I'm very pleased with them, especially after being ultimately disappointed with the superglasses I tried.

I bought Ban This, Gimme That and Bold & Brash. I was only planning on buying two, but I tried on Gimme That and decided that it was, indeed, absolutely nothing like If It's Pink.

But goodness, it's bright! I'm still wearing it, but I think I needed a bit more pop on my face (I have neutral eyes and light, neutral cheeks today) to really balance it out.

Gimme That is bright like a searchlight at a prison camp escape

I've had Slick Black greasepaint stick in the waterline and smudged a bit and Gimme That on all day - no blush or highlighter etc. and it's a good look.

Actually, I think if I had a little brow gel along with it, that's all it'd need. A little clear gloss on the eyelids and maybe cheekbones would be a nice touch too.

I know I'm running on and on about them, but I just noticed something else about Gimme That....

I was sitting on the sofa looking in a mirror turning my head and all the shimmer went from 100% purple to 100% pink as the light shifted.

The description is "bright fuschia with pink pearl", but i guess they are seriously not kidding about the "holographic pearl", because this color is shifting around like an opalescent beetle's wing. SO COOL!

they are thick in a weird way - like mousse or fluffy cake frosting, but they're so opaque really the best way to apply them would be put a little on the center of your lips with the applicator, then use a brush to spread them evenly and thinly out from the center. Once they're on the lips, they feel more like you're wearing lipstick than lip gloss.

and that is exactly how the MAC DtW video showed the application and is in fact, the easiest and most practical way to apply the lgs

Oh gosh, this is amazing. Ah, take me to the mall someone!
I've only tried dazzleglasses. Should I try this lipglass or the original first? Or dazzleglass cremes or cremesheens.

So I ran as soon as I got off work to grab a few things from this collection. Lime, Sassy Grass, and Lipglass in Dare to Dare. I loved everything but these were my favorites. I was checking out my new goodies when I got home and noticed that the lipglass wasn't mixed very well. I had to mix it up a lot and the smell is wicked ( strange chemical smell) not the usual vanilla. Has anyone else ran into this?

Mine were mixed fine, but now that you mention it, Gimme That had a smell that was vanilla + chemical, but it went away after about 20 minutes or so of wearing it. I'm not someone with a particularly sensitive sense of smell, though, so I didn't really think anything of it.

I just sniffed my other tubes and Bold & Brash smells like vanilla while Ban This! is chemical + vanilla. Maybe it depends on the color? I remember hearing some people had weird batches of greasepaint sticks with a chemical smell when they first came out too.

Sometimes I'm amazed that makeup ever smells ok, considering all the bizarre chemicals that go into it. What we do for beauty!

So I hauled, Louder, Please which on me is brighter than Passionate. They are close, but since I am brown, it showed up better. It is very pretty, and when wet, it looks red. I love it.
Shockoholic, which is pretty. I don't have MUFE #92, this one is fine for me. Sassy Grass, is my favorite. I cannot wait to play with this one more. I want to put something like Expensive Pink or Amber Lights under it to see what happens. Maybe even Sweet and Punchy on top. Something to give it some shimmer. Its beautiful. I passed on Going Bananas.. with all the hype, I really wanted it to work. Its too cool for me. Looked like someone put yellow chalk on my lids. FAIL.

I skipped all the glosses because of the glitter mess when I removed them. They are pretty. I am just going to haul more lippies with later collections. To me the eye products stole the show here.

Mac really needs to make up it's mind...you can , you can't, you can, you can't...which is it?!

SMH. I understand your frustration.

That's the reason they freakin made the list and put it in the update book...

page 95 for reference!!! argh makes me SO mad...im sorry...

And FYI: it specifically says Lipglass- Tinted (special Deco Packaging including Dare to Wear and Rodarte) NO

The MAs checked the book for me. And check this out, I went to a MAC store and they did not even have it out. I had to ask for the collection. One MA told me it would be out next month. So I asked someone else. She checked on it and brought it out. The story is they put it out last week and got visited by some highups in the company that told them it should not be out. I guess they overlooked the real release date

Which is pointless on any salesperson's part when it comes to me--I go in knowing what I want and I rarely sway from that.

I think this is a good tip though. I need to learn to work with more mattes cause it can be a challenge. I am going to try this out.

I was experimenting with brushes with my MUA for the mattes. He suggested a stiffer brush would more easily apply the color and give a nice tight edge. He was pretty spot on - the 242 was definitely springier and patted on the color more easily without having to be careful than the one i use at home, the 239.

