Hello ladies

I’ve been reading and lurking in these forums for months now. You’re such an amazing bunch I’m so happy that I found you, I’ve learned a lot and also you made me feel normal with my MAC addiction / obsession

This MAC collection is the first one that I’m going to buy online without swatch-ing first, so the information here is priceless

Some questions about the colors
1- is Warming Trend anything like Ochre Style??
2- is Solar White anything like Blanc Type??
3- is Cool Heat anything like Zonk Bleu!??
4- is Climate Blue anything like Contrast??
And any swatches to compare the above colors will be great

Sorry if this has been already asked, I tried to look at the old posts but with 40+ pages I think I missed some!!

Liya! Glad to have you here!

I have seen the collection in person and swatched everything (I am NW15). The following is purely my opinion, based on how the colors look on me, but hopefully it will help you some

1. Warming Trend compared to Ochre Style: IMO, totally different. Warming Trend is a light taupe. It is slightly gold on me, and looks silverish on some skintones. Ochre Style was a warm, golden, mustard color. They are totally different IMO.

2. Solar White compared to Blanc Type: Again, totally different. Blanc Type is a flat matte cream color. Solar White is very complex. I has a cream base color but a gold duochrome. It is frosty, and GORGEOUS!

3. Cool Heat compared to Zonk Bleu: Yep, you guessed it. Once again, nothing alike. Cool Heat is an AMAZING, bright teal, with a good amount of green in it. Zonk Bleu is much paler, and more blue. They would probably look nice together, since one is light and once is darker and much more intense.

4. Blue Flame compared to Contrast: This one I can't help too much with. I don't have, and have never swatched Contrast. BF is almost identical to Deep Truth on me.

There are lots of swatches of the colors compared to others, both in the swatch forum and in this thread, just a few pages back. Hope that helps some!

BTW I meant Rose Blanc not Blanc Type, how does Rose Blanc compare to Solar White??

Alright, I have finally been convinced by all of you lovely ladies to take the plunge into teals with this collection~ I plan on getting:

By Degrees SS
Solar White
Warming Trend
Gulfstream
Cool Heat

And maybe Warm Chill once I swatch it (I am terrified of it making me look jaundiced somehow - probably irrational, but I can't stop!)

I have Rose Blanc and love it

It has a gold/pale yellow base color, where Solar White has a cream base color with gold duochrome/undertones. It is an amazing color.

LOVE LOVE Rose Blanc 2. Ahhh it seems you really love Solar White and if we both love Rose Blanc than i will love Solar white 2

audrey's comparisons are dead on. here's a pic of climate blue vs. contrast on paper. not even close. climate blue is much more purple and has crappy color payoff compared to contrast.

I am rethinking Climate Blue (again). I want it to be purple and it's not. I want it to look like the color in the pot when it's applied, and it won't. I hate Velvets. I don't think I neeeeed it. Someone tell me it is ok, and I don't HAVE to buy all of them and keep them in a cute little set.

I think you need it! Don't forget, it's a slimshine, so once it's on your lips, it probably won't look quite as bright as the swatches. In my opinion, it looks like the nicest pink slimshine so far.

I keep going back and forth with what I want in terms of eyeshadows. The definites are Solar White, Warming Trend, Blue Flame, (HA! Notice I said before that I was definitely NOT getting this), Warm Chill, High 90's and Swelter.

I have about fourteen hours before I make my final decision, LOL.

I've been on the fence too! In Tinkerbelle's pictures of the actual eyeshadows, it looks SOO gorgeous, like a really pretty purple and you can actually see the sparkles. However, I would rather get a true purple and in a better texture, bc I think I would use it much more than I would use Climate Blue. I have decided that I'm getting all the eyeshadows except for Climate Blue and Warming Trend [I have the Loreal HIP duo in Adventurous, and the taupe side looks to be very similar]. I also want to get High 90's slimshine and maybe Gentle Simmer. Oooo and I want to try the perfumes! Can't wait for Cool Heat!

I was so sad the the Chicago Pro Store didn't have this in, yet.

I was really hoping to clean up...OK, I did clean up anyway - it was my first time in a Pro Store, after all. Still, I had hoped I would have this stuff in my hot little hands to show you all some luverly swatches, but alas, I'll have to wait 'til Thursday like a standard MAC commoner.

you don't need that gross velvet!! wouldn't you much rather spend your money on another shadow with a better finish? Veluxe pearl...
