What I'm saying is, I'm sure there are alternatives to buying all the MSFs just to try them out 100% to find out if they're meant for you. While that may be the ideal way to fully test out a product, I'm very sure not all of us can afford to do that; MSFs don't come cheap.
yes.gif
And I think once you start buying all the MSFs ever released (to try them out or for whatever purpose), you'll probably not want to sell them off (especially if you get into the collector mode) because you'll want them all (plus they're so pretty to look at too

).
winks.gif

Nope no alternatives for me...I love them all I buy them all. My life is if I want it I just figure out a way to afford it....Yes they are $28 but $28 every couple of months is not that costly if you budget right. I spend that much a week on other unnecessary things that won't last years like MSF's do...

I agree...In the store I hated it...Got home...LOVE...was bombed that I did not get it right away........But sometimes in the store you just can't tell.

Oh, I forgot to look at Sugarshot... well no, I swatched it on my hand but wasn't paying attention at all. I was telling the MA everything I wanted. I'm wondering how nice it was now.

Btw, Happy early birhday Adina! My birthday is on Sunday! I'm not sure what to ask for.. I usually ask for makeup or jewelry. Actually I'm not going to ask for anything because he just got me a 1 carat diamond and platinum cross necklace for V-day. So we'll see... he can get me whatever he wants. I really want a Toywatch though.

I know what you mean, I always get distracted when I'm at the MAC counter & forget to swatch or look for something. Its so easy to lose focus there.

Oh, the diamond cross sounds very pretty!

I stopped in at my counter and finally had a look at the Sugar Sweet collection, and here are my thoughts:

Lipsticks:

Bubbles - A very frosty white....I kind of like it, but it went on blotchy on me. I dotted a bit on over Sweet Thing, and it was very pretty...but I am on the fence about it. I think I need to play with it a bit more.

LL - I like it, but it didn't wow me. I missed out on it during Heatherette, so I really wanted it. I did have to pile it on to get it to show up on my very pigmented lips. I could not perceive much of the green sparkle though. I think I was just having a bad lip day...lol.

Sweet Thing - A beautiful shimmery Magenta with nice color payoff. Love it!!

Saint Germain - Creamy and MEGA pigmented Pepto-Bismol pink. One swipe and it was like WHAM!!! I seriously want to love this since I missed out on MM...but I don't know...it was just so...OVERPOWERING!! And I can rock some bright lips, but DAYUM!!

Touch - Didn't appeal to me...looked like a boring peachy-brown on.

Shadesticks:

Red Velvet - Wow...this one is nice, and it is not as frosty as the others. It really should be called Pink Velvet...as it is not red at all. It looks a bit like fuschia pigment, but with no shimmer.

Penny - A deep copper color...kind of limited in what I could use it with since it is such a dark color. It's pretty though.

Lemon Chiffon - This looked straight up frosty white on me. It would make a good base for just about any color I think.

Cakeshop - This is a very unique color for a shadestick. It is a gorgeous frosty pewter gray with a deep green cast. I like it quite a bit, as I wear lots of green e/s.

Butternutty - Shimmery pink-champagne color...not that unique, but gorgeous none the less.

MSF's

Refined - Gives my NC-35 skin a nice peachy glow, though it doesn't show up easily though, and I had to work with it a bit, and ultimately used a kabuki brush in order to get some color payoff. The texture is far more smooth than many of my other MSF's, and there is less glitter.

Perfect Topping - A gorgeous glowy highlighter. The one I tried had a good bit of lavender veining in it...and it was very nice. Again, I used a kabuki with this one as well.

Tri-colour Lipglasses:

These were all basically sheer on me. The most pigmented out of the bunch was Tasty, which looked nice over Sweet Thing. But these were a pass for me because I have more sheer gloss than I could use in two lifetimes, thanks...
nonono.gif

Eyeshadows:

Sugarshot - I like it. It's white and frosty and yummy. Yes it's a lustre, but it is very pretty. I think the shadesticks will help with fallout. Plus I don't already own a similar color.

Dear Cupcake - Pretty corally-pink and very sheer. It seems to have almost a matte finish. I like my e/s more pigmented so I passed.

Club, Aquavert, and Stars n Rockets - Already have them and I love them all!!

Nail Lacquers:

Peppermint Patti - My counter was sold out, but I tried the tester and it was a really cute creamy mint green. It would need 3 coats I think to look best.

Seasonal Peach - Pretty peach color, but went on streaky.

Overall, I was impressed, but not "Wowed". I think the shadesticks are the stars here.

