I just came home from a manicure with Orly's Galaxy Girl, which is the dupe for Formidable! N/P.

It's beautiful! Deep plum wine with teal and fuchsia highlights - in average light it has an almost gun metal sheen to it from the teal, in bright light, the teal stands out much more distinctly as an overt shimmer, and in low light the fuchsia highlight comes out. 2 coats was slightly jelly looking, with the base color looking lighter, more plum. 3 coats makes it more wine colored, more "evening" looking, with more teal. I don't know if the MAC version will behave exactly like this....Temptalia was saying the MAC version took longer to dry, so maybe it'll go on a little stronger.

As for the manicure itself, I got my nails shaped in a pointy almond shape, almost a sharp point - this is a great, evil shape for these iridescent colors.

If I get together with friends tomorrow I'll try and get them to snap a picture, but I have a feeling photos wont do this one justice.

I bet there will be a lot of goodies to go around because this collection was created to appeal to both MAC and Disney fans.

I have a feeling there will be a bit larger supply for this collection, but there will still be stuff that is going to fly right out the door by the time the weekend's done. They've been promoting this collection with A LOT of hype, so they must have factored in some increased quantities to match the amount of publicity they've been spending for. However, they've underestimated the power of MAC this year in general, so I'd just get crackin' tracking it down or have someone who lives in a big city with a lot of local counters and stores CP for you. Online will probably be a clusterf**k.

again, not everything in the collection is increased in price. its just the items with the pictures on it.

i bought dupes for all 3. alot less $ spent and $39 saved!

ummm, 6 of each polish, like 15-18 of each blush, 9-12 of each BP, 21ish of the shadows, a TON of some of the lips, a handful of others, etc.

our shipment was pretty good. it came in 4 boxes, and that's more boxes than any other collection (excluding SCF ofcourse)

Excellent news! 21-ish of the MES as well as the regular ones, too?? I wasn't expecting that.

This makes me feel better. I won't be mad if I miss one or two of the lip products I want, but I will be mad if I miss the BPs. Luckily, where I live, things like blush don't sell out too quickly. None of the blush ombres sold out for at least a week.

i'm attending the event on the 21st-it's my first one and i'm super excited (huge disney fan/huge mac fan/new to buying mac so i can get all my basics with the disney packaging

), but i have to ask a really dumb question:


are the products from the collection going to be available for purchase on the 21st? when i first got the invite i got the impression it was more of a preview thing (mine is at a freestanding store, if that makes a difference), but in looking up events for past collections and lurking here, it sounds as though we may be able to buy on the 21st. in which case i would die of joy. but it sounds too good to be true, so i was wondering if anyone who has been to these events before knew how this worked.

I decided to watch a few Disney movies in anticipation of this collection. Last night I watched Sleeping Beauty. MAC may have ruined me because all I could think was.. wow.. the cape the prince is wearing would have made an excellent blush... hmm what about a pink/blue mineralised blush/eyeshadow (kind of like the ITG ones) to represent the wand fight the fairies had over the colour of her dress? LOL

In other news, I was wondering how BoaA compares to the darker side of Marine Life? I'm probably going to get it anyway but I would like to know either way!

I watched Sleeping Beauty this weekend, and I was thinking the same thing! I still want a blush the color of Maleficent's skin.

Now I just need to re-watch Snow White (my favorite movie as a kid) and 101 Dalmatians (the movie that scared me the most as a kid- I can't help it. I love dogs

)

I'm loving all of the Disney flashbacks I've been having as a result of this collection.

Yes, I finally figured out why they had a product called Briar Rose.. it was a bit of an epiphany moment for me...Snow white is my movie of choice tonight! yay!

OMG- I had the same moment! I guess I didn't pay too much attention to the names when I was a kid.

Especially not the princess names. I've always liked the villains more even though Cruella scared the sh*t out of me.
