Yeah this area totally sucks...traffic, stuck up people, traffic, people, traffic....did I say Traffic? I'd go back to Chester County in a heartbeat before I ever lived here the rest of my life. Only thing is I want to go south where it's warmer and preferably near the coast. My mom lives just 30 minutes from KOP so when I go to visit her I try to go but have never made it but once. The last time I was there was right before I got laid off in May 09 and then before that I hadnt been there since I left the husband in 2001! They had just renovated the mall I think in 1998 or something like that so I didnt know my way around at all after all that time.

KOP is fabulous!

In other news, my sister and I went to launch party tonight because we wanted some new everyday items. I was not going to buy anything, but how could I not buy the nail polish??
drools.gif
I got "Mean & Green" (which is the only thing I wanted since the beginning) and "Bad Fairy".

I also got "Darkly My Dear" for a nice fall blush color. And I said I was going to lay off the blush?
shrugs.gif

All the ladies in the store seemed to be stocking up. Lots of items were flying out the door. Especially I heard the nail polish were hot items which is why I got them tonight instead of waiting and missing out.

Ok where do I start I just got back and boy am I tired it was a mad house my god crazy they had security and an officer there to be safe. Couldn't really take pics because it was sooooo crazy and packed the only pic I took was me dressed up in an evil queen costume lol I felt so weird.

The products:
BoA- really pretty it shows up like a corally red on my skin tone and its very smooth
Darkly my dear- very nice on us more olive/tanner toned ladies
Oh So Fair- doesn't show up on my nc 42 skin
Hot House- Very pretty with blue sparkles in it
Toxic Tale- again really pretty alot of the MAs were wearing it and a lot of the people were trying it on to me its a color that looks different depending on lip pigmentation and skin coloring on some it looked more orange on others more coral and on one girl it looked almost hot pink
Strange potion : VERY VERY pretty it makes the lips look very juicy and on my skin/lip pigmentation kinda of melon toned
Innocence beware: Love the pinky nude I didn't think It would look good on a more tan/darker skin tone but if used lightly its very pretty
Devishly Stylish: shimmering nude color one of the MAs put this on over Innocence beware on a lady that had nc 45 skin tone and I loved it those two together gives the lips this gorgeous pinky nude sexy kim kardashian pout.
Vile violet: swatched like memorabilia on me

Wanted to look at more products but like I said it was a mad house I couldn't get to everything.

I bought BoA and strange potion l/g hoping to pick up at later date hot house devishly stylish and innocence beware

Will try to post swatch of BoA and SP tomorrow if anyone wants.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I just got back from the preview party at the MAC Store! Heartless lived up to its name- it took a nose dive to the floor and broke as some poor woman was holding it! I only got Bite of Apple. All in all, I found the collection to be pretty but dupe-able. Here are my dupes (NW15):
Innocence, Beware- Hue (could hardly tell the difference)
Heartless- I cannot tell the difference between this and Red She Said
Devilishly Stylish- NYC Sheer Ruby ($1.74, if you are wanting to try a pretty red gloss but don't want to spend $15)
Wicked Ways- Fashion Pack, Synched Up
Her Own Devices- (hardly showed up on me) Lancome's Miel Glace
De-Vil- orange from Spiced Chocolate Quad
Toxic Tale- Red Full Stop
Sinister- Tease Me or VGVI (more red)
Strange Potion- Revlon's Coral Reef
Hot House- NYC Sheer Raspberry ($1.74 if you want to try a raspberry and don't want to spend $15)
Her Alter Image- Beautiful Iris
Vainglorious- Earthly Delight
Vile Violet- Purple Haze plus Shadowy Lady
Oh So Fair- hardly showed up on me (NW15). Don't Be Shy, Blossoming
If you are looking to save money, Bite of Apple and Oh So Fair can be duped with both sides of Marine Life. If you missed out on Marine Life, you can dupe it with these two! Marine Life's coral side is sheerer and brighter than BoA.
Briar Rose- Coygirl, Well Dressed or Dame (showed up the best of the three beauty powders on me)
Revenge Is Sweet- looks like one of the lipglasses from Naughty Nauticals or Victoria's Secret Cupquake
Resort Life- Who's That Lady? or Victoria's Secret Mocktail
French Quarter- Buried Treasure
Truth and Light- Vanilla pigment, Pink Opal or Porcelain Pink
I thought the Mineralize Shadows were truly unique and beautiful! They seemed less messy than previous ones, and highly pigmented!
My Dark Magic- Mystical Mist and Top Hat
She Who Dares- Contrast and Humid

I expected to buy Oh So Fair and Briar Rose, but they did not show up very well on me. I also expected to get Heartless, but it looked just like Red She Said.