I held back from buying it right there, though, since I figured I should take my Sassy Grass and try it with my 239 first and see how it went in the comfort of my own bathroom mirror. I'd cave and get that 242 if I had more mattes, I bet.

babylard reporting back! here's what i hauled:

sassy grass (b2m) - GORGEOUS rich deep grassy green
louder please - "deep" hot pink leaning towards red, its a richer version of passionate
shockaholic - its a dark purple with some red tones, but i'm afraid it might go on muddy if it doesn't get packed on

so bad - pinky orange with crazy coral shimmer! it reminds me of a peach, how the flesh is an orangy shade with the pit a deeper shade. very multidimensional

the glosses were really beautiful. i'm gonna try wearing so bad tomorrow and see how i like it. i really love the bold and brash but i keep thinking about how my bf does not like red lips so i kind shyed away, but it really is a gorgeous holiday cherry red shade. so i might pick up more glosses. they are wonderfully opaque! ban this! scares me but its very unique. i just don't do the dark lip well. these glosses have that duochrome multidimensional characteristics to it

matte eyeshadows are quite hard to swatch on bareskin and these eyeshadows were no exception. i used the q-tip to scrape at the surface and pat it on my hand. they were very pigmented this way, so with a proper base, they're beautiful colors though. i went for the LE items. crazy cool was nice, but i already have beautiful iris and they won't look too different on

can't wait to try a look!

Could please someone compare Bold & Brash to Cult of Cherry and Chanel Dragon? Is it also a very blue based red? It looks gorgeous and oh so tempting but I wonder whether it will turn into blueish pink or fuchsia on my lips like COC does and all my other red glosses and red lippies for that matter. Sigh

I went to a PRO store earlier this week and had planned on getting Aqua in the pan. When I swatched it, it reminded me a lot of Haunting (from Alexander McQueen). Although I can't say objectively how they compare since I didn't have Haunting on me, it seemed similar enough to prevent me from getting it. Plus, I've only worn Haunting, like, once since I got it, and it's been a while since that collection came out.

I went to the nearby freestanding store today to check out the collection, having planned to get Sassy Grass and Crazy Cool.
- Sassy Grass is probably as close to what you're going to imagine when you say "matte green" as you can get. The color is a bright, vivid grass green. I thought it would be similar to Kelly (PRO), but it's not even close. The texture is not perfect, but it's not bad.
- Crazy Cool is lighter than Beautiful Iris and darker than Digit. I wouldn't say that Crazy Cool is a dupe for Beautiful Iris. They have a completely different look because of the purple duochrome that Beautiful Iris has. If you are just considering shade, however, they are pretty similar, and in a look they probably won't look so distinctly different to necessarily warrant purchasing both (unless you're hardcore). I don't have Beautiful Iris, and I ended up picking up Crazy Cool because I wanted a lighter lavender and it has a softer texture.
- Louder, Please was not even on my "maybe" list because it is such a bold color. I swatched it out of curiosity, though, and... that was a big mistake for my wallet. The texture was SO perfect, so smooth... And it was very pigmented, without the blotchyness that comes with a lot of matte colors. Even though I KNEW I wouldn't wear this nearly enough to justify the money I would be paying for it, I ended up getting it, determined to incorporate it somewhere, somehow (confessions of a MACaholic -_-).

Not blue based. It's about as well balanced a true red as humanly possible, plus it's got the pink shimmer that adds even more visual balance to the color.

I got my haul today! Side note: the new UPS guy is kinda hot!
tong.gif
Anyway, I tried out the glosses. I love the four I got: Gimme That!, Bold & Brash, Dare to Dare, and Ban This! I was really surprised by Dare to Dare. I love the blue tint! I got backups of three of the four I ordered but, I will go by the counter and get a backup of Dare to Dare!! Bold & Brash is so pretty...hot red! Can't wait to wear that out! I have not tried any of the eyeshadows I purchased but I'm sure they will be worth the wait!

Hey All,

I checked out the collection a bit today.

I was pressed for time and didn't spend as much time as I would have liked with the products even though I said I was going to stay away from MAC until December
winks.gif

I picked up Going Bananas and Lime e/s, the Viva Glam VI SE l/s and Charcoal Brown e/s for my brows.

(I'm on a Viva Glam kick! I was surprised this lippie was still in the store!)

The mua did a look using GB on the lid and Sushi Flower & Louder, Please in the crease and outer crease.

LP reminds me of Post Haste and I didn't pick it up at the time since I was in a hurry.

For the most part I wasn't impressed with the glosses at all.

The mua used Wind Me Up on me & I didn't like the texture and feel of it so it stayed at the store.

I swatched Gimme That on my hand & it is very pigmented - unlike regular glosses and I liked it.

I think if I do get a gloss it will be Gimme That.

If I pick up anything else from this collection it may be LP, SG and S-A-H e/s.

So now I'm kinda sorta back to my no buy until December 2010 (must clarify!)

I'm so jealous! Mine is a complete idiot. He never knocks or rings the bell and leaves boxes under my doormat in puddles when it is raining. Even if I'm home. He doesn't even bother and I have never not seen him on the phone. And sometimes he leaves my stuff in front of the side door of my house... Don't even get me started on how much stuff has been ruined from the monsoons and his idiocy....

So, in synopsis, I'm jealous of you.
