Whoever said Birds & Berries looks HOT on top of Delft paintpot is definitely right (I think it was you, GlamYOURUs?). I saw the MA wearing it yesterday, and I swear I've never seen eyeshadow that pretty before. I don't have Delft, but I bought B&B anyway, because the MA said that it's truly a unique color from MAC.

Shell Pearl - The MA put it on me, but I can't really detect anything on my face. Sure, there's simmer of you look closely, but IMO, it's not that special. I'm NC35 btw. I prefer my Perfect Topping MSF
thmbup.gif

Lippies - Peachstock is definitely pretty! I kinda like the texture too, but it looks almost exactly like Creme d' Nude on me
th_dunno.gif
. Blooming Lovely is kinda tricky, it somehow washed me out. The rest of the lippies didn't really catch my attention.

I saw another MA was wearing Free To Be e/s on the lid, and Deep Truth + Carbon on the crease/outer corner, and can I just say

I really really like this collection a lot! Surprisingly, my counter hasn't sold out of anything yet

OT but ladies in the tri state, stay home! These winds are crazy! I was on my way to walk to the MAC store when the wind almost blew my damn false lashes off!

You NEED it!

DD is a little more sheer, but can be built up to the same intensity as SD. On me, SD is darker, and more of an eggplant purple (though not as dark as an eggplant, but in the same color family), and DD is more of a true violet purple. In the sunlight, the blue flash is very apparent. It is sort of similar to Very Violet, but with a must better texture and blendability and the blue flash. I am thinking of swapping or selling VV now because I prefer DD. HTH

I wanted to comment on the stock that each store receives. My counter used to get a ton of stuff in each shipment. They still have ALOT of stuff left over from past collections. The manager told me that now, the most they ever receive of anything is 12, though it's usually only 6. With the LOL stuff, they only received 6 of each item, and had to use 1 as a tester.

Today, I tried a smokey eye. I put NYX Pots and Pans pencil (silver) as a base, Bough Grey on my entire lid, Cloudburst (like Black Tied but with teal sparkles instead of silver) in the crease, Blanc Type to highlight, then used Silver Fog pigment, wet, in the inner corners and along my lower lash line. It is darker than I am used to but I really like it

One of the counters I shop at got 2(!) of some of the SCF lippes. One to sell and one to put out as a tester! It's insane.

just wanted to say that I'm rocking Blue India now. This is the best formula nail polish I've ever seen from MAC. It applied easily and streak free. It was opaque in one coat but I did two just in case

Weirdness is going on at Bloomingdales, they've mixed up the names and colours

Not sure if I want to order from them, what if I get the wrong colours

I wasn't impressed with this either when I swatched it. Beautiful colour, but it did not swatch well at all.

Add me to this list. I didn't have a big problem with the first one.

Even if this theory is true (though I think it's just another marketing ploy), it probably doesn't apply to Specktrettes. Buying one or two lipsticks is one thing, but buying the quantities most of us on here do, well...!!!

i have both! lol they are similar, but satelite dreams is darker. the difference for me is that satelite dreams has never been a lid color. i only used it for crease and outer-v. but dames desire would go as a lid color. this is why i bought it. it also blends quite funky. my bf was smearing and swatching it into other colors and it had a weird duochrome glow to it. satelite dreams is a tad dustier as well, while dames desire though not in the pan will look a lil pinker swatched

I think this is what I do all year around! haha

I was browsing my drugstore recently and they had a 60% off PURE lipsticks (I am not sure if it's a canadian brand or not) and they even come in black boxes like mac does. I picked up 4 for $4.50 each, and the formula is sooo hydrating and they smell like strawberries. I even got this cool VIOLET gloss. It reminded me to check out my drugstore from time to time instead of shopping at high end makeup brands all the time.

I would LOVE that!!! I want a duochrome fish scale eye-shadow too. In fact, I want them in different fishy colors. If MAC did a duochrome collection, I would go nuts!

I don't think any of us consider makeup to be a small purchase! I know the amount I sometimes drop in one trip could buy me a nice designer purse, shoes, dress... haha it just feels better since I'm getting more small things that I will loooove!! (I think we all might have an illness...)

This is so bad, I can't stop staring at that white packaging with the bird. I feel like I'm having a staring contest with it's eyes LOLZ...I'm not going to get anything more because Art Supplies is coming and boy are those Grease Paintsticks porn worthy.

Hey Girls!

Man, 2 days and 20 pages!
shockt.gif
A LOT of reading lol!

I just wanted to put my vote in for BOUGH GREY!! I love it!! I'm NC15 and it was very pigmented on me.
greengrin.gif
Also love Birds & Berries, I thought it was greener than Strike a Pose, so of course I got it.

Also, LOVE Prim & Proper with Shell Pearl!! I'll be wearing that everyday for awhile.

Ever Hip was too Orange on me.
ssad.gif

GMLOL and Free to Be barely showed up.

Peachstock = loved

Ended up getting Frankly Fresh, loved it!

BLUE INDIA = My favorite polish since Peppermint Patti, only only needed 2 coats to look good
th_DANCE.gif

Also got a back up of Shell Pearl and Prim & Proper

AND my counter took B2M for this collection!!
yahoo.gif

I'm thrilled with collection, but sad to hear about the flimsy bags, which haven't been delivered yet. I may just return them.

Also ended up with Over Indulgence Creamsheen but all the blushes from Too Fabulous were way too glittery for me.

Great collection!

The color didn't do anything for me even when I got it to show up. I find Bough grey to be nothing like "hold my gaze". I want Hold my Gaze to release as a single!!! Now that was a unique color.

True, it doesn't seem so expensive because you get multiple items whereas dropping the same amount of cash on one item seems much more expensive. Even though I KNOW I have enough makeup and not enough clothes. I am trying to make that switch from makeup to clothes but it's just not happening.

TBH, Ever Hip is my least favorite of the collection, not because of the shade, but because of the color payoff! It would be AMAZING if it were an AC, but I had to use like 5 coats to get any color.
thmbdn.gif
Though if you really want to get it, a good l/l will drastically help (Mouth Off from Too Fab is great under it!).

You know, I used to hate MAC polishes; despite their unique colors that they'd release, I thought the formula was crap...but lately, they've actually been the best polishes for me. I have had the best luck when I apply them to dry nails (just after using polish remover, and no lotion on hands), and I don't use a top coat or a base coat, just the polish itself. Try that method and see if it works at all to keep them lasting.

I had heard this too, and whether or not it's true, I do think it makes sense. I've heard the same thing about movie tickets, because people can afford a $9 movie over a $50 concert or sports event. Sure enough, the movie industry had record box office sales in 2009. Treating yourself to a $14 lipstick on occasion is a little easier than splurging on a $200 pair of pants, and I think it's almost as rewarding in the end- both make you feel good, but the lipstick is cheaper so that makes you feel even better!

Thanks so much Babylard! I'm on a tight budget and every swatch I see of Bough Grey looks somewhat similar to Hold My Gaze, so if I could cut it out that would be good. But ummm yea, I think I'm just gonna pretend that they're different enough to have both....I didn't see nuthin'...
