Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

I don't buy back-ups of anything anymore. Heh, I don't have enough money anyways. I only did on Antiquitease for the red eyeshadow, but so far.. I find too many things I love that I'll never use them up! So I pretty much just get one thing that I want and it makes me enjoy it all that much more.

Though it is REALLY tempting to get a back up of Lollipop Lovin. Seriously. It's that gorgeous, it's sold out already online.

I've only gotten back-ups of Light Flush and Warmed, but that's because I use them everyday.

I'm going to end up selling some other back-up things I've bought in the past. XD

I personally thought it looked gorgeous on all the MA's I saw them on. They made it wearable for me. I don't think it only has to do with the skin tone, but the attitude and look they're going for. I totally dig that they can rock the color and are brave enough to!

MM is one of my favorite lipsticks MAC has put out in a long time . . . True, for most people it's not a "wearable" look, but MAC's market extends far beyond day makeup. It will definitely be an AWESOME color for those of us rocking a Barbie-type look in drag situations or editorial stuff.

Of course, not every lipstick color works for everyone, but I think its in the application as much as the color. If you take a color like MM and cake it onto your lips like wax lips it may not work. However, if you use a light coat & some soft gloss, or using your fingers & lightly pat the lipstick & then pat or push it into the lip it makes it soft & wearable.

Nope, they weren't there before. They went up yesterday.

Is this Heatherette thing getting out of control, or what?
I, personally, have lost all semblance of rationality, and have ordered backups of "Hollywood Nights" and "Style Minx" without even having seen the actual products in person. How scary is that?
Oh, well, if I absolutely hate them, I can give the backups as gifts, or sell them, or something.
And if I love the colors, I'll never be without them ...

I agree about Melrose Mood, application is everything. Yes, if you cake it on then you will have the "pale pink lips of the damned" look going on. But applied subtly or topped with Starlet Kiss, it is so pretty and unique. I understand that there are a lot of nude lip fans out there, but some of us actually do love a little color on our lips.

I also wish that MAC had made this collection their main focus for related items, such as bags, t-shirts and brushes. I didn't buy anything from Fafi except for one paint pot. The Fafi packaging and finishes were such a turn off, but I would have dropped fat bank on hot pink Heatherette handled brushes or hot pink bags with the Heatherette logo. I was really skeptical of the hot pink packaging when I first saw the promo pics, but the packaging is really well designed and doesn't look cheap or like play makeup. I heart this collection so much. Every so often when I'm really jaded with MAC collections and about to call it quits, they come out with something really fabulous. This collection is one of those for me.

I'm relieved to know that I'm not the only one who'll probably be getting multiple packages from MAC in the same week!

I think I am DONE now, lol! Unless I decide on back-ups!

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I did the same thing

I'm still waiting for my online order which was big enough but today after I got my Easter Basket blessed (I am SO POLISH) I stopped off at my local counter and picked up TWO Alpha Girl which I wasnt even going to get in the first place, Trio 1 (Moodring is just... GAGA!) and Sock Hop (to layer it with Lollipop Loving)

Seems to sort of fit the brand image as well . . .

Okay, that's enough of my 1:30 in the morning ramblings. Hope this doesn't offend, just got a giggle out of it.

OMG I depotted mine and now that i think about it could fit all of that and then some.

Someone needs to start a thread about how they've depotted and "customized" their Heatherette cases and include pictures. I'm already contemplating what to put in mine when I'm done with the shadows. I imagine no one is going to B2M these babies.

haha thats what I'll do with mine! I'll never b2m any of it, isn't that awful.

Guys I got my 2 eye pencils yesterday and I'm disappointed. I don't have really oily eyelids but everytime I get an eye pencil most of the time it smudges like crazy. Everyone loved Feline, but it smudges like crazy on me. And these freaking dual pencils do it too. as soon as I put it on, i can tell they are going to smudge because they are just too creamy. I will try them tomorrow with a base but if it doesnt work then Im returning them. I hate to do it, but then ill be able to buy backups of the lip products

Having a good base like a paint pot or UDPP help them from not smudging. My lids get oily and they smudge these liners if I don't have a good base. Also on the bottom lash I put StudioFix right bellow the lowerlash line to help it not smudge and it stays.

How does Mood Ring compare to Fafi's You're Fresh (in Quad Eyes 2).

They're both greens, I know, but I was wondering which green was nicer. I really don't want to buy Heatherette Trio 1, since Mood Ring is the only colour I want in it, but I will buy it if it's a fabulous easy-to-wear colour.

Completely different. You're Fresh is a dusty lustre formula in a pale minty green (with a bit of a yellow tone). Mood Ring is almost a seafoam green with a smooth metallic veluxe pearl finish.

Mood ring is much better than You're Fresh, which is one of the reason I skipped the Fafi quad. Mood ring has a lovely iridescence to it and has a much better texture than You're Fresh.

LOL! I also called the MAC store to hold Sock Hop to wear with LL!!! So I guess I wasn't quite done!

Trio 1 is gorgeous, I think everyone on here should have at least 1!!! I tried it out yesterday and love! It is very wearable. I can't get over how happy I am about this collection and wish I didn't spend so much on N!

Speaking of Seafoam Green I found an awesome dupe for Moodring
So girls... those of you who dont wanna buy Trio 1 here's your answer

yahoo.gif
NYX Seafoam Green
Also 'kinda' similar is the green found in NYX Trio "Hippe Chic"

Re: Heatherette for MAC Discussion

So, how wearable do you guys feel the She's Bad lashes are. They look ok to me but I am not as wild about them as most people seem to be. They just don't look like they would be that cute on. I have seen a couple photos of people wearing them and I'm still not impressed. I just don't get it.
