MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I really had a rotten weekend - and I promised myself a trip to my counter tomorrow. Maybe I'll check out the khols and bronzers, everything else is long gone, I expect.
Maybe I'll check out some dupes for Lazy days as well!

It's nice how MAC or Make-up in general can lift up your spirits!

Yes, I reorganised stuff this afternoon. It was quite soothing.

And, of course, you re-discover stuff you had forgotten about...

@LittleMaryJane: Thanks! I love Katharine Hepburn, and Cleolinda at LJ made this awesome icon-series of Heroines - so I snatched this.

I've tended to avoid LE items at MAC but I really liked this collection.

I bought:
Thrills l/s (2x) I love this colour
Lazy Day l/s
Life's a Breeze lippencil (2x) (needed a good just pink lip pencil as most of MAC's are quite brownish)
Beach Bronze cream bronzer (I'm fair, NW15 and this looked really nice on) 2X
Hipness (2X)
131 brush

From the online reading I did proir to the release, I knew Marine Life would be highly sought after. I decided it was probably too red for me. Initially I wasn't sure about Hipness (thinking that the colour would be too strong for me but when I used a skunk type brush, I thought it was lovely (I've been wearing it and Thrills everyday since I bought them.)

Hi there ladies. I was just at my mac counter which is located in Macys. They still have six Marine Life and four Hipness blushes. I once was talking to a girl that works there and she said they do shipping. So the counter is in Mishawaka, IN and the phone number is 1-574-273-9462 The girl that is a gem and always helps me out is Simone if you'd like to ask for her. She's quite nicer then the other gals. I hope this helps some of you. :)

I called and they do have quite a few ML left, but I was told that they do not ship.

I didn't realize Bombshell was a frost until I got home. It didn't look frost-like when the MA put it on. It is a pretty pink. I never thought I would be a frost lipstick wearer. I will have to pay attention to the finish next time I go for a new shade.

It's kind of odd - To The Beach hasn't caused half the stir in Sweden that it has in the US. When I got my things, it had already been out for 2 weeks and not a single thing was sold out. Prét a Papier seems to be much more popular here!

could anyone post a picture of Get-Away Bronze on the cheek? I'm thinking of going back for this but can't decide :S

I forgot to say when I listed the beach items I bought I'd gotten Beach Bronze. I tried to use it today with a regular stippling brush and it doesnt really work well so I have to find another brush. I already swapped the 130 I had gotten for the mineralize cream foundation weeks ago. I'd returned the foundation because it wasnt the right color and too heavy for me

.

I also work Firecracker today so we'll see if I get reactions to it. I also tried Splashing and LOOOOVEEE it!

Oh so BosSy maybe the Beach Bronze would work better for you even though you're a tad darker then me. The MA is a Nw15, I'm a NW15-20 but more pink to my skin and she said the Get Away Bronze made her look muddy. She did swatches and sure enough it did! The Beach Bronze is a nice golden color for me with a touch of tan if that helps you any.

The bug you're talking about is the Cochineal which I was told is not in the red/pink mineral e/s that bothered me. I did find however red iron oxides which I believe was in all of the pigments that bothered me so it may be that......the concentration of it or the combo with it and other things. Thanks for your help though

I have the same problem, especially with red based, matte purples. My beloved Fig.1 is sitting unused because I get the redness and mucus from it

The morning after I tried Firecracker I had a reaction too, but it may have been because I got cleansing gel in/on my eye when I washed my face in the evening. I'm such a klutz!

Sorry you have the same issues

. It totally sucks!! Why can't we be allergic to colors we dont like....or not allergic at all?? Do redness relief drops help you? I am able to use only the kind that is Naphazoline HCI as the main ingredient. The ones that have the ingrdient that starts with an O...cant remember what it is dilates the pupils when you use it too much throughout the day and a few times I've bad reactions and the redness/blurry vision from the mucous

Thanks for the reply, I already picked up beach bronze and was thinking about get away bronze since it's a "blush" haha Can never have too many blushes right? Note that i'm not calling it a bronzer since I picked up Refined Golden and beach bronze, i'm hoping if i call it a blush i can allow myself to go and test it out and maybe buy it if it looks good since i didn't buy any blushes from this collection

. Not sure if Sand and Sun went back up on MAC's site yet...cant remember. Someone might want the e/s

I didn't even notice that it was sold out! Thanks for letting me know!

Yeah I would rather give someone else the chance to buy mine then return it and have it wasted. I only used it the one time.
