MAC - Colour Craft Discussion

Have you seen the CC facecharts on the MAC site? They are using a lot of other products that do not belong to this collection to create the looks....

I prefer facecharts with products of a collection.

By the time I got to my counter today the blushes were well worked over and they were looking super glittery so needless to say I did not go for any more of them.

I did pick up the 131 though, and B2M'd for Made with Love and Madly Creative. I liked the 131 because besides being a different shape it's larger and denser than the 188 and still alot smaller than the 187...they're almost like small, medium and large.

Well at least we know Ben Nye is some good makeup that even MAC uses it, although, maybe we should ban together and get a email going to Ben Nye to make more colors.

I also am perplexed because it is not like MAC doesn't have those colors in or had in the permanent or pro line like Passionate, Clarity, newly minted, Coral or Lime.

IMO, I think you should go check it out! It's a really really pretty bronze-tan colour. It's pretty matte so it looks really natural and it's a great bronzer on myself. Love love love Sunny By Nature!

U know that saying " You look better on Myspace"? Well Colour Craft looked better on Specktra....

I did get the 226 though, courtesy of a family member

I agree!!! I had to skip everything from this collection! Too much glitter for me, I know i will not be using the stuff. But I did get 226 brush! And leming for 131 also, but we will see.

Great reviews everyone and great swatches. Today I went to check out the CC collection and only came back with a few things. I had made this huge list and when I got to the counter..well it changed..lol. The blushes were all gorgeous, not glitter but there is a sheen to all of them..so I got Style Demon and Cheek&cheerful. In my opinion I dont think Intenso is the same colour as Style Demon, to me Intenso has more of a reddish coral tone and Style Demon is reddish berry colour. Cheek & Cheeful is very pretty and I dont have anything like it. MSF's they are all pretty but I got only one Sunny by Nature, even though i am NC20-25 right now..it seemed really pretty on my cheeks when the MA applied it. Cheeky Bronze reminded me of So Ceylon. when I swatched it. So when I got home I went and looked at my so Ceylon and yes it very similar except So Ceylon is maybe slightly darker..but not by much. I didnt get any of the eyeshadows..sorry not a fan of MES, they crease way too much on my lids even with primer..also there seemed to be a lot of fall out when I was swatching them at the counter. The lipsticks were nice but none wowed me..well maybe Madly Creative..but I didnt get it. The lipglasses were all gorgeous and I really liked pretty pattern...but when I put it on my lips it kinda reminded me of fresh brew lipstick..but lighter and more glossy. There was one I really liked, something marble..can't think of name right now but it was really pretty but I didn't try it on because there was so many people at the counter and the SA were so busy..so maybe I will got next week and see. One of the MA cheeks was so pretty, apparently she put on an MSF cheeky bronze and over than cheek and cheerful. She said I could put sunny by nature and then lightly over the apples of my cheeks with cheek& cheerful. My sunny by nature barely has any pink veining so I am going to try this combo later and see how it turns out. I want to thank everyone for their reviews and swatches, because it really helped me with my list. Also Ernie, I think you look great with any color of shadow..wow you pics are amazing, thank you for posting them

I should be getting mine sometime today:] Just waiting on the ups man! I'll try to take pics asap. But, let me warn you all ahead of time...I'm wearing NO makeup at all today. I just came back from the beach & my nose is freakin' pealing, so I've only been moisturizing.

What I hate about Fad-dabulous is that it looks like a very pretty plum shade in the pan, but then a totally different color on my cheeks. I want a mineralize blush that is actually plum!

1st off i've recently fell back in love with my 109 brush for foundation use (im using MUFE HD) an im startin to hear some ladies are using thier 131 brush for foundations app. for those of you that have used this brush for that purpose, how do you like it? i mean dose it apply like the 187 or the 188? or the beloved 109?
please share with meeeee!
thanks!

i've used all four brushed for foundation application, the 188, 187, 109, and 131. So far, I love the 131. Since it's paddle shaped it has more working surface, so application is much quicker and smoother, the foundation isn't drying up on your face before you can get to it, thus eliminating streaks, reapplication, or buffing. You're actually using it's sides, rather than the tips of it for application, unlike the 188/187. It doesn't have that slight 'resistance' feeling when using the 109, using the 131 feels a lot like its movement is flowing (haha, idk if anyone will understand that part). IMHO, the 131 is much easier to work with, it's faster, smoother, and it still has the airbrushed look that the 109 gives you.

BTW, I've used this with the Studio Sculpt and the Select SPF 15 Foundations.

Got to check this out today and, overall, it was disappointing. Too much shimmer in this collection. I skipped over the eyeshadow - too shimmery and nothing caught my eye. I have a million lipsticks and glosses so I skipped those too.

The MSF's and blushes were very shimmery. I've read a few reviews where people said they left a nice 'sheen' on the skin. To me, a sheen is what you get from a beauty powder, think Pearl Sunshine from Barbie. These are shimmery, not glitter, but shimmer. If you are buying sight unseen be aware you will be very sparkly in the sunlight.

Also, the blushes are very similar to the Grand Duo collection. Where in GD the blush was split in the midde, in this collection they are swirled together but overall the colors are similar. For instance, Fandabulous = Hot Planet.

Save your $$ and don't buy into the hype for this.

Got my CC stuff today. While I still really love everything, the blushes were a little more glittery than the samples in the store ???? But, I used the white brush 168se & it seemed to buff out most of the glitter & then I was happy. Daft Pink is beautiful & not as glittery as the others.

Also, Smooth Merge - the middle strip in Nordies seemed way more raspberry pink in the store than the one I got? Maybe its all in the lighting. However, it is still pretty. I mostly just brush down the middle cause the side strips are shimmery.

I loved Miss Marble ALOT. I also loved FF & CH - they are beautiful on.

Made With Love is very pretty on & I still love a sheer application of CC lippie.

Haven't had time to try the shadows yet, but I did swipe the blue shade in Odd bits & its pretty.