I wore Marine Life, Red Full Stop, Temperature Rising and Revlon Coral Reef. The MAC artists thought I had on Bite of Apple and Toxic Tale. Hope this helps you, if you are debating or trying to narrow down your list!

Good about De-Vil cause I missed out on the SC quad. The new MES are much smoother too. Passed on Marine Life. So glad BoA is close. Thanks for the info!

I just got back from the Pentagon City party. It was really crowded, but here's what I got.

Vanglorious
Vile Violet
Her Alter Image: I swatched it next to Crazy Cool and it is IDENTICAL- returning this

2 MES
Oh So Fair BP
Formidable NP
MCP - light

I might go back for Innocence Beware. I'm very happy with my purchases except for Her Alter Image. I did a look with all 3 of the purple shadows and it was really pretty and wearable.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Good evening, girls! I'm back from the Toronto Eaton Centre event, here's my tiny haul. I almost left empty-handed, nothing was really grabbing me. It's all very pretty, but I just have too much mac, so none of it is very unique.

The Liquid Powders are one of the unique things - this should be fun to play with, but I'm 110% positive I will never use up the whole tub.

I also picked up Wicked Ways - it's gorgeous. Very bright and saturated colour, but not too out there. Strange Potion and Hot House were both gorgeous as well.

Bite of an Apple reminded me a lot of the coral side of Marine Life, so I passed. Briar Rose looks similar in colour to Summer Rose, but of course I didn't have them side by side to compare. Oh So Fair is also very pretty with great texture, but I decided I didn't need another overpriced light pink blush.

I didn't play around with the lipsticks and eyeshadows, I already have tons and I depot shadows anyway, so not worth it. The mineralize eyeshadows are HUGE, the size of a blush. I think you must use these wet - swatched dry they were very blah.

Enjoy your hauls, ladies!

1764023.JPG

- the postcard-like paper is a little folder to hold the pictures they were taking in-store. I just grabbed the folder, no photo for me, or of me.

1764020.JPG

- Wicked Ways, with flash. Will try again in sunlight. As you can tell, it shows up more pink on lips, looks more red in the tube.

1764021.JPG

L-to-R: Loud & Lovely cremesheen glass, Wicked Ways, Just Add Colour.
L&L is not similar at all obviously, but it's my only other pigmented pink gloss. Just Add Colour is very close, but it's a touch more purple, while WW is a bit more red. Should show up better in sunlight.

WW is much redder on my lips- but i have very red pigmented lips to begin with.

Enjoy your mini-haul - it's a gorgeous color!!!

I was there too! The line outside of the store was crazy. I got:

Truth and Light cooling powder
Bite of an Apple Blush
Strange potion l/g
Bad Fairy nail polish (They sold out of this but while I was in line one of the MAs found one hiding on the counter so they gave it to me. yay!)

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Hi gals!

I just got back from the preview party and it was fun...too damn hot and too many people...but fun none the less. The counter that I normally go to has already reserved all of my items but I bought Bad Fairy from the party and it is gorgeous! Sorry, no swatches from me because it was too crazy and crowded and I refuse to add one more thing to my list.

As other ladies have stated, the "extra" attraction was the polaroid. It makes a really nice keepsake...you could dress up as Creulla or the Evil Queen and get your picture taken...then it went in a picture holder with Venomous Villains on it. I took one by myself as the Evil Queen and I took one with my sorority sister where she was the Evil Queen and I was Cruella. I won't be posting my pic b/c it is another HUGE reminder that I MUST get serious about my weight loss...but sss215 you look gorgeous!

Here are 2 shots of the look I did for the party. I just did a basic "pin-up" look...NYX Champagne on lid, MAC Saddle and Embark in crease, MAC Femme Fi as highlight, MAC Stud for brows, MAC Penultimate for liner, Maybelline Pulse Perfection for mascara, MAC Intenso blush, MAC Cult of Cherry l/g and MAC Bold and Brash d/w/g. Hope you like and let me know if I could do something(s) better!

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Hey guys. I got back some time ago but I was busy swatching, taking pics and thinking about what I got (and also thinking about how the hell I dropped $160 when my estimate was $90!). I'm ecstatic about everything I got. No returns on this collection!

Thanks to everyone who tried to comfort me about my broken camera! I'm getting a new one tomorrow. I was second in line and the woman in front of me was super nice and talkative. She is new to Mac so she asked me about stuff and that kept me from crying. I was literally about to cry.

