I got a sample of Black Ore just yesterday, that I bought from a Specktra member, and it was so gorgeous I had to go and buy a full size jar. Luckily, Swedes don't seem to be that into the Solar Bits, so the store still had them available for sale!

So I experimented a little with my Sunpower and have concluded that solar bits suck. They look incredibly awesome directly under bright lights but in normal lighting, the gritty and unevenness shows. That, plus they are $19.50 for 3.5 grams of product and the chunky balls annoy me. Too irritating for me to work with personally. I will be taking mine back and getting some Cool Heat stuff.

i noticed the same thing with sunpower, scatterays & bronzescape (when swatched dry at least). fortunately, black ore does not do that.

I just compared my new Pink Grapefruit with one of my older ones (not sure if it's my original C-Squeeze purchase or the one I got later on from my CCO) and the current release is a bit more pink and a little less bright orange, IMO. The new one also seems to have finer pearl in it. I love Pink Grapefruit any way you slice it tho!

Agreed! I was playing around with my Black Ore tonight and I didnt have a problem with grittiness! The best thing I have found though it to use a very firm brush - like the other horribly textured pigments I always find a firm brush the best. I utterly adore this pigment!! OMG - its SO damn pretty, I bought NARS Night Clubbing a while ago because I wanted the gold on black e/s and I love my Night Clubbing, but this one is way better!!! I might peruse ebay for a 3rd.....

and may i also mention that i'm super bummed that my major haul from neo sci-fi hasn't arrived still? MAC says if it doesn't arrive by Jun 12 to let them know--- june 12??!! that's insane to wait that long! i ordered a bunch of things in one order, but i guess since i ordered so much they sent it USPS Parcel Post, without a tracking # (i'm in Alaska which is why they send it USPS and not UPS) so who knows when it will come!! Anyways as you can tell i'm a little disappointed, considering Cool Heat is almost out and I haven't even rec'd my NSF!!

Aww hun I completely know how you feel. I had to wait 6 weeks to get my Heatherette collection way back when. I was pissed. By the time I got it, I didn't really want it anymore. I ordered like 80% of the collection too. I'm from Cali but stationed oversees so it had to be mailed USPS also.

I hope you get your goodies. If it makes you feel better I still haven't recieved my NSF stuff either.

But if it continues to work out I will be soooo happy if they make it perm 'cause my skin is really picky with products.

I received it a few days ago and tried it on my hand that afternoon and the next day my hand was still so soft and glowy. I dislike the fragrance-y smell but it's not too overpowering so I can deal with it. My jar keep overflowing to the outside every time I close it though, it's so full. =P

I like how when you gently rub it in the little crystals seem to just dissolve. Oh it's wonderful!

I LOVE mine too! I'm using it sparingly at first also, to see how my skin reacts. My jar overflowed all over the outside & box in shipment too

MAC sent me a replacement jar in just 3 days

I have used the Solar Bits a few times. One of those times I had disasterous fallout but was determined to try again because I loved the color. The key for me is to apply in layers, a bit at a time and to tap the fall out off back into the pot.
I now love these so much that I went and got the rest of the colors.

Also, the VAE is amazing!

I think you could def. pull it off! Just use it in the outer V or as a liner...

I'm NW15 and I can pull it off.

I tried it and Pink Grapefruit over Flash-n-Dash does absolutely nothing. Flash-n-Dash is not one that I feel is meant to have anything worn over it.

What do you guys think of Black Ore used as a liner? That's what I was thinking it would be so pretty to be used as.

Oh NO don’t go there! I just bought doubles of Sunpower and Black Ore and one ScatterRays. I knew Black Ore was a no-brainer purchase, but I was a bit reluctant about Sunpower & ScatterRays, but thought I’ll make it work somehow.

When I dry swatched it on my hand, I noticed that it took work to blend it out to achieve that nice even application. It troubled me because I can see how difficult this will be to use over another color without compromising the original shadow application. Hmmm…I'm afraid these may have been a hype purchase!

I think these will work famously on the lips to accent, cheekbones (if you can get it to stick ‘n’ blend), and, of course, nail polish!

Dont forget about using Piggies for the nail polish Ladies! FUN & EASY!
