Going to the movies with my husband and decided to do my eyes kind of like Christine did: Sweet & Punchy, Firecracker and Sand & Sun.

And in the lips Life's A Breeze lip pencil and Splashing lipglass. So pretty.

I totally agree. It makes me sad sometimes when I hear some people buy a lot of items from MAC store and return them just because they change mind or they don't like them. I think that's what tester is for...Unless if it's online but i think people rarely return online product because of the shipping cost.
One item is understandable but I have read somewhere somebody bought almost each item in the collection just to return them a few days later. It's just such a waste no matter how recyclable they are.

If someone did something to it, another person bought it and something happened to them as a result of using it they could be sued.

Makes sense... Just weird because when I returned an eyeshadow yesterday, she checked to see if it had been used--why bother if you're just going to trash it?

And if you're just going to trash it--Give it back, I'll go ahead and keep it

Well, I think sand and sun is going back!

It doesn't show up on me at all. Such a bummer. I can baaaaarely see it. So very light on my nc37 ( now that it's summer) complexion. *sigh*

Now the question is... what do I exchange it for?

Yes this is what I have always known to be true. And why I was shocked when last July I was in Vegas at Nordstroms and was trying to track down one of the Graphic Garden palettes (no Nordies here) and the ma got my cell # and told me she would call me she located one or if someone returned one. I said well I thought you couldn't sell if it has been returned and that returned items are tossed and she was like well we have a way of knowing if its been used or not. I said well I live in Tennessee and the ma's are not allowed to sell returned items. She just kind of blew me off then. But I couldn't believe it.

I went to one of my counters today and got 2 more Flurry of Fun l/g (b/u for me and 1 for my daughter) I also picked up Sand & Sun e/s. I did not allow myself to even look at S&P e/s as I have dupes or look at ML because I know it would be way too bright on me. I've been using Hipness with a light hand so I know ML would not get the love it deserves.

I knew if I looked at ML much less hold that beauty in my hands that that little seahorse would use its sparkly power and make me bring him home with me. So I stayed away from his magic.

He ran my credit card while I was on the phone and when I got to the store my receipt was in the bag and everything was ready to go.

I tried doing a search for the 130 brush in this thread, and for some reason I got no results.

So sorry for asking the question again, because I KNOW there was brush discussion in this thread...

I just got my first high-end liquid foundation (MUFE Velvet Mat+), and I'm trying to decide which brush to use. Right now I think I'm settled between the 109 and the 130. Is anyone using the 130 for liquid foundation application? How are you liking it? How does it compare to the 187 or 188 (or 109, even though the 109 isn't duo fibre)?

i have the 130 brush and to be honest i don't like using it with liquid products. i only use it for creams or powders. mainly because for liquids i prefer to use a bigger brush like the 187, the 130 takes too long with liquids and i find it looks streaky.

I really don't like the 130 for liquids, at all. It's a very dense brush and leaves everything very streaky. It's wonderful for creams though, huge thumbs up there.

If you have it, I really like the 131 for liquids! I've used it with foundation, primer and tinted moisturizers, all with great results. I find that it applies evenly and covers quite quickly with minimal streaking. I wouldn't say I like it more than the 187 (don't use my 188 for liquids), they're both great tools. I think both brushes do a good job with liquids, with the shape of the 131 being a bit better for tighter areas.

I don't know about MAC, but sometimes companies use a particular red insect (I can't remember the name of it) to create the red coloring. And people can be allergic to that bug. We were just talking about that at work recently. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that.

Nope not the brushes. I clean my brushes regularly and these are totally different brushes I am using now then when all this started in 2008. I have no troubles with purples, greens, neutrals, yellows or blues. And it's not all pinks...just certain ones. The bug you're talking about is the Cochineal which I was told is not in the red/pink mineral e/s that bothered me. I did find however red iron oxides which I believe was in all of the pigments that bothered me so it may be that......the concentration of it or the combo with it and other things. Thanks for your help though

Like the those few post above you talked about....maybe you should sell it in the clearance bin that way someone that might want it can get it rather then have MAC throw it away

. Not sure if Sand and Sun went back up on MAC's site yet...cant remember. Someone might want the e/s

Not sure if this was mentioned again or not, but Sand and Sun and Easy Lounger are sold out again on the US site... So that makes:

Marine Life
Hipness
Sand and Sun
Sweet and Punchy
Thrills
Easy Lounger
Float on By

I think I'll be picking up the 130 today or tomorrow. With the cream bronzer and the cream blushes i got with lillyland, I'm sure it'll get a lot of use. I have been using my 188 with this, but the bristles just aren't firm or dense enough on it and it takes a bit of work.

I had a great makeover yesterday! The artist was a former MAC Trainer. On my eyes, she used Rubenesque as base, Firecracker on lid, Samoa Silk(similar to Sand and Sun but better pigmented) in crease, Shroom on browbone, Float on By as dramatic winged liner on the upper lash line, and Sweet and Punchy as liner on the lower lash line. She used the lighter cream bronzer, Pink Rebel and Marine Life on my face. My lips were Temperature Rising (used to line and fill in lip), Beachbound and Flurry of Fun. I am NW15.

I got Marine Life (had it on hold since Thursday- no more left at store), Firecracker, Float on By, Sweet and Punchy and Flurry of Fun! I love how well To the Beach mixes and matches with my favorite collection of all time, Salsabelle!

Audrey, I saw you got Sweet & Punchy e/s. Do you have Rated R or any of the other similar e/s? If so do you find it to still be unique? I was afraid to look at it as I knew if I did I would buy it for sure unique or not.

It's my first day using any TTB stuff. Love them both--that overspray was immediately gone. Wasn't sure what to expect with that.

No lip product in this collection is matte, it's shimmer and glitter all around.

BUT...there are a few events coming up in several stores, so do you think Marine Life will be in-stock again during those events?

TIA <3

Probably not. There are several people here who bought extras to sell at cost to those who missed out, maybe you can get it from one of them.

I ended up getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I expected with this collection.

First I ordered from the website on Monday and got:
Marine Life
Life's A Breeze lip pencil

Then I picked up my pre-order from Nordstrom on Thursday and got:
Marine Life (backup)
Sand & Sun eyeshadow
Firecracker eyeshadow
Sweet & Punchy eyeshadow
Shimmermoss eyeshadow
Beachbound lipstick
Lazy Day lipstick
Easy Lounger lipglass
Flurry Of Fun lipglass
Splashing lipglass
Refined Golden Bronzer
and the 131 brush

Then after reading up on here and wearing some products for the first time on Friday, I ended up ordering from the website again and got:
Temperature Rising lip pencil
Flurry Of Fun lipglass (backup)
Beachbound lipstick (backup)
Funbathing lipstick
and Get-Away Bronze blush

and FINALLY I went back to my MAC counter last night and searched for and got Thrills since it was sold out online.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. But I just got my first paycheck from a new job, and I had no responsibilities to pay for with it, so I don't feel too bad about going nuts.

I used my 188 Brush with Marine Life and the whole gold highlight was gone after one application!