I got: Resort Life lipgelee, Cajun cooling powder, Vile Violet shadow, Strange Potion lipglass, Dark Deed, Heartless, Violetta and Toxic Tale lipstick and Formidable nail polish. It's all love.

Resort Life: How did I miss this? I bought another of these sparkly lipgelee's from lillyland and hated it. I guess that's why I didn't bother checking out any others. I thought this was going to be some sorta clear sparkly mess that maybe I can control and put over a nude lipstick. WRONG! This thing is gorgeous on it's own. Tons of shimmer, but guess what? There was no mess when I removed it. Gorgeous and there's a subtle pinky champagne touch added to the lips.

Cajun Cooling Powder: So effin' cool. Can't believe I considered passing this up. I think I coulda rocked T&L but this one is prettier to me and it doesn't seem bronzy. I was afraid of that b/c I hate bronzer. It adds a sheen. I wouldn't use this to set my make up, but to highlight. And the cooling sensation is orgasmic
lol.gif
. Seriously. Just dipping your finger in it is an experience!

Vile Violet: Very, very nice and exactly as it is shown in other online swatches. It's a blue leaning purple. A nice and unique addition to my collection. Not much else to say.

Dark Deed: So glad I got this. It swatched nicely. I had to go in my memory bank to see that I don't have a color this deep. It's a stunning, sophisticated fall shade. Better than any lippie in Fab Felines

Hearltess: My least fave of what I got. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty, but red isn't exciting me like it once did. Swatched on the hand it looks exactly like Brave Red, but surprisingly, BR is brighter on my lips. Hearltess is like a muted cherry. Still pretty and I'm glad I have it, though.

Violetta: We all know about this!
lol.gif

Toxic Tale: My baby! The shade that had me foaming at the mouth did not disappoint! This is wearable! It is not as bright in person as you may think, although it can be built up that way! It's just gorgeous and sets off the face. At the preview I saw the palest of the pale and the darkest of the dark wearing this and it was gorgeous on all; big and thin lips. I will try to resist a backup. No promises.

Strange Potion: This will get backed up! Holy cow! I actually considered passing b/c the way it swatched. It got all in the lines of my hand and I got nervous. No worries, though b/c it is gorgeous on the lips. A peachy, pinky face brightening coral. Total love.

Formidable: Stunning. It crept up on me at the last minute. Last night, perhaps. You all know the shade with teal and different colored shimmer. I think it's almost a polish version of Dark Deed. If you wear these two at the same time it'll be kick ass.

Other impressions: Briar Rose tempted me. The mua dusted this on my cheek lightly. It was pretty, but nothing that I can't do with On a Mission (lightly) or Azalea Blossom. On fair skin it's a go, but on me it could get ashy very quickly! In the pics I post soon, I am wearing it in all of them.

Wicked Ways
I skipped due to red burnout and the fact that I have one full tube of Cult of Cherry and one with just a little bit left. This is the best red lipglass since CoC in my opinion so if you are out of CoC then be sure to get this!

Sinister is gross. I love lustre's but this is the worst kind. Swatched like dirty water and took forever to get a decent color.

Nail Laquers the green one just wasn't my thing. The red one was pretty, but it seemed really sheer. They just paled in comparison to Formidable, IMO.

Darkly My Dear and other Beauty Powders I just was not interested. Not for my skin. Darkly My Dear wouldn't even excite me if I was still in my dark blush phase. Pass.

Innocence, Beware is interesting. It didn't swatch all nasty and pasty like I expected. Still not for me and would require to much work to get it right, but it's a good lipstick for skintones that can pull it off.

French Quarter was disappointing. It was nice, but didn't set my heart on fire. It was just like dirty silver shimmer instead of some kind of green I was expecting. Smokey eye girls, get it. The rest of us may not find much use for it.

The MES is of course something I cannot wear, but both are gorgeous. My personal fave is the green one.

That cruella gloss, the goldish one was ok. Nothing remarkable.
The rest of the shadows were blah. I have coppering so no need for vainglorious.

The event: I was upset Maleficent was not there! Ugh! I didn't even bother taking a pic. It was cute, though but I was bitter. They had some little drink going around. It looked pretty, but didn't taste pretty. The tasty bits of food satisfied. It was a madhouse. I had my paper filled out for all my items and the lady only came back with 3! She wasn't even bombarded by people. Go figure.

Edit to say Bite of an Apple underwhelmed me, thankfully. All the coral blushes I have are more than enough for me to skip this!
