MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I attended the mac to the beach collection crazy!! I met another Specktra poster and I met a youtube gruru. It was packed! they had male models making necklaces, coconut cocktails, and little pastries. Now, onto the collection
Firecracker: very pretty, I skipped this as I have an e/s similar
Sweet and punchy: very pretty as well but I skipped this since I have rated r e/s.
I skipped the rest of the shadow as I already have those and I didn't care for sun and sand.
Cream bronzer in weekend very pretty for NC 25-40. Breach bronze , not pigmented, and very shimmery.
Lipsticks: thrills lipstick I liked but I loved fresh salmon better they looked alike when swatched, thrills has a frost finish so I crossed that from my list sunbathing is exactly like o lipstick but I love the creamsheen finish though.
lipglass:splashing loves it! the only lipglass I liked it's more pigmented than the others which seemed so light more like an addition to lipstick.
Hipness blush: big disappointment! that thing was chalky! and not pigmented I saw this on NC30 skin and it wasn't pigmnented at all. I swatched it and it's chalky and not pigmented at least to me so who ever said that they thought it was chalky right on!
Marine life: that was shocker to me this is pigmented enough for my NC50 skin tone as well as different skintones from very fair to very dark. This ended up selling out at the party I attended. so for those who wanted this better be on the ready!
float on by : love this very pretty teal with silver( I'm a sucker for teal)
I got marine life, splashing lipglass, and float on by eyeliner

You are such a sweetie! Yeah it seems those babies are going to sell out fast! On livejournal someone said in her store they sold out today at the party and they told her they weren't getting more! :S

Hi everyone!
I am back from the launch party. I didn't really get to play with the collection as I was short on time. I just filled out what I knew I wanted now and stood in line. I will wait to swatch more leisurely when the collection is out. Like a true MAC addict I was in the first group, first in line, and first to buy my stuff.
I ended up with: Sun & Sand e/s, Sweet & Punchy e/s, Marine Life, Beach Bronze cream brozner, flurry of lipglass(LOVE THIS & thank you to everyone who raved about it), Hipness Blush, and 131 brush. I asked for firecracker e/s & float on by eye kohl but they didn't put it with my order. Oh well I will just pick those up next Thursday.

Really? I didn't notice anything bad. I hope one of those drunk people wasn't me. I have a tendency to act drunk even though I am not. I had lots of fun swatching everything and drinking my watered down pinapple cocktail. Although people did keep dropping things haha. I was pleased that it wasn't over crowded so I didn't feel annoyed at not being able to find a MA.

I attended the launch party in San Diego and have to say I was a little underwhelmed by the bronzing products themselves. But the lipsticks and lipglasses were my love! Picked up Lazy Day and will wait until the collection is formally released to pick up Easy Lounger. The MA who helped me out combined the two and they were amazingly beautiful together!
As for the collection party itself, I was amused by the guy making necklaces in just shorts but gotta say that the drinks that were served down in SD weren't watered down! Had a nice buzz when I walked out-- then again, I could just be too much of a lightweight XP

No, it wasn't you for sure (just saw your picture in your blog). hehe
Did you go to the one in Robson St.? I went to Metrotown, and the store is like 1/4 of the one in Robson. hehe If you went to the one in Robson, maybe that's why it wasn't overcrowded, or maybe it was the time, you were scheduled for 8:30 PM, right?

I got the cream bronzer as well (To the beach), and while the texture is great, I find it quite glittery. There is shimmer AND glitter, if you know what I mean... I tried it yesterday w/o any foundation, and the colour disappeared after one or two hours, leaving just the glitter behind.
I used the 188 with it.
Maybe I should have gotten Refind Golden or Golden...

Ugh, I just saw that my store had a launch party -- so much for my hopes of Marine Life! I'm going to check this week to see if they sold out.
If so, I'll need to decide if I really want it, because I'll have to get it at the counter in the Dillard's I hate (horrible experience trying to return something) or else make a trip to another suburb's counters. I just bought Undercurrent from that Dillard's counter and I felt bad enough to be giving them sales.
OTOH, the news about the Disney villains collection is killing my lemmings a bit, because I know I will spend a lot on that.... After all, non-blush girls don't really need a coral face powder!

Thanks everyone for all your great reports from the parties. I'm jealous as anything for not being able to attend any due to none being near me. With all that you've said I guess I'll call the store and see if they'll hold Marine Life or just order that online next Tuesday. I have an appt to get my m/u done on the 28th and I bet they'll be sold out by then since they're flying out the door like bandits!

I guess Beach bronze if officially out of my list. Many people have said the same thing and besides I don't really NEED it...
The people that have Marine Life do you think it kinda compares to Stereo Rose in color? And do you think its backup worthy?

This is just to confirm what I believe Shontay said a few pages back. The Macy's on 34th street will have the collection out tomorrow. I'm so happy, I hope I get my Marine Life as this is the only thing I want from the collection.
