Funny enough, I don't think our husband's would be quite as amused with this conversation as we are!

You ain't lyin'!! That's really why I wished Cool Heat had been in when I was in the pro store...then all the damage would've been done at once. Somehow it seems much worse when things slowly creep in in small doses.

Definitely, and I told my DH I'd be skipping the next few collections!

purrtykitty, it really does seem worse getting things in small doses. I honestly think a person spends way more, thus the brilliance of MAC by putting out numerous collections every few weeks. Any way we try to approach it, we're screwed!

Audrey close your eyes … take a deep breath … repeat after me “Climate Blue BAD..Climate Blue NO GOOD … Then open your eyes check Starflash Collection & lust over it

audrey's comparisons are dead on. here's a pic of climate blue vs. contrast on paper. not even close. climate blue is much more purple and has crappy color payoff compared to contrast.

Thanks Erine, No Climate Blue for me then

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

So my Cool Heat review in a nutshell:

They didn't have Gulf Stream or the new perfume out to smell, and this was all swatch-on-hand.
Solar White-definitely a must have. It's so pretty for the summer, and I always am on the lookout for a good highlight colour.
Warming Trend-looked blah in the pan. It is a VP, but it's nothing spectacular.
Warm Chill-poor colour payoff. You don't need it if you have Moodring (from the Heatherette Trio 1). It is a very pretty colour in the pan though.
Cool Heat-I didn't swatch it myself, but think Aquadisiac but bluer in the pan. It is GORGEOUS. Still about as sparkly.
Climate Blue-it is definitely dark. I didn't swatch only because I know I won't be buying it. It does have sparkle in it though, which is the one saving grace.
Blue Flame-forget the fact that it is a VP, it's way too dark for my tastes, and it has that blackened note that I absolutely HATE. Well, at least from what I got out of it.

The Slimshines are all gorgeous, very universally appealing IMO. Tropic Glow is definitely the prettiest though, think a pinker version of Flash-n-Dash. I hope it will be a good substitute for Fun 'n Sexy, which I missed out on.

I preordered Cool Heat, Solar White, and then Tropic Glow...if I go back for anything, it will be another Slimshine, and then Gulf Stream, since I did not see that one.

Awwww, I hope you get enough money to buy everything that's on your wishlist! Mind you, my mum would have slapped me for wearing eyeshadows at 15 haha, I hope yours isn't like that.

The other day i read about someone who buys eyeshadows to her 10 year old daughter. Now that is TOO early IMHO.

Now I'm 21 1/2 and she asks really politely to do her make up and buy her MAC stuff heehee!

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

OKAY so today one of my friends at my MAC counter let me look at aaaall the cool heat stuff. i LOVED the textures of ALL of these eye shadows.. the slimshines are incredible.. the cool heat eye shadow, well.. i can see why this would be the title color.. it is a beautiful turquoise, perfect density.. great color deposit, and i'm talking from pan to brush AND brush to skin.. solar white is a very vivid shimmery white, again excellent deposit.. climate blue is also going to be one of my favorite colors to work with this summer.. you can work it as a purple, or a blue, depending on the base you use, the tones in your skin, and the other colors you pair it with.. these are all such beautiful colors, i can't wait to run out on june 12th and pick them up

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

after seeing all these swatches my shopping list is: high 90's slimshine, cool heat, warming trend, and solar white. my maybe list has blue flame, gulf stream and my no list is climate blue (i hate velvets and it looks periwinkle, bleh on me!) and warm chill (i own 2 15 palettes of green that i never wear, i cannot justify buying more!)

hmmm, not bad. i can prob get by under $100. *yay*

You have an excellent point Liya! There is a purple in Starflash. I will wait for that!

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

Just checked out the swatches and I am so glad nothing interests me. I bought most of the Neo Sci Fi collection and should be holding off on makeup purchases for a while.

The colors in this collection are nice but they're not me. I don't usually wear blues/purples and the more neutral colors look like they can be duped.

I agree Climate Blue still looks very pretty! It has a better pop of the violet blue in it. Contrast is pretty too, but a little grayer/duller. It must be pretty if it was the first to sell out at one of the counters.

Slimshines are great...I love the colors & middle of the road color payoff.

Oh, I want this purple from Starflash as well! But I still have no purple e/s that could really convince me

Maybe Poison Pen.

I am just getting into purples too, Susanne. Most often I wear blue/green/teal, but my love for purple is growing. I don't have many purple shadows yet, but I just got Poison Pen which I love, Illegal Cargo from NN and the purples in my Antiquitease Cool Eyes palette

Re: Cool Heat Discussion

I absolutely CANNOT wait to see the looks MAC comes up with for this collection. Erine, you said earlier that if MAC didn't post two of the looks you really liked, you would post them here. I would be SOOOOOO happy if you do: I'm a makeup newbie and I'm looking at all these gorgeous colours, but am not sure how to use them.

My list:
Cool Heat
Gulf Stream
maybe Warm chill (have to check out it's colour payoff)
Blue Flame or Deep Truth (have to swatch in person)

I got into makeup at an early age (13) but at that age I just piled on eyeliner on the bottom lashline and though that looked nice
