MAC - Dare To Wear Discussion

I finally finalized my list and will be going in a couple of hourssss

Unless something else really grabs me while I'm at the counter. Which I doubt--I've given a LOT of thought to my list

I was planning to go to the Mac counter over lunch, but a friend of mine offered me a free lunch at some swanky Beverly Hills place so I have to wait till after work! Nuuuuu! I can't wait to try on the lipglosses (I don't care about the eyeshadows). They look so pretty on people! I'm especially excited for Bold & Brash, but I need to try it on first.

Love the bright colors in this collection, but I don't think I could pull them off.

I just called my MAC in winnipeg canada and they said i could still b2m for sassy grass. the policies are sure wanky!

I just got back from my MAC store and B2M for 2 of the eye shadows? MAC really needs to get it together and all be on the same page!

Exactly!!! It should be everyone or no one! It is always like that and it makes no sense!

Sorry I posted no. I guess Houston is the only place not allowing it!

You should have the MA's look in their update book...this isn't a special packaging eyeshadow case so you CAN b2m for it...the lipglosses are a different story.

That's the reason they freakin made the list and put it in the update book...

page 95 for reference!!! argh makes me SO mad...im sorry...

And FYI: it specifically says Lipglass- Tinted (special Deco Packaging including Dare to Wear and Rodarte) NO

Back from my counter, with only Sassy Grass as I suspected. Shock a holic swatched TERRIBLY on me. No payoff what-so-ever. The shadow itself was sort of hard. If Aqua was LE, I would have gotten that one, but since it's PRO, I am going to wait on it. And I am still contemplating Crazy Cool. The texture was great, and it's a great color. It looks pretty different from Beautiful Iris on my hand, but I am not sure if the difference would be that apparent on the eye. BI is more pink because of the pink duochrome, whereas CC looks like it has more of a silverish cast if that makes sense. I may go back for that one.

I got Going Bananas and Dare To Dare. I wasn't planning on getting a lipglass but the MA showed how pigmented they are so I just had to get one!

I couldn't remember one of the names that we wanted to compare (looking back in this thread it was Crystal), so I swatched Crazy Cool, Beautiful Iris, Digit and Parfait Amour (in clockwise order from the top purple)

I did swatch Crystal but it looked white on me, btw so I wiped it off.

I'm C7 for reference.

Also, here's Electric Eel on the left and Zingy on the right. Zingy is slightly more green but I don't think you could tell when wearing it.

It makes me cringe when people compare shock-a-holic to mufe's #92. It's a no-go. Not happening.

Anyway, mission to go to a Mac store today failed gloriously. I will go tomorrow. I am dying to play with Aqua. From the latest swatches it looks not so bad.

I'll go see them later today or tomorrow. Wondering how Shock-a-holic and everything else will swatch on me. If I like them, I'll buy them. But if I don't like them, I'll be happy to save money for the upcoming collections.
