I called around today to a few MAC stores here in Chicago and they all say it's being launched on the 27th.

It's possible that the lip erase may help. It definitely has that subtle lilac/violet undertone. But, it is very, very pretty!

Alright here is the one question i need answered.

I'm not sure if I want both trios. I mean, I WANT both trios, but I don't know if I can get both. I need a good pink shadow (which one of the trio has) and I also really like the minty green color in the other trio.

I know none of these are lustres so I dont need to worry about the finish....can anyone give their opinion on the trios though? I saw the swatches I just cant decide which to get?!?

My opinion:

Pink eyeshadows are a dime a dozen. You can find a decent pink permanent shadow on its own. The Mood Ring shadow seems pretty special to me, so I'd say grab that compact if you can only get one. I haven't seen them in person, but that's my two bits.

On the color stories I don't see what the finish is for "Cassette" e/s. Does anyone know? Also are there any dupes for the green e/s? I bought Fafi #2 and hate the finish of the green. In fact the only one I like is the gold one and even it I like the color not the finish. I've only tried each one once so it may have to go back. But I hate returning things.

I need to know why my friend, who does not buy MAC makeup (she bought a mascara a month ago while I spent about a hundred) got an invite to a special unveiling of Heatherette before the release and I did not? I have another friend who spends as much as me and she didn't get one, either! Anyone know why this is?

I was thinking the same thing, but i'm going to try swatching it with bonus beat layered over it to see if that will change the colour a bit to take away the lilac tone. Who knows?!

Same thing happened to a friend of mine, she got the mailer with the stickers for Fafi and she hasn't bought anything from MAC in many years. I shop at the store and online and I haven't received anything since Barbie Love MAC

I felt the same way, but i've decided to go with the trio that I know i'll use more, which is the pink trio. As pretty as the green colour is, realistically it isn't something i personally would reach for very often. But if you know you would reach for both, then maybe the green trio would be better because it just seems a bit more unique.

So, I got a peek at the Heatherette colors from my MAC store- wowzahs, am I going to spend a lot! From what I saw, the trio with the green shadow is more unique- such a beautiful minty green shade. The other trio was good too, but nothing special, and the purple shadow was so dark it almost looked black.

if there's an event for heatherette it's a store/counter event, not a MAC event. this means that your location can set it for whatever days it wants to, if it even chooses to have one. MAC events are chosen by the company to be held on certain weekends, which are anniversary dates to the previous year's event (the fafi event was held on the same weekend as last years BLM event). this is usually done once every season, so last season was aniquitease, this season was fafi. so, it's up to your location if there will be a heatherette event or not.

flyers are sent out randomly, not by how much money you spend. to think think that just because you spend so much money that you deserve a special invite is a bit snobbish IMO. your friend probably gave her info when she bought her mascara and was just randomly drawn to receive one. since she doesn't buy much mac just ask her if you can have her invite if it's that important to you.

True. I dont use many green shadows right now but maybe thats because i dont have the perfect one.

Quick question for anyone who may know--How do you think the green in the heatherette trio compares to De Menthe shadow? I finally got my hands on de menthe and if they are similar then it can make my decision easy

they don't even compare to each other. dementhe is darker, and mood ring is a bright pastel green. they are completely different.

I don't think that was "snobbish" at all of her to post. If you have one person who spends $20 at a MAC store once, and someone else who blows a hundred a month, then who should be entitled to the special privileges? Obviously the one who spends less isn't a diehard MAC fan, and just likes to buy the occasional splurge product. If you gave the invite to someone who spends a ton of money on MAC, then you'd be guaranteed that they would appreciate it and drop some serious cash. That being said, I agree that it's probably a random selection and has no connection to the amount of product you purchase.

On another topic, does anyone think it's worth calling my MAC store to see if Heatherette is being released early where I live? It's the only freestanding store in Nova Scotia, Canada, so I'm not too hopeful..But whaddaya think, worth a shot?
