Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion
When I went to get my beauty powder blush today, the MA at Nordstrom had everything out and I got to play with it ALL and place my preorder
She did confirm that Nordstrom will be launching March 20th. I preordered the following:
-Trio #1 (with the aqua shadow) - I said in an above post that this color really had to knock my socks to push me to buy it since I already have the dark shadow from Blue Storm. Well, it is gorgeous! It was almost metallic looking on my hand! The neutral shadow is really nice too, and I have a feeling I will use it often.
Alpha Girl Beauty Powder - This had alot more peach in it than I thought it would, and was fairly bright in the pot. It has a slight shimmer, nothing over the top, and it probably isn't noticeable on the cheeks. It is a pretty color though, and for us fair skinned girls, it could probably be used nicely as a blush.
Lollipop Lovin Lipstick - This also had more pink than I was expecting. I love glaze formula lipsticks, so really this was the only one that I was interested in. IMO it is the most wearable color in the collection, especially for those who prefer more subdued lips.
Starlet Kiss Lipglass - A beautiful pale pink color, which is probably not terribly unique, but I was drawn to it. It was my favorite of all of the lipglasses.
I was surprised about a few things. The pink/purple trio was not unique IMO at all. The colors looks very dupeable, and the color payoff and texture of the dark purple shadow was horrible. The other two shadows were nice, but nothing special. The 3D glitter seemed to be a finer texture than the original PRO version. The liners were nice, but again, I wasn't overly impressed. The softsparkle ends look identical to those that have already been released. The Sock Lop Lipglass looked straight ORANGE on me, not coral at all. I felt it was very unflattering. Bonus Beat Lipglass was similar enough to Instant gold l/g, Elaborate l/g and a bunch of other goldish lipglasses already released, though it seemed a tad more opaque. Melrose Mood is a SHOCKING pink. It does have a blue base, so it may work well for some, but I personally could never wear it. The lashes were cool - they had a patent leather looking finish. They were very shiny looking and personally, they could never be everyday lashes for me. They are pretty over the top, and my first thought was "halloween". Just my personal opinion of course
Oh, and the looks for this collection are VERY nice! I sure hope they are posted on the website!
