MAC - Starflash Discussion

so, seeing as how i have zero restraint i went back and ordered 4 more of these online today. so i have 6 starflash e/s total [i already have smoke & diamonds + top hat]. 6/12 not bad, right? i went ahead and got glamour check! & bold & brazen, even though i claimed they looked like twinks & expensive pink respectively. i looked at some of the swatch pictures i have on my comp. and the starflash e/s differ significantly from their alleged dupes. i must have been fooled by the lighting in the store, because they appear different outside [where i took the pics].

i also got sunset b. even though i have 2 other pinks their level of pigmentation fails in comparison to this one. i picked up dreammaker also because i don't really have anything similar to it [plus, that was my bf's pick of the lot]. solar white is close but its texture makes it so it looks better as a highlight than a lid color [which is what i want dreammaker for]. so i'm hoping i don't get anymore urges to pick stuff up from this collection. i need to save up for cult of cherry.

So I'm kind of torn. I had very little time today and put Lotusland on my inner eyelid, Top Hat in the outer with Smoke & Diamonds in the crease.

It's a gorgeoussss combination! At first I wasn't sure how I liked the Lotusland on me. It was heavenly when I swatched it and I still think it's such a pretty color but I don't know if it does me any justice. It definitely is beautifully pigmented though and the more I look at my eyes the more I'm liking it so I think I'll keep it.

Anyway I can't wait for my Bold & Brazen and Glamour Check! to arrive, it looks like it will be Wednesday. =)

Hoo-wah!!! Moss Scape is perfect under M&S!! GC in crease blended upward, GE to highlight. Orpheus to line, with M&S to deepen. Raven to line outer corner......beautiful smoky eye!!!!

UPS rolled up a little while ago & delivered Raven k/p & Glamour Check to me, so I had to play. I combined Grand Entrance, Bold & Brazen & Glamour Check & used Raven k/p & all together it was gorgeous!!! So thanks to all you enablers(you know who you are!!!) I am SO glad I got these last 2 things cause they are amazing!!!

I have the exact same coloring and I totally agree that smoke & diamonds is freaking awesome! I am THINKING about getting a back up because I will be sad if I ever run out of this color!

They are definitley different. On me the heatherette color is more of a white pink(highlight style color, IMO) and sunset B is more of a true pink(more of a lid color, IMO)

So i plan on back 2 mac-ing for Smoke and Diamonds and Top Hat. Im not sure what one other one i should get if any...

Should i try to go for Sunset B even though i've never used any pinks ever and own none because i feel they look strange on me. lol. The closest i've got to pink is pink pearl which is more of a purpley pink.

VIP from Trio 2 is more of a glittery pink.....Sunset B has a different finish and color payoff, much more of a 'sheen' than a glitter.

LOL, I am a moron.

Those 2 are similar, but the heatherette pink has a glitter & they have a different finish, sunset B has a nice glow to it that heatherette doesn't have.

I'm right there with ya! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Taupy colors! I have of course 2 of the Clue, that usually is what I use most all the time when I put on my quick makeup for work.

I love tempting too! I think that was amongst some of the first colors I've every bought from MAC. I Love doing an every day smokey eye with Tempting in the crease and Patina on the lid with Shroom as a highlight. LOVE IT! So GO was a definite GO for me!!!

So you finally got your package?

What did you think of everything else? Glamour Check is actually really nice when swatched in person. It's nothing like the worst piece of MAC we both bought.

Yes I sure did! I really LOVE everything. I don't think there was one thing I didn't like! I'm just amazed at the texture and how soft creamy and dreamy they are! lol
S&D lives up to all the reviews! It's just gorgeous. Go is is wonderful! My Sunset B is great... a lot of people said their texture was blah but mine is just fine. Not as creamy and soft as others but it def. is very nice! I'm thinking of checking out Glamour Check. I need to see it in person before I order it since I was so disturbed by that one...lol.
I'm wishing I ordered Bold & Brazen, I will have to get it the next time I'm at the mall. All of the liners are just amazing!
The 2 longwears I got were sensational!! LOL they seem to have a better feel on my lips as others. I just love the colors too! I got Pink Air and Boss Brown. Did you get any?

So after saying i am not getting ish until i get my pro card...I bought feline (need like 3 backups now) Top hat, Glamour check, and Mink &Sable. I was totally going to get smoke & diamonds but for some reason in my head i kept thinking of root beer from NYX. so I got home and they arent exact dupes but i think close enough for me. I am def a girl who get sucked in by a name haha so I may b2m smoke & diamonds because it sounds so sexy. I did a look at home feline smudged over lid m&s packed on top, root beer and zero in crease then top hat with a 219 to further define. Gorgeous! these shadows are hot! and the finish is so amazing.

thanks so much to the ladies who recommended Bold & Brazen & Glamour Check!! these are SOO hot! first seeing them in the pot I didn't think there was any way they would work on me, but the MA was like let me put them on your lid they will make your blue eyes pop... and they did! beautiful!!

also picked up 2 backups of smoke & diamonds I think this will be my new HG...it's freaking AMAZING!!!!

now i want to go back for raven, feline & possibly orpheus!! ugh MAC stop taking my money!!!

My vote would be for Glamour Check and Bold & Brazen, even though I know you asked about getting one more! Sunset B. is a really pretty pink, and you probably wouldn't find it looking strange if you define it with a darker more neutral shade on the outer corner.

The texture of my Sunset B. is perfectly fine too... I love the texture of all of them except Dreammaker. My dreammaker is not smooth at all... not even close to the others.

I think S&D is the best.... I got my backup and one for my sister. I think it might be the only shadow I ever bought a backup of.

I haven't tried the lustre twins yet... I saw them in person and they are so pretty, but I'm hesitant to buy because I'm thinking they'll probably dry out my lips.

I'm heading to CCO on Wednesday Kerri... so pm me if you want me to keep an eye out for something. I'll gladly pick up whatever.
