After reading that everyone is getting Marine Life, it's on my to get list now! I also saw some swatches that showed that it was prettier than Hipness so I'll definetely get it before it sells out. So this is my definite list for the day it comes out:

Marine Life
Firecracker e/s
Scorcher n/l

And then when I get paid, I'll get:

Hipness blush
Thrills l/s
Funbathing l/s
Flurry of Fun l/s

And if they swatch pretty:

Get Away Bronze blush
Weekend bronzer

This forum does nothing for my wallet either but I just can't stay away!!

I got 2 only because I figured, I can either have one that I wont use and one that I do use or worst comes to worst, someone who couldn't get it will have a chance of getting it while still paying the same price, not $100.

When I called asking aboutthe collection, the Ma just said it was coming out on the 27th and hung up

My Nordstrom had testers out today. Here is what I liked:

1. Lipstick in Thrills and Funbathing. I think Thrills is a beautiful color.
2. Lipglass in Flurry of Fun. The teal shimmer seriously rocks!
3. Lip Pencil in Life's a Breeze.
4. High Light Powder Marine Life. This is really pretty and has got a good color payoff. Most of the women at the counter were pre-ordering it.

5. Nail Polish In the Buff. For some reason I liked this color. I don't have anything similar. It's a fun summer color.
6. Cream Bronzer in Beach Bronze. I didn't expect to like this one but it's a great creamy texture and color. I was sold.

7. Bronze Body Oil. When my MA told me about it, I just thought "eh" but as soon as I tested it, I liked the shimmer and non-sticky and smelly texture.

I think that's my list which is much more than I actually thought it would be.

Hope this helps. I am between NC30 and NC35 these days.

Ive been trying to figure out what I'll wear when I go to MAC to get my makeup done with this collex. I figure it should at least match the firecracker and sweet/punchy since thats what I want the MUA to try
tong.gif
. Oh well I have two weeks till I decide

BTW....today makes it one whole year that I have been laid off! Hard to believe a year has gone by....seems like more to me.[/quote]

Today makes one year that I've been laid off. Time has definetely gone by quick for me. I guess it's because I'm school and I'm so busy that it flys by.

Well that's not a good way to keep business. I don't know why people act like that considering that they are not the only place you can get MAC at. You would think they would bend over backwards in order to get repeat customers.

I got my small order from Bloomingdales today and I love it. My local Nordstroms is having a trend show tomorrow and my favorite MUA is going to do my make up with my new goodies.

I got Sweet and Punchy and Firecracker e/s. Not much more I can add to what has already been said about them. They are awesome. Audrey, these are calling your name.

I also got Flurry of Fun l/g. I can honestly say that I don't have anything even remotely like it in my (embarrassingly large) collection. I've been rocking it today with Chanel's Genial l/s. Elegant and Shontay I immediately think of both of you with this one.

When the collection hits stores I will pick up the 131, the lightest cream bronzer, the body oil and Thrills lipstick and call it good on this collection.

Ok, yesterday I got:

Blush Hipness - one of the prettiest blushes in a very long time for me! This is my personal highlight of this collection. It is a perfect pink-coral shade with a hint of golden shimmer. I love Springsheen, but this one is even better.
I was really disappointed by the second blush - why could we not get another plumy or mauve one?

Bronzing Powder Refinded Golden - of course. This is my number one bronzer ever, I use it every day. The new packaging is really summery and cute, way better than the orange from Neo Sci-Fi. I will post comparison pics this afternoon. I skipped the cream bronzers as my skin is so sensitive at the moment, I get breakouts easily again, so why trying something new if I love Refined Golden?
I am into MAC since 2006 and have learned not to try every new product just because it is new.

e/s Firecracker - awesome shade! Wow, so intensive, but easily to blend as it is a Veluxe Pearl. It will look great with a lot of other e/s.

e/s Sweet & Punchy - I love these greens! I already have Lucky Green, Rated R and Bitter - but this one looks so cute in the green packaging! I am sure I won't regret it, this is also a standout of the collection for me.

I passed Humid and Shimmermoss as I already have them from the perm line - I love the special packaging but had to tell me "no".
Sand & Sun is very pretty as well! For those of you who look for a soft but summery shade - get this one.

l/s Lazy Day - a perfect pink l/s, similar to Angel. I haven't got Angel, so I wanted this one.
Thrills is similar to Brave New from Style Warriors I think, so I skipped it.

