This is why I take all my photos outside in natural light. I like the sunny setting. Sometimes I just rely on auto when I am outdoors.

For this collection, make your list and take it with you. At events they give you a paper to fill out with what you want anyway. They pull the items for you. I say the best bet is to do that in advance. You can always quickly cross stuff off after swatching, KWIM. I don't see that as a problem, unless they want you to write on special MAC paper.
That event is going to be crazy!
