I guess my top pick would be Heartless. It's my first red lipstick, I took the plunge and very glad I did, it's really pretty.

Also to all you pasty white girls out there (that's me) Heartless, Toxic Tale and Darkly My Dear all suit me - go for it!!

I guess you're right about the highlight liba....I was looking at it pretty close up when I said I didnt like it. Also sorry for the slightly up the nose shot there

Oh I went to return something to the CCO today and saw Blue Flame from Style Black and Guilt by Association

. No darn Young Punk though

And one more thing.....the blush I thought that Darkly My Dear looked like is Feeling.

Yesterday I e-mailed MAC about my online order that I placed Monday and they indeed shipped it! I am now releived!

I luv's ya so dang much I went back to the MAC counter today and really studied the VV collection.

I sampled every powder, gloss, lippie and everything else this collection had to offer that I didn't lay my hands on the first time.

And after all of that would you believe I only walked away with Dark Deed l/s!!!

I also purchased a few staples but the rest of the VV collection stayed at the store for someone else to drool over and buy.

On to the makeup:

While eyeballing all of the l/s in this collection, I picked up Dark Deed l/s and studied it for a moment.

My first thought was DD resembled Diva l/s but no. DD doesn't look like Dark Side or Night Violet either.

So dear reader, I purchased it!

Now I have several dark lippies to get me through the fall and winter!

I took a hard look @ Toxic Tale lippie but declined.

As for e/s, when I returned home this evening, I swatched Young Punk next to MDM and noticed subtle differences.

YP is sparkly while MDM seems to have a matte finish.

They both have the plummy black base but YP is darker than MDM.

Yet, both shadows are absolutely gorgeous!

I'm going to wear one of them tomorrow - e-m-m-moe!

After reading all of your comments during the past several days I became interested in the beauty powders and Darkly My Dear blush.

After seeing them in person and swatching them I wasn't impressed with the beauty powders and DMD blush reminded me of Notable (which hasn't been getting any love!) so I passed.

While I was at the counter a great MA named Carrie came over to help. She ended up doing a quick makover on me and I love the results!

She used Da Bling e/s on the inner lid and the blue from SWD e/s on the outer lid. She used Texture as a bridge color and Studio Fix concealer as a highlighter under my brows. She also used Nightmoth l/l with Dark Deed l/s and Date Night l/g.

Lovely, I must say!

So now I'm glad I decided to give this collection a try but nothing and I mean nothing imho beats SB from last year!

The good thing about this collection is that I can mix items from SB and get some usage out of them!

How cool is that!!!

Well, this is my last MAC haul of the year until a collection with msfs is released and I'll be all over it!

Yes, no doubt, I am a certified MACrackhead and I love it!

Ya'll are making me want to go back and get DMD. Anybody here have Raizin? I have it...is it comparable to DMD? I heard it's just a lighter Raizin. Do I need DMD??? I don't have Notable...I can get Notable from the CCO though so...help!

I sold my Nude Rose so I can't compare right now but from what I remember, NR is a lot pinker & darker than IB and there's nothing nude about NR...at least for me.

Maybe Elegant can comment on the difference because I love how she notices the subtlest of difference and her descriptions are always so spot on for me!

And Elegant loves both of these lipsticks so I'm sure she can offer her unbiased opinion!

Just had a random thought about the blue part of SWD... If you dont wear blues maybe try to layer with a purple/pink shadow or piggy and maybe it will change the color a bit? Or anyone that has any MUFE creams can use it as a base to change the coloring?

maybe?? Dont know if this will work but its worth a shot. I would investigate but I dont have my SWD yet

I love the blue side. Trying out all my colours at home I did one blue eye, one green eye (over FQ) and I actually like the blue better. Plus I have blue eyes so I wasn't expecting to love it - bonus!

Just tried out your suggestion by putting Fuchsia pigment over the top of the blue SWD and now it's a really beautiful purple colour - great suggestion! Thought I better keep going with the experiments so I put White pigment over the green SWD eye - it's come up a lovely denim/steel blue green. How bloody versatile is Mac! Winner.

i decided to take some pics of my MES.. to show their awesomeness. The cam doesnt capture it entirely, and I am just staring at my hands atm

These are all swatched with NO base and DRY...

top row is both sides of MDM (I like this MUCH more than Young Punk.. that was too much fuschia glitter whereas this has two nice shades of purple, Midnight madness, PLum side of play on plums.

Bottom row has SWD, GBA (LOVE_. peach side of play on plums and the one standing alone is Jesses Girl baked eyeshadow which is the bomb!.. all swatched twice /thrice to show true colour. SWD is not swatched very heavily.

That wud make it crazy popalicous! but personally, i find that using any GPS (black/dirty) and applying the MES wet is good enuf. These are more pigmented in smoother (atleast they appear that way to me), so even with no base and applied wet they rock!

Today was a great day! VV came out here, and I have NEVER seen my counter so busy at opening!

The prices weren't as bad as I thought they were going to be... some were even at normal NZ prices!

I had to put Heartless on straight away- I wore it with Cherry Electric Superglass on top. Yum yummmm!

I wore Oh So Fair as a blush for the past 3 days now, including for a wedding, and I am loving it!

The first time I used it, I thought I looked better than I have in awhile!

face-wise of course

. It didn't take much to show up! Today though, it seemed to need building up so I did that, and then added Azalea Blossom on top.

I adore this baby
