But do you like your eyeshadows in palettes? Because I depotted some, and now I never use them.

Although, I think blushes would be different for some reason.

yep, all my shadows are in palettes too! when you have as much makeup as me, it saves space. wouldn't have it any other way. and i know what colours are in what palettes, so they're easy to find too. otherwise i'd be sifting thru hundreds of free-floating pots to find one colour.

yeah that makes sense. For now, I am not depotting. but, maybe when I have as many as you I will.

I think I will depot the blushes from this collection- I am not extremely fond of the packaging.

I love palettes SO MUCH I got some 28 palettes for my most used stuff. I stay within a certain spectrum, due to my hair colours, but even the 28 is not enough. I keep threatening to make my own, larger one.

What is that dark purple shade five down and one over?

this is kind of off topic, but does anyone know if UD shadows fit in MAC palettes? They look like the same size, but I have not tried it.

I definitely depot everything. The only thing I think is a drawback is travelling--I feel like the pots would be more secure than the palettes, but maybe that's just me being paranoid! The only thing I have that isn't depotted is a Pink Swoon blush I just bought, so I will be more than willing to depot if I need to from this collection!

I also take out the inserts that come with the palettes, so a 6-blush/15-e/s palette expands to fit 8 blushes or 26 e/s. Saves me money on palettes for sure!

I'm 98% sure they do--haven't depotted any UD e/s myself, but I'm almost positive that I've seen people who put them in the MAC e/s palettes.

Thanks! I will have to depot those as well when I get some new MAC ones.

I get what you mean about the travel thing. Though, I guess I could move like 4 to a quad for traveling.

I was suprised to hear that Bite of an Apple is "soft, coral pink". I was picturing an intense red. I'll probably still pick it up because the Evil Queen is my favorite villain ever and I would love an Evil Queen compact. And coral is pretty; I'm just kind of suprised.

Holy moly, that is beautiful! I think it's the way you set it up. I have been wanting to put all of my quads in a much larger pallet and I want to do it in rainbow order cause it's so pretty!

There is a swatch of it in the swatch thread. It is actually quite intense.

Re: MAC - Venomous Villains discussion

Today I chatted with my MA who had just come back from Update, and she said that a lot of stores will be doing huge Level A events where they are actually going to bring characters to the counters! She told me that they are going to set up a website, that after you get your make-up done, you will get to take a picture with the character and it will post on this website for the world to see. Just the thought of having characters there is absolutely amazing, especially for Disney freaks like myself.

Also found out that MAC is the official make-up of Disney and was for the recent Winter Olympics, which I thought was pretty amazing.

Also, the images on the packaging are just like the images on LoL and To the Beach, so none of that cheapo sticker mess. Both the MAs I spoke with today were very impressed by this collection!

And yes, to whomever asked if Urban Decay shadows fit in MAC palettes, they are the exact same size, and you can depot them the exact way you do a MAC shadow!

Sweet! I probably won't get invited though.

Well the Level A events I'm referring to, you don't have to be invited, they are open to everyone. My counter is in a department store, not a freestanding store, so I don't know if things are different between the stores, but when they've had events, it's been completely open for whomever wants to stop by and get their make-up done and buy stuff!

Oh! Events at a counter! Gotcha. I don't see how they could keep people out of those.
th_confused_new.gif
Do they hold counter events before the launch date, or on the launch date? I will be going.

Most of the time, they are the weekend after the launch on Thursday. The MAC Counter at my dept. store is on the main aisle that leads into the rest of the mall, so it would be almost impossible to keep people from at least looking at the items/characters. They are one of the top counters though, because they hit $1 million tonight for the past fiscal year, which is a huge deal! They will probably have issues once this launches, because you know passer-bys will want to stop and have their picture taken with the characters and may/may not be interested in buying anything! What can you do?

Yup my MAC does counter events the weekend after the launch. The TTB one was the first I went to. They had free makeovers (well, no mimimum purchase but you're asked to buy something) but I ended up getting a bunch of stuff anyway. :p

Yeah, that won't be a problem for me with this collection.
