MAC Strength Collection Discussion (December 2012)

there's one artist i really want to sign up with, but somehow the scheduling hasn't worked out so far. it's strange, my local store told me that i couldn't just sign up for a makeover without an event. well, you can, but you don't get any products for your $50. i was kind of surprised to hear that, and now that i'm seeing your comment, i wonder if i just spoke to someone who was new and didn't understand the policy?
I agree that it had to be somebody new because that doesn't sound right at all. I believe people have the option of paying for the makeover without getting products for their money, but it's only an option (and a silly one at that...I mean really, why would anyone do that? lol).

Sometimes you can't just walk in and get your makeup done (especially on a weekend), but if you make an appointment and spend at least $50 on products (which seems to have been your plan!), that should never be a problem. At least not that I've ever heard of! I HAVE heard of some stores (not counters) saying people have to buy at least $75 of products to have their makeup done on days that are considered special events. The store by me did that this past New Year's Eve. Honestly, I was surprised at that and wondered if that was a new companywide policy, or if it was just that store.

Regardless, the point is, I have never heard of having to pay $50 to get your makeup done at any MAC without taking products home. Try talking to someone else there and see what happens.

Yeah, unless it's a lesson at a mac store, you always get the fee redeemable in product.

I just ordered poised. I also noticed that pink pigeon and party parrot say "coming soon." Don't know if this is old news though.

I actually know of free standing stores that charge $50 for an uninterrupted makeup session with no products included. That is the only way you can make an appointment there or you can walk in and see if they can squeeze you in and get $50 in product to take home, but they will walk away to help other customers while doing your makeup. I guess each store has its own policy.
