Did MAC decide to have a Style Black preview party, like they did with Makeup Art Forever Collection.. ?
I went to the other one, but didn't receive an invite to this. I'm pretty friendly with the MUAs at my local MAC so thought about giving them a ring, but wanted to know first if anything like this was happening.
This is going to sound crazy, but I'll be admitted into the hospital for 48-72 hours on the 21st.. and I do NOT want to miss this collection! LOL I think MAC will bug me more!

^^ I don't know if other places are having a Style Black launch party, but tonight it was Fashion's Night Out in NYC so they had a Style Black event for it at some of the MAC stores in the NY area.

There were a lot of events in NYC to celebrate Fashion Week / Fashion's Night Out. Like Erine said, only some NYC MAC locations did 'sneak peeks'. I went to the SoHo location to swatch and record for you gals (don't worry, I asked permission first). I'm trying to upload the video on youtube (ravematic) and will post the swatches soon.
Night Violet looked really good, I'm not much for dark lips but this sure sways me! The MES' are glittery goodness. I think I'll get all but Gilt by Association. The grease paint = awesome. That bad boy stuck to my hand like white on rice. btw, my MA advises to do one eye first, bc it dries quickly and you won't be able to smudge it if you do both. I couldn't decide after all the talk about the exfoliator and mask, so I got both haha.

Hi Ladies! I went to today's preview Fashion Night Out event in NYC. One of the MUA said they were already selling out quickly, and it wasn't even 6:20 (its started at 6). I went to the SoHo store as well. It seemed that most of the MAC stand alone stores in Manhattan and the one in Brooklyn were previewing, so if one sold out, I knew where I was gonna run to next, lol.

I will say the greasepaint stick is awesome, and as mentioned above, you do have to work quickly, but it is smudgeable. The polish goes on so smoothly, I love it. When I swiped the silver MES on my hand, I just thought it was too glittery for me to get away with. The purple MES was nice, but I didn't think I would get much use out of it. The cremesheen lipstick is more sheer than I thought it would be; it took a few swipes to build up the color. The glosses are really sheer, so the shimmer payoff is subtle. The pure black gloss...I don't like the consistency...I may return it (don't worry, I didn't apply to my lips directly from the bottle)...it was hard to get smooth on my lips. The mattenes feel good on; night violet is gonna go into direct rotation now; great color. Midnight Media mattene may just go in my kit or I may return it. I need to rethink it now, since I could probably just use the cremesheen, and if I need to make it matte, I can lay down some Carbon e/s or something.
I think that if you put on a thin layer of the cremesheen, then apply a glittery red gloss on top, it will definitely work for the holidays and not look too scary on darker skin (I tried it out with an old gloss, but I'm betting my money that Amorous from the upcoming Dazzleglass collection will look awesome on top). Here are some pictures from the event!
The last one is the lips with the Black Knight lipstick and Blackfire glimmerglass. I asked one of the MAs how I can pull off Black Knight and she said I could use it as "lip stain". What she did was apply the lipstick just a little bit with a brush and used Blackfire on top of it-it came out as dark purple! She said that it has some purple in it even though it looks like true black. (I also believe that's what the description said?) Anyways, I was sold after I tried it on-I can use it from a fairly natural look to a bold one since the color is buildable. So I recommend that you ladies/gents check it out even if you are not too interested just by looking at the color. You might end up liking it after you try it on
The MA also let me try VAE and thermal mask on my hands and they felt quite nice. So I ended up getting both of them. I will give my 2 cents after I actually use them on the face for a while
I couldn't resist all the MES... There was a lady who was getting her eye makeup done next to me, and the MA was using Young Punk over the grease paintstick. I just couldn't stop staring at her while I was getting my lips done...it was soooo gorgeous! I can't wait to try both of them together
The texture was also very smooth!
I tried to take pictures of swatches but the lighting here is not good...so will try again during the daytime-this may put me in trouble though...I find myself loving collection more and more everytime I look at them and now I'm thinking I want backups

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post. I called my local MAC counter to ask when I could reserve products from this collection. They said as soon a they have them in stock and they just happened to have the whole collection in already. I was able to reserve everything on my wishlist and the MA asked if I wanted to come in tomorrow and look at the collection.

It's my first day on Specktra in quite some time (well, it feels like a long time when I usually visit daily) and I'm already NEEDING this entire collection.
I keep telling myself that I dislike MAC's MES (which I do every time new ones come out) but the swatches of these are irresistable!
I'm on lemming overload!! I haven't been this excited about a collection since CoC!