Here is what I ended up getting:

Red Velvet s/s
Butternitty s/s
Cakeshop s/s
Lemon Chiffon s/s
Sweet Thing l/s
LL l/s
Perfect Topping MSF
Sugarshot e/s

I may go back for:

St. Germain l/s
Bubbles l/s
Refined MSF

Well there ya go!!

I love Sugarshot!

It looks similar to the colour you see in the pot, because Butternutty doesn't alter it as much as Lemon Chiffon (which gives it some gold). But it adheres nicely to the SS, so it really pops on the lid! Actually, I used to get frustrated with lustres like a lot of people on here before i started using shadesticks, but now it has become my favourite finish for the lid! I love the texture and the shadesticks really make the colours pop. But above the crease I prefer VP's.

Thanks darling! My bf actually yells at me all the time because I hate flowers. They just look pretty for a couple of days, and then.. die. Its all so depressing! He says I take the fun out of just because gifts

Seriously, its ridiculously hard to shop for me because a. with clothing I HAVE to try on (to see if it will fit H&D) b. with jewelry I have a very distinct style and only change certain pieces (for example, i never take off my necklace unless im wearing a whole set for going out) c. with makeup i love to buy it myself d. what else is there?!?!

For a while I was thinking one of those mini laptops, but I don't travel enough to warrant getting one! Besides, I want to upgrade my current laptop sometime in the next year.

Gosh I am difficult!

That is fabulous for that spot of highlight in small places if I want some.

I am SO glad you enjoyed the reviews. I like to write them in depth for people who might not be able to get to a MAC counter or who need fresh input on stuff.

I find that metal rock is a great contour too and everyone hated that- the key is to learn how to make it work. As a NW25 Metal Rock looked scary in the pan, but very lightly applied for contour- OMG it is amazing.

th_DANCE.gif

Awesome, I am adding Metal Rock to my want list now lol

And yep, it is the 165 from BBR... I LOVE that one for highlighting too. I just love the shape of that brush... it is so CUTE

Let me know when you have another review- I love reading them, esp. since we are the same skintone.

Geesh, I hate when they're out of things! Especially staples like Blacktrack! Springbean sounds like it would be gorge over LL! That's actually a gloss I've had on my list for awhile but I forgot to check it out when I was in yesterday. Plus, my amazing grandmother treated me to the SS items I got yesterday (PT, Bubbles, and a backup of LL). My grams was so cute chatting with the MA, though
yes.gif
. Love her! I might have to check it out when we go shopping, though!

Happy early birthdays to those with special days coming up soon!

I'm so damn irritable today. Whatev, just thought I'd share that.

Anyway, could someone tell me about the storms everyone is talking about? I haven't had a chance to watch t.v. in awhile and I have no clue what is happening. I could look it up, but I am too damn lazy. Please be safe if you are affected. I love you all...

BTW, I have worn LL every single day since it arrived. Today I just wore some old shizz, but I still have my LL on. Sweet mother, I even put it on before I went to sleep the other night. Which was redonk b/c I have white sheets and now my pillowcase is all about the Lollipop Lovin'.....

To end this post in the manner in which is was started, I will probably lay down a bitch slap today. Just because.

LOL, I used to feel the same way, now I enjoy them as long as they are not very expensive, I think of it like eating out at a restaurant you enjoy it for a short time but with flowers at least it will not end up on my thighs

Beautiful ring. Then why not a massage, facial or manicure & pedicure voucher like someone mentioned earlier

I agree with you. Fortunately, a makeup decision is not as costly as some others
th_LMAO.gif
If I want it, I am getting it.

Makeup does not have to be so tedious, making lists and questioning...maybe thats just me. I think I am more like you TISH...just get em all...

I finally got the MSFs from this collection
smiles.gif
i'm very pleased so far.

Perfect Topping is gorgeous. Mine has a pretty good amount of lavender. I like to think of this as a powder version of Strobe Liquid/Cream. It gives off a pearlescent pinky effect like Strobe does

So far I have:

Dear Cupcake
Stars n' Rockets
Sugarshot
Aquavert
Lemon Chiffon SS
Red Velvet SS
Lollipop Loving
Saint Germain
Tasty
Perfect Topping MSF

BUT I am still lusting over Club, Cakeshop, Bubbles, and Sweet Thing. Do I NEED any of these? I'm almost positive about getting Bubbles but what about the others?

Agreed on the expensive dinners. I just don't see the point of spending a ton. All I need is sushi

and Thanks!

Sheesh, life was much easier when I was in college and didn't have anything! All I wanted recently was a camera and I got that for the holidays. Regarding the spa thing, I just see that as a waste. Maybe I am being practical but I enjoy things i can play with. (that didn't sound wrong at all
