I wish I could get it, but I'm outta money after I order She Who Dares.

On another note, Karla Sugar has Cruella De Vil swatches up.

MAC Venomous Villains: Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians) - The Next Best Thing To Going Shopping Yourself

I'm curious, I've never owned a lipstick with a glaze finish... how does it differ from a cremesheen?

What can you not live without?
And what disappointed you (if anything)?

I love the MES, cause I didn't get any from Style Black. These are better. BoA blush is beautiful. A true black girl blush! I believe if I blushed for real, my cheeks would be that color. My cheeks look so warm with it on, without looking over done. Its more natural on me than many of the other blushes I have. It was the perfect find.

I was disappointed in Dr. Faciler's segment. Nothing mind blowing there. Sure the powder is new to MAC, but still not blown away. The lip products on the whole did not thrill me either. The shadows were the winners here for me. The VV collection on the whole was nice, lots of colors foe everyone, but I didn't get the feeling that this was one of the best MAC collections. I like the overall collabo with Disney. I grew up on the "magic of the mouse" and its nice to see how and where the brand pops up. I have been reading up on the villians and Disney while waiting for the collection. So that's fun.

GOOD QUESTION!

Well, since I trust anything you or Shontay say seem to work - I think I will.

So far my list is:
  • Hot House
  • BoA
  • Strange Potion - still debating
Let's talk Wrong Spell. Is this a jelly like feel, because I can't see liking that, but the pictures of Temptalia wearing it makes me want it so bad. Burgandy with plum shimmers - it sounds like it was made for me.

Also it seems like Strange Potion is universally popular. Even though it described as pinky/coral does anyone think this will work as kind of a nude lip? Well, a muted lip at least. Thoughts?

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

I remember persuing the collection for Style Black, but I wasn't a MAC maniac back then. Seeing pictures of Blue Flame and Gilt by Association makes me wish I would have paid more attention then.

So She Who Dares will kind of make up for that.
greengrin.gif

Not to mention the green side looks G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S.

I love my Fleur Power blush, I feel that it's the perfect shade for me. I also own Instant Chic, Hipness and Blossoming cremeblush... so if I were to buy BOA, I know I wouldnt wear it too much. Goes the same for Stereo Rose, I've used it only about 4 times. Nevetheless, it would be a nice addition to the family...

I too, was slightly disappointed with Dr. Facilier's collection. I wish they would have introduced new pigments or something bright to go with his collection. I really do hope they make the cooling powders permanent because I know it's something I'd like to try in the future.

I loved the lip products.

I think I can live without anything, but a girl deserves to pamper herself every now and then right?

Or in our case, with these huge MAC launches.

Wrong Spell is not jelly like at all. It is very pigmented. I suggest you start off with a sheer coat. let it warm up and then build the color. Going all in at once will look like mud. It is a dark, dark brown with purple shimmer. I didn't see any burgundy in it all. The 2 colors didn't mix to make something more burgundy.

I like this type of color for 1 thing, to deepen other colors. Alone, its wasn't very becoming. It does make a good Halloween or Goth color.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Dr. Facillier should have been Ursula! Think of the great colors they could have introduced for her!

A Pro store has agreed to take a phone order for me, but they said they'd have to call me back. They told me all they had to do was ring up a few customers and they'd call in two minutes. It's been more like 40.

I am such an impatient nitwit. I need to just stop spazzing over this silly stuff and take my own advice that I posted upthread.

PS...If I don't hear back in an hour, I just might call the Pro store in LA anyway. Yes, I'm hopeless!

My computer at home has a virus! It's like it's possessed or something...plays music randomly (hubby is a musician so it must have pulled it from somewhere) and kicks me out of the Specktra site. (I'm at work now).

Bottom line - IT HAS TO GET FIXED! Or I'll have to live at work so I don't miss out on VV!

Aww man. I just called the MAC Pro number to try and order some VV stuff and they wouldn't let me since I'm not Pro and they said I have to wait til Monday, when it comes online.

Glazes have a much lower colour payoff- they just give a hint of colour to the lips for the most part. They're mostly very subtle but, I think, they're very nice. They stay put better than lustres, but they're not at all drying.

Love? Dark Deed, Heartless, Oh So Fair, Bite of an Apple

Can't live without? Not sure anything really qualifies. BoaA stands out as being the most different from other products I have. Even Marine Life, to which it's often compared, looks very different on me. On the other hand, I was living just fine before I picked up my haul last night...

Disappointed? One word: pigments. Specifically, that there were no new pigments. Two were just promoted last fall and have near-dupes in the permanent or Pro lines and one is permanent. Also, I think they could have fleshed out the lip offering for Dr. Facilier a bit. Yes, I got RL, but another lip gelee or two wouldn't have gone amiss.

Ok - this helps tremendously. I might save my money and pass on this one.

I agree 100%. RIS is the only gloss with a jelly texture. Wrong spell compliments other colors but can look watery or streaky on it's own. Oh and, ok I will be buying boa.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

For all of you not able to order from the Pro store without a card, which stores did you call?

I just placed my order with the NYC Pro store and they accepted it without a card!

This is what I ordered:

French Quarter g/p
Resort Life
Revenge is Sweet
My Dark Magic
She Who Dares
Briar Rose
Formidable nail laquer
Mean & Green nail laquer
Bite of an Apple
Oh So Fair
Her Own Devices
and...
Dark Deed!

This was such a ridiculously expensive haul that I am dunzo with cosmetics for the year. Nothing MAC has coming up interests me. Their Christmas stuff hasn't gotten my attention since that antique one they released a few years back, so I'm good there.

I double checked with her that she had my correct name and address, and she said it will be here in probably less than the 6-9 days since I'm in NY (western).

So, if all goes well and there are no SNAFUs, I've managed to bypass that crazy website and the mall that will probably have one of each item knowing them.

The girl who took my order was very nice, but they were extremely busy. Maybe you guys who were denied at other Pro stores could call there later today or tomorrow right when they open?

With pleasure! I was concerned that it wouldn't show up on me, but it is pretty pigmented, at least on my skin (15-20). It is a pink shade, slightly peachy and very natural looking. It will give a nice glow to fairer complexions. Medium to dark complexions could probably use it as a highlighter.

The colour reminds me a bit of Instant Chic, although it's more pink than that and it is much more shimmery (and lighter). It's really beautiful product. HTH

Sorry if this has already been answered, but to get items put on hold until the release day, do I just call and ask them too? Or do I actually need to preorder and pay for everything? I'm pretty positive I want everything on my list, but my list is kinda giant so I want to make sure I see everything in person first

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

i managed to pick up my VV stuff today, yay!
choochoo.gif

as far as i could tell nothing was sold out yet but i only glanced at the display on my way out so i wouldn't be tempted to go back for more (i still might but i'll wait until either online or storewide launch day next week). it didn't seem that busy at the store this afternoon, a few people there but i didn't wait very long to pay.

also a big shout out to michael at the pro store who was totally nice to me yesterday and today, and didn't make me feel like a crazy mac addict (LOL).

That does help alot! I am about NW15 and wanted to use as a blush. It's not worth it too me if it is sheer/would only work as a highlighter, but from your description it sounds great! Thanks so much!
