Not to digress, really, but I can wear anything from NC50, NW45, NW47 and NW50 depends on the formula. I don't wear MAC foundations anymore, but when I did I was all over the place. That is why I switched. No matter what, Cooling powder is for all over. Suppose to give you the Halo type glow.

Toxic Tale is very bright. Florescent. I don't like the way it feels when swatched. Sticky. Try Wicked Ways if you can. Its beautiful.

I was under the impression that the powder was supposed to be some sort of setting powder, but it's actually a highlighter? That makes more sense I guess. I thought you were saying you would wear it as a highlighter because it was too light to wear as a setting powder. I've always been unclear on what the purpose of the powder was. I am #173 in mufe HD. I think that's an NC45 in Mac. I can't wear Mac foundations.

Ok, florescent is turning me off. I also don't like Satins, but I was hoping Strange Potion lipglass would help with that. I am just drawn to shades like Toxic Tale and I know I will obsess over it if I don't try it. It's the first thing I'll run to when I get there.

Wicked Ways seems like my type of lippie, but I have so many shimmery reds that I am happy with. If I end up scratching Toxic Tale, though I may pick this up.

Now I am almost back where I started in not knowing what I want. Maybe I need to drop by my local mall and see if any department store or the freestanding store has a display out b/c I am losing my mind.

Definitely an improvement! I won't have to worry about using them up

Sushi~Flower, after seeing the products, what do you think will sell out first? I am trying to decide if I should call and reserve a few more things instead of risking it.

Hmm difficult to say, after seeing everything I would say the cooling powders will go first, they are new to MAC and seriously feel like nothing I have ever had on my face before. It's 70% water encapsulated with pigmented powder and as soon as you pick it up on a #187 brush and sweep it across your cheek it's a done deal. You will swear your brush was wet!

The MES are really pretty as well, and once again being in limited edition packaging and a unique size and larger volume of product, I assume those will fly too.

The Beauty Powders are really beautiful on any skin tone, some will work great as a highlight were as some will look more like a soft blush.

The eye shadows are so-so as far as selling out fast, although pretty, I do not see or hear alot of interest in them as of now.

The nail polishes would be the other ones I would not be surprised to see go fast due to their ability to change colors depending on how you move them in the light.

Those would be my personal predictions, but one never knows until the collection actually launches

Sushi~Flower has just talked me into the cooling powder. Risk of breakouts be damned. Dilemma, though: Do I automatically pick Cajun because I am a darker skintone or can I pick the lighter one? I'm more attracted to Cajun anyway, but just curious if anyone thinks the lighter one will show on deep skin.

Really glad I reserved the MES, and since I don't like loose powder, I think I am safe. I just didn't bother reserving any lip products, but I think I'll be alright.

Once again, thank you!

Its not shimmery. I see some sparkle in it, but again, micro. It barely shows up. It reminds me of russian red. but not as thick. I think the sparkles have something to do with it being thinner. Its not sheer thin, as its still opaque. I was really surprised that I liked it. I wasn't in the market for a red from this collection.

I think seeing it in person is really what you need to do. Cooling powder is very pigmented like someone else said. And it has some amazing staying power. I hope when the collection is released, they have a video about it. shoot they need to do it now to inform us before we have to deal with the lines in the store. Anyway, from reading about it on prescriptive's site. It says its suppose to minimize pores, fine lines and wrinkles and set foundation. It was also translucent. MAC has added color to theirs so I don't know about the setting foundation part cause its too light (Cajun) for me to do that. I was looking for it to go over the concealer i use under my eyes, therefore it would double as a highlighter for me. I use either the Ben Nye Banana powder or Naked Deep Dark pigment for that now. The Cajun color is very close to the Naked Deep Dark pigment, so that is why I was interested in it for highlighting.

it looks lavender in the pan, but went on pink and chalky. Not much color payoff on brown skin. Its not for me, so meh! Just swatch it and see.

I use Ben Nye, too and it's a Godsend. I had been using the mufe hd powder and even though it was awesome, it would make my skin look white in photos if I wasn't super careful. BN blends in wonderfully even when I am a bit careless with it.

I'm thinking both of the cooling powders will come in handy. We'll see.

The lighter one is cooler, lighter and Cajun is warmer, of course darker, more bronzy. I was thinking a matter of preference as they both swatched well. Truth and Light was really pretty.

Cajun is the bronze kinda instant tan one. My friend loves Faux Tan by bare minerals, so Cajun would be a good one for her. She likes that all year bronze look. She is like Alicia Keys' complextion.

Truth and Light is the regular one, for the non bronze luminous look. They need to be swatched, on your face for you to really be sure.

That's a tough call. I'm darker than Alicia Keys, so the Cajun might not make me look too tan. I really can't stand that anyway. All I want is a healthy glow to my dry, sometimes dull skin. I guess I will ask an MUA at the preview.

both these powders are very light textured tho and the shimmer is very minimal.. the old PX powder which is what this is but a bit more shimmery, was exactly the same way -- except PX had it in various shades of translucent, and even a grey neutralizer and bronzers.. this product does indeed give a lovely sheen to the skin -- I am an NC20 now and have been using the T&L as well as the Cajun for a bit of a bronze since it is sheer enough for me.

Does anyone know the expire date of the cooling powders? It's a lot of product (especially for a highlighter). I 'm wondering if they will not expire soon...

Does any one if you can reserve items at the counters in department stores or do they only do this in the MAC stores? TIA

That kills my BR lemming! TY

I was gonna skip this collection but these highlight powders are getting me back into it again. I think Violetta lippy is a must and the Truth & Light will depend on if it stays in stock until I have funds. The "very pigmented" comment about the powder has me intrigued. Too bad I can't get a sample of it...

If I get the cooling powder, I would consider the Innocence Beware as well and the Violetta. Not sure I need another Red, but Wickid Ways is quite appealing. I predict that is the lippy that will sell out first!

Still not feeling the MES or any of the blushes or beauty powders. None of the e/s seem like must haves to me. Briar Rose seems too chalky, I'd rather grab a Summer Rose if I can find one at the CCO.

I think BOaA could be duped. Hipness with a slightly red blush like Salsarose.

The nail polishes are gorgeous, but I would never use enough product to justify the purchase. Too bad we don't have decant circles for those!

I reserved and I only use a Dillard's counter.

But, everywhere is different. My store won't let me reserve, or at least, they haven't in the past.

it is a finishing powder as the texture is sheer... lighter one will show on deep skin more as a highliter
yes.gif
Cajun would be a finishing powder on someone with your colour skin with teeney weeney micro sheen..

they should be fresh if bought from the counters.. and they should expire in about 2-3 years
yes.gif
.. the texture of the product makes it very very fluffy.. so, even if it looks like a lot of powder (and there is a good amount) depending on use, it will be gone in 1 year -- my testers are almost gone in about 9 months (both colours)

I'm back to wanting nothing from this collection, hmmm. As of now I'm only interested in the light cooling powder to use as a setting powder. I'm intrigued coz it's a new product so I wanna try it. But not intrigued enough to also get the dark one to use as bronzer...I already have a tone of bronzers

there is a difference between setting powders (which set your mu), blotting powders (which absorb any oils from skin or fndn), and finishing powders (which can come in colours or finishes like sheen, metallic, irridescent etc).. this powder is like a hybrid of a colur/texture finishing powder.. it will not cover any imperfections in mu or skin, and it will not give a lot of highlite