Well, that's it! I passed all the lipglasses - I was disappointed this time. All three shades we have seen so far. Splashing seems to be a due for Cult Fave from Fafi, Easy Lounger is one of those soft baby pinks I have a lot here. If you have the peach l/g from Hello Kitty, Dame Edna or GMLOL, you can also pass Flurry of Fun.

If this was my first MAC summer collection, I would have bought a lot more, but it is my fifth and as I have a lot already I just picked up what I needed to complete my collection.

The packaging is great! The orange is a soft one and the two greens look lovely together.

Pics will follow!

Great haul Susanne! Thanks to everyone for the great reviews. So helpful!

Elegant & Allison you girls crack me up!

I am getting really excited for the event on Tuesday. I am part of the first group to go in so I should be able to get all of the items that I want without fear of them being sold out. (fingers crossed)

I decided that I can't miss Marine Life. I know I will be mad at myself if I don't get it and if I end up not liking it I will swap it.

Excited to see this swatch! I'm really hoping they're close so I can fill my Float On By craving with the MUFE pencil instead.

Glad to help

. I've learnt the trade of enabling from the best
tong.gif
.
I forgot to mention that my skin type is dry-very dry and I'm not sure how the cream bronzers would behave on an oilier skin type in terms of effect, staying power etc.

I've already compared L12 and FOB when I was at the counter and decided to skip FOB (although they are not identical, L12 being darker). However, when I tried to recreate the Sweet&Punchy facechart I realized that the MUFE aqua liner is really too dry to be used as a base or even a smudged liner on my upper lashline (it was really tugging my lids). Once I receive FOB, I expect to use MUFE on my waterline and FOB as a smudgy liner or a base.

I have to disagree with these. Brave New Bronze and Thrills are nothing alike. BNB is almost matte in finish and it's a caramel/nude shade while Thrills is shimmery rosy copper shade.

Also Flurry Of Fun is very unique, I have seen nothing like it before with Mac. There was no even similar l/g with Hello Kitty nor with Dame Edna or GMLOL, so I would say there is no dupe for it, or even a twin colour for it. The lipglasses from those collections could not even describe somewhat similar, they all are far from what FOF is like. The green/blue/violet shimmer on a light true peach base colour is what makes it so unique.

It is amazing in person and I think it is the only "THE" item of this collection when it comes to unique and never seen before products (with maybe In The Buff?).
smiles.gif
What everyone's preferences are is different, I just pointed out the uniqueness.

Katie, I can't wait to hear your report from the event. I haven't been to one at a freestanding store since Fafi. I am extremely claustrophobic and those things get too crowded and too crazy for me.

Yes, like Susanne said, it's lighter, and also more of a true peach rather than a coral. It has more yellow and less pink compared to FTB. They would probably look nice paired together though

Thanks Susanne. Sounds like I can skip Sand and Sun. I have also decided to skip Marine Life. I have the new Bobbi Brown coral shimmer brick as well as Hipness, Instant Chic and an older coral blush I don't recall the name of (Foolish something?). I will wait for Stereo Rose MSF instead.

I'm a bit surprised that cream bronzers aren't a bigger hit. To me, Beach Bronze is definitely neither too dark nor glittery. It actually appears much darker in the pot and is really, really sheer once applied (I'm probably between NW/NC 15-20 right now and if I apply one layer with a brush, I can hardly detect any colour). It melts with the skin instantly, blends effortlessly leaving a golden glow. When I hear ‘glitter’, I think of Superglass or the middle stripe/crescent in recent MES. In BB, however, there is shimmer, a lot of golden shimmer. If one prefers a more matte bronzer this one is definitely not what you’re looking for.
I've even put some bronzer on my neck, shoulders and down to my neckline and the effect was lovely. What I need/want during the summer is a multitasker and in my opinion Beach bronze is exactly that. I can imagine using it on my face and then adding some to the décolletage in the evening for that extra oomph
drools.gif
.
I also couldn't resist the temptation and ordered Float on By despite the possible smudging factor- I promise to swatch it next to MUFE L12 once I receive it.

The cream bronzers sounds great

Which brush do you use for application?
