunlight.

Also, the blushes are very similar to the Grand Duo collection. Where in GD the blush was split in the midde, in this collection they are swirled together but overall the colors are similar. For instance, Fandabulous = Hot Planet.

Save your $$ and don't buy into the hype for this.

thanks for the honest review. I love reading all the comments - both good and bad. I haven't gotten anything from this collection yet.. my list is pretty small though (131 brush, 2 MSFs, 1 blush).

the mineralize blushes look pretty but i'm a little worried about the shimmer.. I don't know about you guys but I don't like to apply anything shimmery to my face during the hot summer months

I save most of my shimmery stuff for the fall/winter when my skin tends to lose that glow. but maybe that's just me.. right now I use my matte bronzers by bobbi brown and nars

can't wait to get the brush!

I don't understand why MAC would use ben nye. They could have used chromacakes or pigments to create the promo picture.

I still have not gotten my butt to the MAC counter to pick up my MSFs. I sure hope that they are not gone by the time I get there. I love reading everyone's reviews.

Just got back from the mall...

While I went with the intention of picking up Colour Crafted & Made With Love lipsticks I didn't. I liked Colour Crafted but somehow I had a hard time making the application look even on my lips and this may sound odd but the lipstick felt gritty/rough against my lips (like that of lustre eyeshadow when I swipe my finger against it). I thought Made With Love was nice and quite unique, I almost picked it up but it was too bright on me for my liking.

Hand Finish was more pigmented than I imagined and it was such a nice colour! But it still wouldn't have showed up on my cheeks. Btw, I thought Improvise looked similar to it.

Daft Pink was really pretty and I probably would have picked it up if it wasn't so shimmery.

I picked up 226 as planned. I was going to pick up 2 of these but decided to get one first and try it out to see how I like it. Well....I freaking LOVE
bigheart.gif
this brush I'm going to go back for more!! Like Erine said, it's meant to be an application brush but I could easily just have this one brush for applying shadow to the crease AND blending and be happy. It takes just a tad bit more time to blend than 224. Although I love my 224 as well but this may very well be my new found love!

My MA said they had 13 of the 226 brush left so I'm going to have to act quickly.

Yep, my middle strip is more of an almost-warmish rose shade than raspberry...ITA that it's all in the lighting at the counters - so confusing!

Well, I checked out the counter today, finally! I surprised myself by getting only 1 thing...Smooth Merge. I'm really happy with it. I love the color and it's something that I don't have.

My counter still had a few of the grand duos left. I was actually gonna get Earth to Earth which has been on my mind since it came out, but they accidently had the sample out when they really were sold out of it in acuality (Bummer.)

Anyways, it was nice to compare Love Rock to Deft Pink--the latter was more preferable to me. I couldn't make up my mind about Deft Pink or Hand Finish. They were both so pretty, but I've never had such a pink color that Deft Pink is and Hand Finish although lovely, wasn't quite what I was looking for in a blush I guess. Porcelain Pink didn't quite impress me. As a highlight color I think it would be quite nice though. Triple Fusion was another one that looked really pretty, but in the light it seemed to not "stand out" as much on my skin, if that makes any sense. I'm an NC25--my skin has very yellow undertones, like the darker I get, the more it enhances the yellow-ness (to me, at least).

All in all, it was a nice collection. I don't have anything to say about the l/s or l/g cuz I didn't need anymore, and I didn't really bat an eye at the MES. I would love the 226 and the 131, but I gotta save money when I can, know what I'm saying? (also I really want the 165 when that comes back this fall)

Go figure! The one in Nordies even looked like a brighter blue pink raspberry. But, yeah, my color is like yours.
And, when I swatched the blushes, they barely even showed a little shimmer

Got back from store

Smooth Merge is pretty not as shimmery as that damn triple fusion which was atrocious glitter because SM it has an flatter surface of product. Could MAC do a pink MSF that will look good on all skintones please. This is close but not perfect.

Warm blend is my favorite of the bunch and it is nothing like warmed to me.
nope.gif
but the one of the stripes looks like gold deposit and the middle reminds me of chocolate brown p/g and twinks e/s

Cheeky Bronze is a peachy peach. no hint of pink and will only be to highlight my matte peaches but pretty.

Style demon is hot deep coral/red with a touch of gold.
love.gif

Fabdab is a lighter coral and is so pretty on my skin, NC50.

Improvise, Daft Pink and Hand Finish (although I am thinking this one it has a gold undertone to it, that I liked) could only be highlighers if that to me. They are way metallicky.

What the hell was those MES. Those were more shimmery than the last batch the ones with Sea and Sky (those MES were good) that would cause major clean up on my cheeks when I would attempt to wear them. No sir and dupeable too, come on.

The lipsticks and lipgloss were pretty good to me.
Made to Love is the perfect sheer coral. I am going to rock that with Red Devil when I get it. go on coral overload.
Trimming Talk is pretty because there isn't a hot pink I don't like.

Funky Fusion is a coral pink. I definitely see the coral in this. Pretty Pattern is so a nude gloss for WOC for those who have that plum/pink brown going on in their lips.

Oh, and the 131 is a good brush. It feels light but has a heavy bristle count that pinks up the MSF color really good and maybe it will let you shake off some of the glitter.

Susanne, you were right, Sonic chic was way better in texture and color range and color payoff. Three of these just seem like highlighters unless you are really fair.

In the end I got:
Smooth Merge, Cheeky Bronze and Warm blend
Fabdab and Style Demon
Made for Love

Will be getting Pretty Pattern and Funky Fusion next week.

Nah! I can't justify the $40 and I am in the minority that I don't like the duo fibre brushes. I only have the 187 and I hardly use it. But if you like the duo fibre then 131 this is a must-have.

131 is like the 109 of duo brushes. If you like to use the 187 or 188 for foundation, then the 131 is going to be great because it will let you get in the undereye area because you can use it flat but it will take you longer to apply because it is smaller. I played with the brush a lot in the store. I bet you they thought I was crazy but they were helping other customers which I like because then I can just think.

Damn, I think I want this brush now.

Well, I'm glad I decided against Graphic Gardens and the look in a box, because I went back to B2M for Funky Fusion and ended up picking up a few more items, oops!

So, I ended up getting Hand Finish, Madly Creative (which i already knew I would) and... Sunny By Nature!!! I had no intention of getting this, but I swatched it again, and also saw one of the MA's with it on. She said products turn orange on her oily skin and this one didn't, so... hopefully it won't, lol!

So my (almost) final list:

Smooth Merge
Sunny By Nature
Cheeky Bronze
Hand Finish MB
Daft Pink MB
Madly Creative
Colour Crafted
Miss Marble
Funky Fusion

And I'm redeeming my HBC points to pick up the plummy gloss, can't remember the name, Crazy something?

Erm, I guess I liked this collection!

Oh I'm glad to hear you say this since we often like the same things! I ordered Sunny By Nature earlier this afternoon based on omgitzstephanie and karlasugar's comments (on her blog) on it as well as a Live Chat I did. I was happy to read it had more of a satin/natural finish. Fingers crossed it doesn't go orange on either of us!

No, I think Pretty Pattern is more plummy brown and definitely darker than Boy Bait. Boy Bait is more peachy brown, IMO.
Hope that helps!

I haven't been to the counter yet for this collection. The only two things of interest right now are Made With Love and Trimming Talk. Very pretty for summer
