Hi! LOVE this too--Try it with STone and/or Plum lip pencil--tis lipstick is so versatile and gorgeous. I also love to layer it with any pink or taupe or neutral-plum-ish lip glass.

No, they're not at all similar in color...at least not to fanatics like us, lol. I just swatched them side by side on my arm and next to MC Patisserie looks peachy. The base color of MC is rosy and darker, then there's a champagney-frost thing going on on top of that. I think Karla described MC very well on her blog when she called it "rose quartz". If I get a good picture of my arm I'll post it.

Well....this is about the best I could do...it's hard to capture the base color & frost of MC (top) at the same time (it looks a bit darker than this irl), but at least you can tell it's different from Patisserie (bottom):

I finally tried Smooth Merge on today. I don't like it. The raspberry does not show up and it's really sparkly, the shimmer in it doesn't seem to be as finely milled as the MB's. It's going back. I'd rather pick up another MES instead.

I also tried the 131. It's actually a really good brush. Because of it's shape, I can use it on an angle instead of using the tip like I do with my 188, which makes for better blending and buffing. And it's sooo soft!

I think it will show up, because it's a frost and fairly opaque, whereas Patisserie looks more sheer to me, so the colour of your lips may be showing through as well.

I saw your post yesterday and today I had to go and get me this baby.
I dont like anything with too much sheen or glitter on my cheeks, because I am very oily. So I am glad there is something cheaper then MAC MSF, cause I know I am not going to use it a lot. I have only one MAC MSF Refined, and its very pretty, but I use it only once in a while. And SBN was looking at me with the sad puppy eyes asking to take it home with me, but I said no, cause someone else will love it more then I will.
Does anybody have both of these items to swatch them side by side?

You all are stealing my thoughts and posting them before I can! I too love the 131 and 226. The 226 is perfect for us small eyed girls who don't have alot of space to work with.
The 131 could be made by NASA. How can a duo fibre brush not shed when washed and actually live up to it's resume? Lordy be!! I have some unresolved anger towards duo fibre. The 188 and I are on a trial seperation.
It taunts me from my brush cup. Shedding hair, like my lab in the dead heat of August. How can you buff when you are as hairless as Demi Moore in "G.I. Jane"?. How can you swirl when your hair is as wonky as Carrot Top? It has come down to this, my bald little friend. Start living by my rules or I will find you another job. How about stepping in as a replacement brush for my 3 old son's Melissa and Doug easel set? I thought I heard him muttering something about "poor color payoff" for the green paintbrush. It is certainly not the way I would like to see you go out.
Now then, what other brush wants to start acting up? Now that I think of it, I don't really care for how his purple paintbrush is grabbing the color these days either.

I used Girlish Romp today and the colors barely showed up, even after using a paint pot. I was very dissapointed.

Okay, so yesterday was day 2 of testing out the blushes. As requested by neonkitty, I used Fad-Dabulous. The desription on the mac site is exactly the way it looks in the pan. Its a Dirty Burnt coral yellow gold veining. But on me it looked like it had a slight coraly bronze shade. It's something I don't have in my collection and I am happy to say that it's a keeper. I tend to always use pink blushes so this is something different. It adds a healthy color to my already pale face.
Today I tested out Daft Pink and all I have to say is

. Considering I love pink blushes, of course I have nothing but good things to say about this one. It is the perfect girly pink shade. On me, it's nothing like love rock. Love rock shows up darker on me. I do have to say though, as much as I like this one, it still doesn't beat hand finish which is just heavenly

. That's still my fave so far.
(I'm taking pics of my looks and blushes for you to see so I will try and post tomorrow the latest)

I wonder which blush I'll choose tomorrow...................


Yesterday I caved and went to buy more from the collection (as if I didn't buy enough already). I ended up returning nice mix up b/c I didn't really like it on me. Swatched on my hand it looked so pretty, but on my lips it was like a dark dirty orange

and it wasn't working for me. So I picked up the 131 brush, color crafted l/s, eclectic edge and funky fusion. I haven't tried eclectic edge yet but it looks like it'll be a perfect match with fashion mews so I can't wait to try that out. Today I paired CC with FF and I LOVE it. It's the perfect summer pink lips! I have to say I HATE THE 131 BRUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yuc k:

This is going to be returned ASAP! SOOO not better than my usual blush brush. I figured I'd give this a chance, but it wasn't as big in size as I wanted it to be, and it didn't buff away any of the glitter. I felt this brush was to blame for giving me the glitter bomb face! I just didn't like it AT ALL! I ended up washing my face and having to redo my makeup! So then I used my regular brush that I always apply my MBs with, and no glitter this time, and the blush went just where I wanted it to go on my cheeks. Personally, I don't think this is a good blush brush. I think it would work best as a highlighter brush which I MIGHT try tomorrow. But the thing about that is, I don't know if I'd be willing to spend $40 on a highlighter brush. I say I'll be better off if I return this and get another MES quad and the 226 since so many are raving about it.

To recreate the above, I used:

Natural Flare - orangey color on lid
Lined upper lash line with Dipdown
Lots of Zoom Lash on outer corners of lashes
Secret Crush on lips
Fun N Games on cheeks

You can also use the darkest brown in Natural Flare to smudge (used the 214 smudger brush) into lower lash line for a more dramatic look.

I love this look!

I used my Butternutty SS and the colors showed up just fine on me. I just wish the purple was a little darker, so I ended up using the purple in eccentricity. I LOVE girlish romp
