My compact is just a super thin folding mirror from Makeup Forever when they just first came from France and you could only get them at Barneys. I remember going nuts and buying a ton of stuff and they just threw it in for free.

I might step up to the mirror in this collection, though - especially if it's got Cruella looking all loud mouthed on it

I thought it would be to dark for my skintone but I actually really like the colour. I just don't like the picture of Cruella on the packaging.

That picture of Cruella is high-larious to me, with her mouth all mouthing off!

That's my favorite one so far, along with the Evil Queen beauty powder dangling the poisoned apple and the profile of Malificent on the MES.

I grew up in L.A. so I kind of took it for granted to go to Disneyland and get photos with characters.

HOWEVER, I spent years working in the video game industry and I got a giant thrill out of getting my picture taken with Link from Legend of Zelda at a Nintendo event.

this is kind of off topic, but does anyone know if UD shadows fit in MAC palettes? They look like the same size, but I have not tried it.

Everything in that pallette is a pressed pigment, except for the red at the bottom which is repressed Danger Zone red. Anyway the one you are asking about... which brings this back on topic for this thread... is Push The Edge pressed! Ta-da! See what I did there?

Also, I am glad the only compact I have any interest in at all, briar rose, has the only one of the images I really don't mind.

It is almost exactly Entremauve, and very very close to Grape however, for some reason, it presses much better than the other two. Grape and Entremauve tend to act like a matte pigment, which really for the most part they are a matte with a little sparkle added, so they get rock hard and give very little payoff from the pan unless wet. Of course getting them wet makes them even harder. PtE gets a little hard when pressed but you can still use it dry if you want. It's not ideal, but it is usable.

Thanks for the info- I rarely press pigments, so it doesn't really apply, but definitely good to know in case I decide to.

I don't have Grape or Entremauve, so I can get this one guilt-free. But, I also know I would probably buy them anyway. It is very rare that I pass on a purple.

I only own one pigment (Blonde's Gold) so I'm actually quite excited for the pigments in this collection, although I'll probably end up getting Melon pigment sometime over the summer to reduce my overall spending on this collection.

I don't really understand why a permanent colour is being promoted with this collection though. Actually, I don't understand why permanent colours get promoted with any new collections!

Me either! I will buy any pigment they put out, so I don't get why they put the same ones out over and over.

Because MAC's perm product and color range is so big, they use the collections to bring attention to some permanent products. It's much easier to "discover" a certain color you might like when it's presented as one of (say) four, rater than one in a rack of tens and tens of lipsticks.

Yeah, I agree. I'd never have taken a second glance at some colours without them being promoted, or used in one of MAC's 'looks'.

This one has got me excited though, I cannot seem to find the picture of the packaging though, or am I missing something and we're talking about the one we saw before from the update book?

Maybe we could put this one in the collection thread, Susanne?

I suppose that's true. I am always saving for collections so I never have time to look at their perm line. Makes sense that they would want you to buy a permanent. if you like it, you buy it over and over again. it does make sense. thanks

Yeah UD is depot-able and they fit in palettes, but be very careful as they are more of a struggle to get out than MAC. I cracked and lost almost half of my Oil Slick eyeshadow depotting it!

Link!!! I almost got a degree in Game Design, but after I took a class for a semester I didn't really see myself doing it. I wanted to work in the gaming industry but not as a graphic designer which is only what my school does.
