...the HK dreams began last night!!

Oh & what happened to the Wild Kitty/Mild Kitty thing? Maybe the pictures we got are only of the Wild Kitty collection. Judging by the teeny colour story we got, there seems to be the "wilder" half of the collection in the picture ..hot pink l/s & l/g, bright orange l/g, hot pink pigment, bright quad, "pleather fetish kitty".. perhaps Mild Kitty will be the cute pink & white theme i was hoping for!!? They DID promise more to come..

My thoughts exactly... We were told before that there would be black and pink packaging, as well as the wild and mild kitty... So, I think we're missing a big part of the picture! I can't wait to see the rest!!!

The size of the dazzleglass tube is not the problem, its the quantity inside(0.06 oz) Both the Shu lipgloss($22 usd) & Chanel glossimers($28 usd) are 0.19oz. Thats more than 3 times more actual product than the dazzleglasses.

I dunno, when I opened my Shu tube for the first time, it was half empty and it felt light. My DGs are always full, heavy, like lil mini batons.

I suspect we're mostly just seeing Wild Kitty so far, at least in the picture. I mean, the article lists a WHOLE LOT of products (6 lipsticks, 6 lipglasses, etc) and there are by no means nearly enough products in the image to make up all of those! Where the kitty on the packaging is black and white, I wouldn't be surprised if the packaging was the same for all - I mean, after all, no one's completely good or completely bad, right?

My DG's have always been full too(I did buy 8 or 9 even though I think they should have more product, lol) I've never bought a Shu LG, so IDK about them, but I do love the Chanel glossimers, they are my new love.

Because there has been an ongoing trend of products not being quite up to par in recent years with their special collections. I mean remember Fafi, and those horrible chalky quads? Personally I thought the lipsticks were really bad as well. Of course we don't know if this will be an issue again with HK, but unless you're a collector, I think these are just a big waste of money. I would guess that most of the money here is going into the packaging, designing, licensing fees with Sanryo, advertisement etc. The cost of the product is probably only a small sliver of expenditures.

For me, all bets are off for the HK collection. I'm going to be lemming nearly everything in it. I loved HK when younger, and I loved the Barbie and Fafi collections, so this is going to be huge. My poor, poor wallet...

I'm pretty much 'collecting.' Depending on how the color collection looks, and what more is added, that may push things. I'm hoping the color collection is going to have a Pro discount.

I am soooooo disappointed in those pictures.
Regular MAC stuff is already black packaging! To me it feels like they sorta just... went lazy. I dunno.
I was expecting so much better for this.
But there are still a lot of things I want

Not impressed or excited. These days I'm staring past the packaging at the actual products and mentally comparing them to other things I have/MAC sell. IMO there is nothing unique except the packaging. Brush sets....on sale now if you want one. If the Hello Kitty rubs off the brush handle, then it's a regular SE brush. A black one at that. Pink lipsticks, orange gloss (Manish)....quads.....I dunno...everything looks so "same-y". Nothing innovative, clever or special IMO. I think MAC knows this will be an easy sell simply because it's Hello Kitty. Obviously the bulk of the work went into the packaging, design, marketing and all the little charms/keyrings/bracelets. Product development must have come last...I don't see any of that ^^ taking time to come up with.

I will not buy for packaging sake. PLUS to me.....she doesn't look like Hello Kitty anymore. Her "look" was much more distinguished in white....now she just looks like any imitation kitty from a pound/dollar store.....just my opinion anyway. I am quite disappointed. I guess the Kouture compact is the only remotely redeeming feature of the whole collection....

I am beginning to think that MAC could bottle water in fancy packaging, sell it for $50....and still be in big business!

I just heard that MAC employees don't get to use their discount on this collection but they are getting ALL OF IT in gratis.

That's it, I'm going to get a MAC application..Maybe I can get a job there before it comes out. hahaha.

It's not surprising that there are we either love it or hate it. I think it would be nearly impossible for MAC to create a collection that pleases everyone, since we all have different ideas and tastes of what this collection should look like. I love the Fafi quads, I think I am the only one, but I find the e/s to be nice, whereas tons of people don't like them at all. It's like when your favorite book becomes a movie - the movie can often be a disappointment b/c that's not how you imagined the characters to look like or whatever. So it's the same with this, I was personally really worried that it would look cheap and juvenile if they made white packaging. I was really unsure of how they were going to pull off HK looking good, in fact in the beginning of this thread I'm sure you could find me saying "umm, HK? No thanks" - but now that I see the final product, I'm very pleasantly surprised! So yea, it is not going to appeal to everyone, but hopefully there are aspects that you like, whether it is a single l/s color or the $90 swarvorski crystal powder or whatever.

the packaging on the makeup products isn't too bad, it could have better/cuter/prettier of course. the accessories on the other hand are hideous, sorry. the bag + that makeup case look cheap, as though it belongs in the hand of a child. i agree with what someone else had posted, the push should have been made of fleece/fur not that pleather material. i don't like the clothes that she is wearing either, the dress + boots = not cute.

when haul-time comes around i'll be focusing on the makeup items from both the colour and "kouture" collections. i may get the brush set too, because that brush holder is beyond cute, and the purse mirror. i'm dying to know what the "kouture" items look like.

i am definitely hoping that whatever new products that will be accompanying this launch are better thought out. if what we are seeing right now is "wild kitty," "mild kitty" needs to way cuter.
