That's a good question. I was wearing (testing) it all day today, but can't bring myself to actually purchase that horrible looking gold case.

The lipstick is more nudish warm pink than a nude and has a bit of a sparkle that comes with a Frost lipstick... but still feels more like a Lustre in texture. It certainly lasted hours longer than a Lustre though.

I can't find anything really similar, maybe a pinker Twig Twig... and when I put it on, it reminded me a bit of a pinker version of Bare Venus. But with a touch of sparkle.

Can someone please tell me if the lipstick "Flourish" is a must-have?
How similar is it to Red No.5?

I LOVED Red No. 5, but don't wear it that often.

Yes, here you will get two powders

We don't know it for HK at the moment. But I hope it will have a refill as well

I just purchased the Identity lipglass just now since my Sugarrimmed d/g ran out today. I also want the lipstick and the Sheer Mystery Powder.

Thanks so much Meryl. That's a big help, I'm really looking for something without any sparkle, and I am with you on the case from pictures I've seen!

It's just a tiny bit of sparkle, nothing that much really.

Also, I thought it might be like 3N initially, but I can't wear 3N alone on my lips without being washed out... it's too beige-y pale for me. This one I can definitely wear on its own and it's still a pale nude-y beige pink. It might be amazing if I layered it with something, even though it can be worn on its own.

Maybe, I'll get it...

Its a nice pink color. Not a pale pink though.

I really wanted the sheer mystery powder... but... once I got there the packaging seemed cheap... and Estee Lauder-like to me for some reason (well I guess, they own MAC, so that kinda might explain it).
As for the compact, it was very heavy (which I like), but once you open it, the real product is about the size of an eye-shadow. It's this teeney tiny lil powder inside... wow... how very Estee Lauder-like lol. And I checked, the powder is ONLY 5g!!! I didn't ask about the refill here in Canada, but even if it does come with one, whoopie 10 g total is not really worth it to me. I'd rather buy from Chanel which has been always my HG for face powders.

Is posh life lipgloss as bright as the swatch on the website? If so I might be tempted to get it.

So I briefly played with part of the collection today at MAC in Soho. A few impressions:

The packaging is, in my opinion, *beautiful* in real life. Obviously not everybody's cup of tea, but to me it has a very substantial, quality feel and I think it's gorgeous to boot.

The Mystery Powder Medium Light is indeed lighter than Model Chic, maybe even too light for me to use in day-to-day use. It's probably not quite NW15, maybe closer to NW17 (I know it doesn't exist, but it seems about halfway between NW20 and NW15) Medium Plus, meanwhile, is a bit darker than my skin, and does seem to have a little bit of yellow undertone. It's not quite NW or NC 25, maybe closer to 23 or 24. I could maybe use it as a bronzer. Not sure. Probably good for NC girls, though.

One disappointment is that the refills are *much* smaller than in the past. As somebody else said, they are only five grams. This means they are about 40% smaller than past refills! It's not really the lack of product that bums me (I'm not a heavy user, I go through mystery powder very slowly) as much as it is the fact that this essentially means our old compacts are useless, if they keep this as the standard, at least for mystery powder. (The compacts will still fit blot powder and studio fix and beauty powders and maybe iridescents?) Honestly I would have rather they had only supplied ONE pan of the old size, or charged more money and given us two 8 gram pans. So, great product and packaging (the compact itself is gorgeous and has a hinge opening like a pocket watch) but the refill size is a big disappointment.

Finally . . . THE BRUSHES! UGH! THEY ARE HEAVEN! Seriously I've never tried a couture brush before but I see what all the fuss is about . . . I almost bought them right then and there, without my discount, and if I hear that they are selling out I will go buy them at full price. Seriously applying powder with the 129 felt like rubbing velvet all over my face. They are incredible. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

I didn't play with the Sheersparks (no interest) and I had no time for the lips, but that's your official Powder and Brush rundown.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention the brushes! So soft!! Unbelievable! And the gold handle with the dangly thing was really nice too!

But do we really need another 129?

I do! Because I don't have one!

(I am like the "weird brush" boy . . . I mostly use a 109 for foundation and beauty powders, a 168 for blushes and contouring, and my 266 and 272 for eye work. But I'm excited to get a little more "mainstream" with these couture brushes because they are TO DIE FOR.)

I actually thought Flourish lipstick was really pretty, but I couldn't bring myself to buy it with that price tag, so I got another So Ceylon instead. So much more worth it.

This is great news about the brushes cause I went ahead last week & ordered the 129 off MAC's site when they became available. I guess I'll decide about the 224 after I see & play with the 129, I just have to see about that dangley thing at the end first.

The 129 from Stylistics is my most prized make-up posession, lol. I'm sure this years is every bit as nice, a very worthwhile investment IMO.
