LOL, as long as he doesn't ask next time: "Oh, are you wearing your new dazzleglass today?" everything is still fine

Yeah I think Scatter Rays looks a lil less chunkier than Black Ore imo. And has great color payoff from the swatch.

jenntoz's last picture with flash is the closest to how Scatterrays looks in the pot. Peachy-gold and very beautiful. I’m wearing it today (in the lab where no one can see me) It is definitely more gold on me and I don’t get any peachiness or pinkness. I’m NC25ish and I applied it over UDPP. It actually worked better last night applying it on a dry eye (no base) with my Duwop Payoff. It is gorgeous; as I’m sure jenntoz will agree, but very glittery. I wore it with Expresso in the crease and Shroom as a highlighter. So far no fallout. I promise I’ll get swatches taken when I get home tonight from work.

For the price & volume, I guess you have to consider if this is a product you would really love/get a lot of use out of. Or, if you are a glitter girl or not

I am a glitter girl, but I also want it to stay where I put it. I am going to try these out at the counter and if they don't knock my socks off, I am going to get Jardin Aires Pigment instead. That has a bit of glitter/shimmer, and I will get nearly double the amount for the same price. We'll see I guess

I am so anxious to see SMMY's swatches!

^I'm thinkin of getting JA piggie too

I found a little sample of Lily White pigm. it has a fair amount of shimmer, but fine. How does that compare to other pigments???

Also, I would've liked to have seen more of a peachy color in Scatterrays

What elegant-one said. I strongly agree with seeing these at the counter first (I sound like a broken record). They are pretty, but also pretty expensive and a bit of work to apply, which brings me to my new theory.
MAC can't jack up prices on existing products too much without risking upsetting it's customer base. It's a Mid priced cosmetic line after all. But I've noticed that several of it's new products are priced at or over high end cosmetics (Dazzleglass and now Solar bits), when you do the quantity vs. price analysis. I know that they've had to do product development, but they've released other new products in the past without having the product costing double the price of other comparable products in the line.
That being said, these are gorgeous, but I bet there is going to be massive sticker shock when people open the containers and see how little product is in the jar. Kind of the cosmetic equivalent of "Where's the beef?".

I love the color of Lily White, but that is what I would consider one of the more chunky pigments. It's not as bad as some, but it is chunkier than Vanilla or Jardin Aires or Tan.

No kidding - I seriously thought she scooped some out when I saw how little was there

I know. I am so glad you posted about your less than overflowing jar as well. I wasn’t sure if someone had taken a little sample out. *feels guilty about being so mistrusting*

I’m not trying to discourage anyone from getting these, just would hate for someone to buy all four of these sight unseen and be disappointed by the product or the price. I know I’m use to getting pigment in jars that are usually filled right to the top. I also rationally know that these are much denser than regular pigments. Irrationally though, when I first opened the pot, I was really shocked at the small amount of product in the pot. I’ll try to get some comparison pics tonight when I do the swatches, so everyone will have an idea of what we’re talking about size wise. It’s still a really cool looking product, but I’m betting that people will be more selective of how many they buy when they see them in person.

Oh and in my humble opinion, Scatterrays is gorgeous and worth the price and work to apply it.

I think it is going to be trial and error with these for a while. They have a bit of a learning curve, don't they? I'm hoping erine comes in and gives us some advice on how to work with them, since shes our resident expert. It is fun playing with them, but now I put a couple of pieces of paper towel under the container before I open them, to deal with the mess.

I also checked for fallout this afternoon. Nothing really visible unless you shine a flashlight on your face (which one of my fellow mad chemists did in an effort to prove it). So not too shabby for adhering capability.

SMMY - *snicker* ya, I had to do the paper towel thing too. I'm trying different combos to see if I come up with anything different.

Do all the colors have the same amount of glitter or are some less???

I'm hoping erine will give us some input as well
