Re: Neo Sci-fi, Solar Field, And Future Earth

ahhhhh!! i finally got to go in to buy something from this collection because whenever i go with other people including my bf they drag me away from makeup so i can't buy any. lol. it's my one addiction. Even if i had only $100 i would spend half on makeup for sure. haha!!

i only got magnetic fields e/s and soft and slow l/g. i really wanted to get black ore solar bits and pink grapefruit l/g. I also wanted Pleasure Seeker l/s but they were sold out of all of those. i've learned my lesson. Go in early to guarantee you get what you want. haha!! i guess it's a good thing though because now i have more money to spend on cool heat. Is there anything similar to black ore out there?? I know that NARS has a shadow that has a similar description to it.

are you talking about night clubing? trust me, it doesn't hold a candle to black ore!

i think colorqueen said Too Faced Galaxy Glams is similar and there's a swatch in the swatch forum iirc

If you want to get Black Ore, I believe the counter I go to normally still has it-they also have Bronzescape. I almost got a thing of the Scatterrays but a) they were sold out, and b) I preordered my Cool Heat. For the rest of it, it's nothing I feel I can live without. Except Electro and Pink Grapefruit...

I want to know that as well! All the ones around Redmond/Bellevue are sold out of black ore and bronzescape. I really want another Black ore!

I'm surprised, I thought I would love this collection to pieces, but I only walked away with the two of the solar bits in the end (black ore and bronzescape). But I must say, I love what I got! I haven't had too much trouble in application of either. Right now I've been just using my fingers to apply to the lid, then blend out with a brush. I wanna try it with a 242, but I don't have one yet

I called the freestanding store in U-Village and i went into to my Mac counter at the Nordstroms at Northgate and they were both sold out of what i wanted. I probably should've tried the downtown Nordstroms which is the next closest one to me as well as Alderwood.

I talked to a ma at my store yesterday on the phone (to hold the last one of Black Ore) and she said for lining a firm slant brush. And today I was at a different counter and I asked a ma for any tips on applying Solar Bits and she said she used her fingers and holds a paper towel up to catch fallout. I got a sample of Scatterays, this has to be the smallest sample of anything I've ever received. But that was ok because I just wanted to try it myself. It is so pretty and so is Bronzescape (that was all they had.) Of course with such a tiny amount it was easy to stick my finger in and apply a little at a time. I just don't know if I can manage with a larger amount without wasting or spilling it. I mean I'm still scared of pigments for the same reason. So if anyone wants to share some tips they would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't got a chance to play with Black Ore as my daughter picked it up for me earlier and she's still out. I mainly wanted this for lining. Although I have seen some FOTDs on here with it on the lid and they're just gorgeous.

I go to Northgate. Granted this was Friday, so they did sell out since then or maybe I didn't see the sticker. However definitely try any Nordie's that is a smaller market...I would almost call every MAC and have them ship to you if they have it. HTH.

I went Saturday afternoon and they had the sold out stickers on all the solar bits. I will probably try that and hopefully find one somewhere. Thanks!!

I tried Black Ore today in the crease, with Urban Decay Honey on the lid. I used Uppity fluidline as a base. It does take a bit of effort to work it onto your lid if you use a dry brush, like I did, but it is so worth it. So gorgeous and dramatic! Too bad I'm only wearing it to do laundry... LOL!

I tried Scatterays last night and OMG it was hot! I used the 239 with 4 drops of mixing medium and no fall out. I did notice that Solar Bits need double the amount of mixing medium compared to pigments. I normally use 2 drops for pigments but for Solar Bits it needs much more. Black Ore is still on its way so I can't wait to get my hands on that baby!

But duuude, I'm not feelin' Evening Aura.

Since the containers are only half way full they're harder to spill than pigments which are usually full. I just take the plastic insert out and use what's on there and keep the container away from myself so I don't knock it over.
