MAC - Love that Look Discussion

part of me really wanted to try out smoke and diamonds to see what everybody is raving for.... but now i've seen it's pretty much the same as sweet sienna (which i have and love) i'm not going to bother

and i've now decided to skip baby blooms so next month i'll only be buying one off and rated r - go me!

Hey everyone...

Sooo, off I went to the mall on my lunch yesterday not completely expecting this collection to be out, but it was, along with Baby Blooms. I love all the new colours, and the texture of the new one's seem to be more consistent than some of the shades last year that didn't make it back. I ended up with...

Style Snob (this to me was different than Satin Taupe in a very important way, Satin Taupe on me has a greyish brown cast (thus why it's called taupe i guess!) that makes it look ruddy. This one is lighter and has more of a mauve tone to it, haven't tried it on, but i think it'll work).

Strike A Pose - I said I would not purchase anymore teals, but this one is unlike the bunch I have (mostly Cool Heat, Lure shadows and Parrot). It seems to be a little dustier looking, so for my purposes (as in work), more wearable. This paired with Ego actually reminded me of a much smoother version of the two pigments that came out with the HK collection (though SAP is lighter in tone than Deep Blue Green p/m

Ego - Someone else already described this as an icy light pink, which is exactly what it is. But it's a straight up cool pink, looks amazing with SAP (as mentioned above!)

Rated R - No way I would've passed this up. I have a few chartreuse-y greens, but this is the best yet, and with the nicest texture.

I'm thinking of B2M'ing and picking up unbasic white and Fashion Groupie, I don't have Satellite Dreams, it was one of those colours on my 'to get' from the permanent collection list, so I think i'm gonna get this one instead!

I have the four pearlglides they brought back from last year, so I was happy to walk away with only four items total!

Oh, and I purged all my make-up today, took out all the items that i do not need, and it made me realize that I really need to cut back in a massive way. What I really don't need anymore of are lip products (as Tish had also commented on herself) and probably MSF's. I discovered a few items that I once loved and actually forgot I had, including my BB peony shimmer brick (makes an amazing blush) and many more non-MAC items! I think it was a reality check that I very much needed!

i have to say that if anyone own the ben nye palette skip unbasic white because ben nye one is the same as unbasic white, but the mac one is just a little bit softer, and some of the color can be dupable for this collection if you have the palette

Satin Taupe is not a dupe for Style Snob at all.

Style Snob is a warm slight golden red undertone taupe.

Satin Taupe is a cool silvery grey based taupe

I agree Elegant...I see the red/pink/Mauve in Style Snob....I see brown/grey/taupe in Satin Taupe....I love love Unbasic white it is the perfect color over any color...The texture makes it the perfect white

Can anyone please stop the dog in my neighbors' apartment barking?? They seem to be gone out and the dog is barking since 2 hours now.

Oh Susanne, that is one of my biggest pet peeves in our neighborhood - barking dogs. Drives me nuts. Can we say inconsiderate - especially at midnight & 5-6 am!

They should have left the dog a smelly t-shirt of them while they were gone...works for my puppy and she is 8 weeks old lol ...She likes my husbands dirty shirts, drawz, old shoes...she is really a perv behind him
